Thank you, Sir! It was really helpful.
Where can I find the red thing to put the battery
Thank you
Great job dude. To reset it. Hold the unlock and lock down until light flashes 3 times. Then press unlock for one flash. That's it
Thanks!!
I actually figured out how to change it before watching the video. THIS was the tip I needed! Thanks! (it works!)
Your a life saver! This part was driving me nutz trying to fiqure out.
🐐 comment 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for the trick ;) It worked after a reset. I was scared the key fob was defective until I read the reset part :D Have a good day !
I need to change the battery in my key. And I’m afraid of breaking it, then I said “hey maybe there is a video on how to do it!” Haha thanks for the video!
Ha! There sure is ;)
For months, I've been afraid to try to change my battery, because I thought it would reset the fob, and wouldn't unlock my car anymore...thanks for showing how simple the process is!!
Glad you could get it sorted out!
Thank you for doing this, it seems so simple but if you don't know you just don't know. Saved me so much $$
Yeah! Always nice to see someone else do it first
Thanks man! Amazing how something so simple can cause so much stress! Worked exactly like you said! Cheers!
You're welcome. Take care!
Had no idea i could just replace the battery.... Mitsubishi dealer wanted to charge me $350 for new keyfobs!!! Thank u for doing this....I haven't used the buttons on my keyfob for YEARS cuz i refused to pay $350 for a replacement, just so i didn't have to use my key to open the doors....hopefully i can replace the battery and be good. Thanks again!!!
Great! Glad the video could help you get your dilemma sorted out. Take care!
Thank you very much for this, your the best
You're welcome!
Worth every penny
Thank you for saving me $180 dollars
Glad I could help
Be careful when separating the black outer cover. The black buttons are all part of the same molded piece but the red panic button is a separate part. It’s tiny and very easy to lose if the buttons go flying if/when the cover “pops” open. Ask me how I know! My friendly advice: do it over a table and not in and around an area where they could easily get lost if airborne
Very helpful. Thanks.
👍
Great thanks for the video!

Do I need to reprogramm the key after replacement of battery?
my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander key fob panic button sets off after changing battery please help
my key is blinking 25 times after i just replaced the battery of it. I think some of the buttons got jammed when i snapped it back together, do you what that means or how i can fix it? cause now none of my buttons works :(
It had gone a looong time without functional unlock/lock buttons so I got a new shell and a new battery for my key and I cannot for the life of me get it to work. No amount or sequence of holding and releasing buttons has worked. It just keeps flashing. Can anyone help?
I put the old chip in the new shell so it should work.. but I can’t seem to get it to register.
Examples: a CR 2032 is 20 mm (0.787 in.) in diameter and 3.2 mm (0.126 in.) thick, while a CR 1620 on the other hand, is 16 mm in diameter and 2.0 mm thick. The CR 2032 is more powerful with the same 3V. I will open it to see the original battery. (Canada 2008 Lancer ES 2L).
Factory calls out cr1620 on the fob itself
Hey Brother thanks for this video really appreciated
No problem 👍
I popped mine open too hard and the “lock” button has separated from the “unlock and “trunk” button group. Also, my battery works intermittently when the remote is cold. Don’t recall buying a new one and the battery and terminals are ok. Should I change it anyways?
I wouldn't buy a new one. If anything, I'd just buy new buttons for a couple bucks on Amazon: amzn.to/483WDzx
A lot of fobs don't operate correctly if they are left in the cold. Just cup your fob in your hand and breath on it a couple times and it should be back to normal.
Is this the same battery for a 2015 outlander sport? The key fob looks the same.
Open the key fob. It will be marked inside
I bought a 2012 Mitsubishi Galant in 2016. Dealer only had one key. Fob never worked. They gave me the run around about it so I left it alone. I recently ordered a blank key with the exact fob on it. How do I program it? Do I need a professional.
Dealership going to charge 350 to program it
Do you have a place to get replacement plastic covers for the key itself the plastic shell broke on mine
$8 on Amazon - amzn.to/3ky4VYQ
Ace hardware store sometimes has the empty fobs you can put your fobs computer chip and battery into but they are about $20 or so, so yeah likely cheaper on Amazon
where can i find the green piece
If you need a new circuit board, ebay might be your best bet - ebay.to/3dIs7xy
Dealer did this for me and within 24 hrs the key came out of the plastic case. The seal is weakened after prying it open.
looking for a way to keep the seal strong. my key has been falling out that plastic case for around a month now
@@sanshuri superglue
My buttons are not pushing. The fob is now closed and I do not see a place to put the flat head to open it again 😫
Pry by the base of key. Opens key side first.
CR1620 vs 1632. Has anyone tried? last longer? 16mm dia and 3.2mm vs 2.0mm thick is what those numbers mean. for all CR button batteries for future reference.
Mitsubishi i-MiEV driver reporting in. 12y old and still going strong. not the driver, the car. :P
Having a hard time opening the key with my screwdriver
now i just have to find a car to use this on
If the battery is dead will it prevent me for turning on my car?
😂😂😂
No
You just cant use the buttons to open the doors
Do I have to but the battery online
You can definitely get it locally. This battery just isn't that common so some places might not carry it. Amazon has it in stock - Battery - CR1620 - amzn.to/2qLrr4l
Thanks
No problem
