Been waiting for this for a while. Amazing gameplay, amazing video and super fun indeed. Keep it up, can't wait to see this channel grow exponentially.
Another great playthrough through, bad luck in the end. Would love to see more of riffle or any playthroughs in general that you make. Enjoy how your playthroughs are edited. Looking forward to more in the future.
13:59 the mech defense is not rolled it’s just set to the indicated value . Think of it like physical armor plating you beat off to get to circuitry. It had too much defense. Hopefully this will make things easier in the future!
Fantastic playthrough, but you didn't scout during the first couple turns! Thank you for the terrific edits, as usual. Also, mechs have Armor, not Defense. They come in on their max Defense stat, but never roll the dice.
Thanks! Fun play, I need to get Riffle out and play him for my first time too. Cool to see how he plays. Personal preference, not sure what majority would think. But I am okay not having all of the quick cuts, guessing you did it that way to get rid of you talking yourself and deciding what to do. I kinda like to hear people talk through their decisions, and plus makes it a ton easier to edit. I really dont mind sitting through a longer video of TMB, I know what I am getting into when I start a video of the game :). Keep it up, loved it.
Great video! Happy to have found your channel. I ended up trading Undertow away which I now regret. I was spending so much time in the rulebook/guide and not actually playing. I wasn’t ready for the learning curve! Now after a few sessions of Unbreakable, I can say it’s worth it. I’ll have to look at picking Riffle up this Black Friday. Looks like a fun/unique Gearloc
Great video as always! Love your tmb content and would always love to see more! Riffle… riffle makes me sad. I love the creativity in their design, in their strange ethos for how you can even purchase them, and the fact that their identity is a mystery is intriguing. But I just… don’t think they’re a good gearloc. I’m working on putting in more time with them, to see if I can bump them up from the C-tier I currently see them in, but golly gee I just don’t know if I see it. Nice play tho! Don’t stress the rules hiccups too much. This game is big and crazy and complex, it happens. Solo games aren’t meant to be flawless.
Yeah I’ve played riffle a couple more times and came away disappointed each time. The dependency situationally to have to draw certain cards is just too swingy. Thanks for watching!
riffle is really strong actually. ive dominated 2 games in a row with Riffle. it's all about cycling cards and planning for that reshuffle! i think neon got into trouble with lack of dex... probably didn't need all 4 dice unlocked at least for that game.
@ around 8 minutes in, there may be a rules error. Back up plans are used AFTER rolling the dice. They are part of the resolve the roll step. (not that it would have changed anything, but it would matter in some situations.
@@TheFletchbm1 that’s great. Glad I can be around for your lunch :) sorry they are not more conversational. Thinking about working up the bravery to stream some which would fit that bill a bit more.
Hi, happy to see a review of Riffle. I wanna choose between Static/ Polaris/ Riffle. I only have budget to pick 2 of them and I usually play in Undertow. Can you give some advices?
When you upgraded your Attack dice, you did not do that correctly. You only get 1 attempt at a attack upgrade, you do not get to roll again for a 2nd attempt. When upgrading Defense, you can have a 2nd upgrade attempt. This was at 17:58
I had two training points and I used both training attempts on attack just did them in a row and settled on dex after which as you know is auto upgrade.
I’m 8mins in and I’m seeing some rules errors already - you started riffle on a baddie starting position instead of a gearloc one; on the raft, gearlocs are in the middle of the raft, while baddies surround them as they climb on. The vision cards with riffle also don’t duplicate the effect of other cards form my understanding - they have to be paired with another card, and make that cards effect able to be used on any unit on the mat, not just self (healing or bones) or adjacent (gears)
Wondering what’s the optimum Counterpart for Riffle. Like you, I also lost me first battle with him, playing true solo against Mulmesch. And also thought he might be rising to his full potential as a Co-op Gearloc. But with whom?
Any time you have a more complex gearloc I think simplicity is always a good complement. Especially if playing two handed. I wonder how well any of the base game gearlocs would fair? Maybe boomer for some ranged big turn support which could supplement turns your cards aren’t giving you what you need or when you are running out of cards. What do your think?
Uff, you pushed me over the edge and I got myself Unbreakable and Undertow. Now I'm thinking what next? Tink, Gasket, Polaris, Static Riffle (if I can find) 40caves/waves Any thoughts and or recommendations? Also AoT or RoT worth it for the tyrants if you don't have base? Not sure I want to get base game, but maybe I will once I need more tyrants over AoT, RoT and S&D. Hope you continue with more TMB content!
2 things, if you are a degenerate like myself then get it all and hope to find the time to play it. Bang for buck recommendation is Polaris and static but in my mind I would love someone to play those spectacular gearlocs last, they are the best of the best in my mind... I know base is not sexy but I literally love all the base gearlocs and has some great tyrants. AOT is a last step in the buying progression for me, was fun but I like TMB for the one shot nature and relatively quick play. I do like the idea of getting special tyrant loot but did not like the scars you have to take. ROT is spectacular, is it worth it with out base ... not sure.
I will be honest. Filming yourself playing anything let alone TMB is stressful and very difficult when you add in the rules overhead and modifications that rage of tyranny brings along with a new gearloc etc. I also haven’t played undertow in ages so that all was new again. I have tried not to make mistakes but simply put it’s literally impossible for me. I never realized how many mistakes I made until I tried filming them. I would imagine that would be the case for many people if they tried to film themselves playing a game like this. If you are looking for perfect playthroughs I certainly am not your guy sorry. I would probably recommend robs gaming table as he is a bit more thorough and has the benefit of chat to help him on mistakes in real time. Downfall there is you have to watch 3 hours or so. Appreciate the feedback I truly wish I could implement it.
I don’t mind Gameplay mistakes, in such high Complex Games, as Long as you correct them afterwards! Because Gameplay Videos benefit besides the Entertainment, its also a way of learning a Game, so imo I think, you should put the effort to correct them, as soon you getting aware of one. Easiest way would be with a pinned Comment and timeline, harder to to do with Subtitles, some Channels use "Klingon" Subtitles. Some also really show overlays, I suspect the most work to do afterwards. Don’t know if you even can do it afterwards, when someone points out a mistake in the Comment. But a pinned Comment from you could easily help and is enough to help with that issue, imo. Like your Quality though, Thank you for the Video! Imo, music could be a little bit turned downed, but that’s only me, I suppose…
I agree, I need to find time to go back through these and put them in the klingons. Since going back to work and kids in sports etc I have barley been able to keep this thing going. I have largely stopped playthroughs because they are like 20 hours of production and editing and get very few views Then the mistakes comments make me feel awful. They certainly aren’t meant for a rules reference only entertainment but completely understand that it could send someone in the wrong direction.
Been waiting for this for a while. Amazing gameplay, amazing video and super fun indeed. Keep it up, can't wait to see this channel grow exponentially.
Thanks for your continued support!
Very fun playthrough to watch! Thank you so much for bringing riffle and for playing this out for us!
Appreciate the love Mikey!

I never scout!!!!!! Lol. Don’t know why…..maybe I love surprises ;). Thanks for watching.
I finally got Riffle to the table last night. They are a blast to play. Gonna have to rewatch this for a refresher!
I am pretty sure I screwed up the ruleset here so maybe read the rules for the refresher ::
Catching mistakes is a great way to reinforce rules. Just like teaching something is a great way to learn it!

Riffle is certainly a nice change of pace but is subsequent plays I found his deck mechanic is pretty swingy. Fin though.

yes but can't tell you if I did or not...I cut out alot to shorten the video, but also make mistakes
Your okay through videos are such high quality but the gameplay mistakes bother me. Please work on it. Love your TMB videos otherwise!

Don’t be too hard on yourself. TMB is a tough game and we all make mistakes playing it
