A area of Japan tourism you don`t see much of. Looks like a great walk. Most of the walk videos that I have seen are far more character building than this walk. They have made a lot of the abandoned train lines into walking trails here in Victoria. Now what would be a great idea for walkers would be as you get to the middle of a tunnel the sound of a ghost train coming.
Andy! So I have an alternate sento recommendation for you - Irifune-onsen. It's down near Shin-Imamiya and Dobutsuen-mae station, and I can confirm (as of, like, two hours ago 😜) that it's very tattoo friendly and while small, has a nice modern feel and good bathing options. Properly hot sauna and properly chilly cold bath too.
