Let's hope Cedar Point and Kings island gets back to their roots. Creating record breaking attractions. Kinds island doesn't need a family thrill ride. They just got Sol Spin, cargo loco, and soap box racers. I'd like to see them ditch Zamperla and go back to Intamin to create a truly record breaking coaster. The Zamperla sol spin is more of a carnival ride. Kinds island is missing something similar to Maverick or Steel Vengence.
Cedar Point never left. Siren's Curse with that layout looks to be top 3 in the park. It's not a record breaker, but you don't need stats for an elite ride.
If it's gonna be a one train family coaster, I hope it's not a coaster at all. I'd much rather have something that really is a family THRILL attraction... Like an Intamin motion stage. Vortex plot deserves a centerpiece coaster... Not the Parks 7th family coaster.
“Family” attractions are great and Kings Island has some really good ones. Thing is, those kids you’re taking to ride those family attractions will be wanting those big thrill rides by the time they’re 8 or 9.
I miss and long for the days of record breakers and first of their kind coasters. The things I'm most excited about these days are the S&S axis, and the thought of an RMC T-Rex if one ever happens.
My thoughts on this Zamperla Family Thrill concept: 1. I’m also concerned about capacity. Flying Ace, Soap Box, and Surfdog always have lines. Not short lines either. I think for it to really work at KI, there needs to be a dual loading station with two trains. That would put it up there with Adventure Express or The Bat on capacity. 2. I love the layout. It seems really fun and decently thrilling even for a thoosie like me. I’d love to see some substantial theming. Contrary to you Ryan, I actually think Adventure Port was very well done and really elevated the entire atmosphere and aesthetic of that portion of the park. I love sitting and eating my meals back there now and just enjoying the ambiance. I think it’s only aged better in the almost two years since it opened because we’ve seen Adventure Express continue to get upgrades from Tech Services. I think if this coaster is on par with Adventure Express with theming, I’d be very very happy. 3. Let’s be honest, no one wants a small coaster like this to go in the Vortex plot. Least of all the thoosies. I was on the Vortex Crew in 2018 and it was such a special coaster to me for that reason. If it does go in that spot, it will be disappointing not to see something bigger like a Mack Extreme Spinner or a Vekoma looping coaster.
Indeed! I'm old and rode the original bat in 81, and the vortex day one and the last day, and seeing anything other than a thrill coaster go in there says six flags doesn't have a clue about what the community wants.
I agree that having a strong presence of family attractions is important. However, if you're in the amusement Park business, you can only ignore or disappoint your thrill seekers for so long. Most family money is going to go to the theme parks anyway... Disney, Universal for the well off families, Dollywood/silver dollar City for the more lower to middle class families. Youre going to get families in amusement parks, but I feel like coasters and high thrill flat rides are more of the bread and butter in "amusement" parks.
Nice video guys. I think we could see a new coaster up front near the entrance but that doesn't go over the entrance as well, I want them to keep the IS Restaurant, put a new coaster up front that goes next to the plaza, something to wow guests by when they're walking into the park, and then they can be wowed again walking into International Street. That would give Action Zone a new coaster also.
I’m just one person but I’ve been purchasing the Platinum now All Park pass since it’s been available. I live in Wilmington and go up to Cedar Point more during the season over Kings Island. That Vortex plot will need to generate a coaster on the level of Vengeance or Maverick to get some excitement outta me. KI just don’t have a coaster on that level yet. It would be nice also to see KI update the front entrance that also rivals CP. Just my opinion on a couple things.
I am not against putting a family thrill "attraction" in as parks need to balance their offerings but it will be six years since a major new coaster has been added. That seems rather lengthy between adding a major "attraction." I still think Kings Island needs more flat rides and not just for Planet/Camp Snoopy.
@@BeyondVertical101 and yet, look who travels from all over the world to stay at one of their 5 hotels. Kings Island barely pulls regional attendance. It's mostly local. There's not really "that much to do" compared to any other region and being between Detroit and Cleveland is way more appealing than Cincinnati for all there is to do between both those cities.
It is depressing. And cedar point knows it. That's why they'll always put themselves first. Kings Island has been consistently voted by the popular UA-camrs the best North American park for the last few years. Cedar point has to steal the fire for themselves or they'd be a ghost town. I'd love to see ki sell to someone like Herschend and bury CP once and for all with a ton of huge new coasters.
@@user-hb5fo2mr2p Kings Island pulls daily anywhere from Lawrenceburg Indiana, downtown Cincinnati where the Bengals, fc and reds are, northern Kentucky on the river and all the way up to Wilmington oh .... All 40 mins or less from the park. Cedar point and now six flags don't want them to succeed to steal their spotlight. It's certainly not the Kings Island I grew up with building the tallest fastest longest, all others be damned. They want a balance between parks. We want the best park.
You mentioned getting puked on made me think when standing in the fast lane line for sol spin puts you in the direct path if someone chucks to get completely covered. I get nervous every time
I think some kind of dueling coaster would be awesome at Kings Island, im not sure why this idea hasnt been floated, doesnt seem like ive heard anyone mention it yet... one with inversions could do really well in the vortex plot, maybe have the same amount of inversions on each track equal the amount of inversions that were on the Vortex...
What are the odds that, if it is a Zamperla family coaster, KI is getting it at a massive discount as a makeup for the TT2 fiasco. Just like how Vortex came to be
If that were the case, it would be more likely that Cedar point would have got something at a discount, not kings island. But honestly, the way legacy cedar fair (now in charge of six flags)' turned on intamin and rmc after issues with rides, Im surprised they're buying another zamperla at all right now.
As far as a coaster crossing the front entrance and you stating that they would have to remove the administration buildings. to the right of the entrance. Why could they not add the needed ride supports through the buildings, They would loose some space or could actually gain space if that part of the coaster would allow a newer multiple story building.
This will sound like blasphemy to many .. but I still prefer thunderhead to mystic. I think the twister layout with the station flyby is much better.than mystics out and back.
To put a positive spin on this I am thinking screamin swing in the tomb raider spot. They are fun for th whole famile. Then in 2028 we get the Vortex replacement. Knowing kingd island think B and M.
I dont think height is the only thing that makes a family thrill coaster. I think you get smaller size and muted forces. Kings Island has all od the family stuff it could possibly need. Its time to get back to roots. Everything need not be for everyone. Though there is something for everyone.
We are season pass holders for Cedar Point, our home park. We always do the all park passport which we use for Kings Island and other parks we may visit. We live an hour and a half from Sandusky. We sometimes stay if we do 2-3 days. But mostly drive in, drive home the same day. We always stay 2-3 days at KI. Everytime we go to KI we always comment on how much nicer the park feels and looks compared to Cedar Point. I think Cedar Point has allowed their cleanliness and customer service slip over time. KI definitely exceeds in those areas. For my opinion on what should go in the Vortex area. What are your thoughts on a Maverick type coaster? That would be epic and would give the park the ride and experience that area deserves. Fingers crossed!!!
I believe if they announce a Zamperla family coaster with one train for the Vortex spot, I will announce my retirement as a season pass holder! I feel they've slighted coaster enthusiasts long enough! The only way I would not is, IF it's not in the Vortex plot and they will build a a major coaster there in 27! But, I hate Zamperla! Their rides are lackluster. I do like Sol Spin, but it's NOT Skylab! I've never like any of their coasters that I've ridden! They have one in New York at Rye Beach that is horrid! I know Canada's Wonderland has that one, too and it's not rideable! I can't believe they would even work with Zamperla after TT2!
I’ll give my weekly bashing of KI. It’s sad that every year they go cheap and average but I see other parks get amazing flat rides and coasters. Keep building average and you’ll see attendance decline. Give KI the love it deserves
I don’t think the 2026 attraction is a coaster. I’d almost count on it. I think their next big coaster will be in 2027. Kings Island already has some big bad coasters. I think they plan to lean a bit more into the family attractions the next few years just because it’s what the majority of their guests are coming for. Us coaster enthusiasts are a minority in comparison.
If they're going to go with a family thrill attraction, I'd much rather see them do something like Efteling did with Danse Macabre. Take that big ole box you have sitting there from the Tomb Raider days and fill it with a well-themed spinning ride with music and light show based on the Maestro and Phantom Theater cast. Don't give me a coaster with a mediocre throughput and lackluster theming in a showcase ride space that does basically nothing more than what Stunt Coaster does across the midway. It doesn't make sense.
I miss the Kings Island that when putting something in wasnt afraid to do something nobody else was doing. Son of Beast was the last one like that. We need to fix this.
If only enthusiasts are upset about this then it means nothing this looks very much like what was picked in that survey and if that’s true then it is what it is. Parks have figured out the hack. Families make money not enthusiasts. Cedar Point with all those coasters still pulls less attendance than every Disney park individually.
So this video is you guys guessing what they'll put in and then complaining about your guess? 🙄 PSS - STOP with the "CP got a coaster teo years in a row"... How'd that work out? They likly got #2 because #1 was a COMPLETE PR disaster.
This is the most horrible choice of all time... Putting it in vortex spot will be the absolute worst thing possible... K.I. needs a TRUE TOP 10 Worthy Coaster. I'm extremely tired of K.I. getting the shaft... This Family Crap has to go..
No one, except Ryan, gives a rip about what enthusiasts want. Sure I want a monster, record breaking coaster...but KI is and has always been a family park. Get over it.
Funny, Ryan never said anything about a record breaking coaster. Also, if “no one cares what the enthusiasts want” then why do parks around the country and around the world add quality attractions, some thrilling? Clearly the “enthusiast” appeal is wider than just the .00001% of people that the park sycophants like to cite when KI gets the minimum viable product. KI is a family park, but so is every other park. If their money is in the “family dollar” as many claim, is that not true at Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Fiesta and so on? Sure seems like they get a mix of attractions, some family, some thrill. Do they make their money exclusively off of 20-something year old ACErs? If you’re willing to settle for mediocre-at-best additions which are promoted by disastrous comms, and marketed on a web site that has misinformation (when it does work) then hey… enjoy your media day invite! But I would recommend that you do a little more research before you out yourself like this.
@@TowerTopics If you could read you'd notice I never said Ryan said anything about a record breaking coaster. The amount of butthurt in your reply is wild to me. KI is a great park. It can always be better. The videos always come off with a level of disdain for being an outsider.
