I just used 2 AAA batteries 2 cables and a pinching hook and I just unlocked it bc my normal keys were lost and the spare were dead so bara bing bara bong I unlocked it and cuz AAA batteries were not supposed to be used on a car controller I immediately disconnected it
Man you don’t realize how much of a hero you are. I found this video right after my wife called from the dealership saying she needed to buy a new key fob. I told her to walk out and I’ll fix it in 30 seconds when she gets home. Changed the battery and the key fob is working like new.
Not all heros wear capes :) Glad I could save help you two save some cash
My dealership want to charge me 5$ and i said hell nah and after watching this you have saved me 2$. Thanks for that coffee.

THANK YOU! I was coming back from the store and got the warning (for the first time -- I've only had the car for two years). Now having watched your video my anxiety level has gone from a 10 to a 1.

Dealership should always be last resort they will absolutely rob you lol
Was literally just saying to my co-worker, I don't want to call Mitsubishi because they're going to try and sell me another car, not just a battery! Now amazon is coming to the rescue!
@@lindzriddb 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♀️
if you want the battery to last longer , try do not touch the battery with your fingers directly hands when taking it out of the new pack and adding it into the key holder as your fingers may contain some natural oil or material that can slightly impact the longevity of the battery, practice this when you replace a watch battery as well, if possible.
Seriously, thank you for being quick, concise, and complete with no confusion or faffing about.
Glad it was helpful!

You're welcome!
Thank you sooo much Robbie! For almost a week now, my Mitsubishi Mirage SE wouldn’t start without a jump. I had been getting jumps to start it. Today I asked someone for a jump, and while the car was parked on the street, I put on the emergency lights as well as my headlights. The young man that stopped the assist me told me that if indeed it was the battery, I wouldn’t be able to turn on the lights in and outside of the car. He suggested it was my electronic starter battery that needed changing. Duhhhh... I felt so stupid. All this time I’ve been inconvenienced by something so elementary. I couldn’t figure out how to change it until I looked on line, and there you were, my savior. Thank you sooo much for the tutorial video. I learned something and I appreciate you a whole lot. You’d be suprised by how little the average woman’s automobile knowledge is. TY 👍🏽😊
Awesome! Glad my little video helped you out
Thank you . Quick easy how to video. And for all the UA-cam TROLLS who gave a 👎🏼, did you expect the man to come to your house and change it for you??? Smfh
Ha! I don't pay them any attention. Haters gonna hate
Thank you so much for this video… When it popped up on my screen, I damn near panicked
Glad it helped!
Hell yeah
Yes sir!!
Thanks for the video, its is very helpful, can you please mention the battery for lancer ex 2016 model.
Thanks 😊
There are three different styles for that year/model. Does yours looks like this video? If so, it takes a 2032 - amzn.to/3oW4hFr
Do I have to reprogram the key fob once I change the battery?
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! I also have a question! I got a recall notice in 2020 for the car. Should I go to the dealership and take care of it?
You should go in and they can get it sorted out for you. Should be no charge to you
'Thanks easier than trying to read the Mits manual
Glad i could save you some time
I had try Amazon battery, it has power 3.31v but just not work on mitsubishi Fob.
I replace it with Energizer, 3.24v reading. Remote work.
Thanks,5 years later.
You bet! Glad it helped
How to change the cover?
Would this process be the same for 2017 outlander? Do I need to recharge it or just simply replace the battery?
Yes same process. These batteries are generally not rechargeable. You will need to pick up a new one - amzn.to/2WHqHes
Can you use a 2025 battery instead of a 2032? They look exactly the same
The 2025 is a tad thinner than the 2032. It might work in a pinch but the connection to the circuit board might not be great.
Do these batteries work for the Lancer SE 2017? The key looks exactly the same but I don’t know if there’s a difference
Yes. Same batteries
Thank you!
@@johnnybengsss1406 No problem!
What battery do I use for the 2015 RVR?
2032 - amzn.to/3bbR070
Does the key lose its frequency configuration when you change the battery?
It shouldn't
It didn't!
Hooray! lol - Glad it worked out for you
Will this battery size fit in an Outlander 2010? Thanks.
amzn.to/3q5663Q
the dislikes where from the dealerships
Haters going to hate
Can you use the actual key to start the car or is there nowhere to insert it in emergency?
On some Mitsubishi there is a slot to stick the fob in. It's either by the gear selector or in the glove box.
Is there anywhere else that I can buy the battery? because I need it now
Walmart Target Kroger or AutoZone. Most should have them
Is there a difference between an LIR 2032 and CR 2032.
No. Same battery. Just a different manufacturer
@@KeyFobRob ok but that’s odd. Becuase the key fob won’t lock my car anymore. That’s why I changed the battery.
CR2025..also okay right?
Yup!!
Do you need to reprogram
Anything?
Not unless it's been dead for a long time. You shouldn't need to reprogram.
I did this for my grand father but it still won’t work. The light turns red but nothing happens. Is there another step I should be doing?
If the battery was dead for too long, the remote may have lost its programming. It most likely needs to be reprogrammed. It's very easy to do.
I did the step by step seamlessly and now my car doesn't seem to detect the fob at all.
Shit how did you get that battery in there so easy mine doesn’t wanna fit and I know it’s the right size because I can’t even get the old battery back in
Sometimes the batteries get a little swollen. I'd get a new set of batteries and give that a whirl amzn.to/2WHqHes
Actually, you don't need to remove the key from the key fob.
True - I think it makes it a bit easier to show everyone the slot.
Thank you!
