2013 Venza here, the best car purchase I ever made, period! Only 170k km Still got that factory new feel. All service done on time and oil change interval at 8k km.
I ain't no mechanic, so I'm buying a new Toyota for myself as a Christmas gift. I don't wanna learn how to take out the transmission better for the rest of my life. Merry Christmas
I bought 2017 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder 6 sp Automatic transmission fr Australian Government car Auction for $20.000 in year 2020 12.000km only. I drive very smooth. Change oil every 8000 km ,coolant and automatic transmission fluid replacement my self.. the car will last for ever… i listen fr Scotty Kilmer to buy this car and i learn to do maintenance from Scotty Kilmer.. thanks for teaching us 😅 happy with this car 😅 from Australia
Merry Christmas Scotty & Family - My 2003 Ford Ranger (103,000mmiles & maintence done & flushes) Ford dealer put WRONG COOLANT on a radiator flush in Oct 2024- i drove 311 miles before the engine overheated- coolant reservoir totally empty with cap askew not on snug- radiator cap had a gell like gunk on it...Had it towed to dealer- they did "an engine flush & cleaned the gell off the cap and put the correct coolant back in. Nothing done about the heater core, ie a flush or the thermostat being replaced , and no hoses replaced NOR cleaning out the reservoir container. Nor specifically stated that a radiator flush was done. I have NO IDEA what all they legally SHOULD have done to correct their mistake. They did state on the bill they admitted to putting in Wrong Coolant. I have followed u for years to understand what i need to keep my Ranger in good health- which I so appreciate, Scotty. I fear my baby is ruined to where i WILL have problems. I am original owner. If u see this Scotty and can give me what I REALLY need to get this Ford Dealer to to- thanks Brenda
Have 3 vehicles. 2000 Chevy cavalier (2nd owner) 138k, 2002 Tundra 4wd sr5 148k, 2003 Taurus SES 80k. All still running well. Just keep up with normal maint and repairs as needed. Clear coat on all 3 is fading, peeling from Texas heat. Tundra gas a bad actuator on drivers door lock makes getting in only on passenger side and hopping over to drivers seat.
Many cars from late nineteens, early 2000's were simply build better and to last. And this generation of cars have just enough electronics on them for good efficient powerful engines and without destroying the environment. It really went downhill from that times! Rubber/plastic-fantastic-crap nowadays, sometimes literarily plastic parts inside the engines to safe that extra 0.1 gram of plantfood. Never mind the environment getting filled up with modern crap breaking down and being scrapped early.
omg Merry Christmas!! I thought you wasn't here anymore.....(shocked) going to sound crazy but I saw a report that it was RIP like 1/2yrs ago...oh wow! blessings and much luv and health going forward.
Id like to throw the 04' v6 accord in the running. 1 timing chain, 1 set of spark plug wires, regular oil changes... 360k miles. Still has plenty or pep in it's step
Sold my 2012 Honda ST1300 because my body started cramping up about an hour into my ride. Fun bike but not my idea of a touring bike. Pick up a 2019 Road King and can ride all day at 65 years young.
those older highlanders are very well made. I'm looking for a second one southern and low miles. i will store it. Until my current one kicks the bucket. it has 190k and runs like a clock.

Last time I rode a Sportster, my whole body was numb by the time I got off of it! 😂
Merry Xmas Scotty! I so wish I could hire you to take a look at a used Ridgeline that I’m possibly gonna buy. You seem to know what you’re doing. The problem is I just don’t like all the technology and electronics. I’m on a Facebook forum and it seems like people are talking about so many problems they’re having With their ridge lines, really new vehicles too, that I’m just about to back it way up to the old and small Ford Rangers, 2011. I loved my 2005 Ford Ranger. I just feel like if I get a new car it’s gonna be in the shop all the time and I live an hour away from a Honda dealership.Seems like all new vehicles are crap these days.
Wolf- i went to the Ford Forum & they were not helpful so i posted the following to Scotty- Maybe U know more that I can do- will check later to see if u reply- this site wont let me send my email- Merry Christmas to u Beowulf- Merry Christmas Scotty & Family - My 2003 Ford Ranger (103,000mmiles & maintence done & flushes) Ford dealer put WRONG COOLANT on a radiator flush in Oct 2024- i drove 311 miles before the engine overheated- coolant reservoir totally empty with cap askew not on snug- radiator cap had a gell like gunk on it...Had it towed to dealer- they did "an engine flush & cleaned the gell off the cap and put the correct coolant back in. 2016 and older Highlander to avoid that crappy 8 speed transmission in the 17 and up. Toyota was sued back then to do, sort of, a patch to lessen the problems with it. 7 years later Toyota is still trying to make that transmission work right in the Tacoma.
Just bought a 04 highlander, 101k 4 cylinder w/ timing chain for 6000$ needs blend door actuator which I hear is expensive fix. Running great otherwise. 🎄
Yes it's true. O2 sensor on 2006 camry B1S1 gave Traction control and another light. New O2 sensor shut off three lights. Same on my old 3007 Lexus GS 350
Merry Christmas Scotty. I had to stop watching when you brought up a hd. A BMW will outlast any bike on the market. 100k ya think ill have to concider having it checked out. 200 to 300K ya i need to have things looked at.
I’m gonna be trying to sell my 2012 Honda CRV myself. It’s a great vehicle but I just need a truck so I am looking at the Ridgeline. I’m under 10,000. Gonna start at 8500 and see what happens. I’ve got 111,000 miles on it and it purrs like a kitten
The noise of those obnoxious Harley riders are inconsiderate people who love revving up their loud bikes, keeping people awake at night, because they are narcissistic typical Harley riders who think the rules and laws don't apply to them
hey scorty i need some recomendetion i have 2012 toyoya camry 261 K milage with transmission issue becuz i didnt cahnge TM flouid tm goes bad and need new transmission bcuz its not shifting fron 3rd to 4rd to 6 gear any recomendetion
Sounds like your in a bad situation. Take it to a transmission shop and maybe they can fix a solenoid, valve body or reprogram. Probably needs to be rebuild
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to Scotty..... America's mechanic!
Still driving my 93 integra, 700k miles and still running strong
Wow!
Dawg
My Toyota Corolla 2013 has 145.000 still strong
Oh yea, I got 7 million miles on my model T!
Amazing
I love my 2015 AWD Subaru. It’s great for winter driving. Just oil changes and a new battery so far. CVT working fine.
What CVT fluid do you use? Still can’t believe a 2015 is gonna be 10yrs old…
The V6 in the Venza never disappoints. The car is roomy, comfortable, peppy, quick and reliable. Best car, I have ever owned.

Scotty indicated its easier to work on older cars with less complex technology. Just like manual transmission that will run forever.
Bought a FWD Corolla in MA and it’s not bad in the winter. Just need to wait for the plows to do their job and we are good to go!
I think that can be said about anything…

Is a 2008 Nissan Maxima a good starter car?
I’ve seen this before
2015 Volvo V60 D4 or BMW 218 Diesel, manual. Both 150000km
Between 04 and 07 Toyota Highlander, which one is the best among the two?

Diesel, something about it being more likely to start after a nuclear blast 🍄 !

What Toyota is this? Thx
I own two CRV, 08,11. 08 has 215k, 11 has 190k. I figure I'll get 300k+ out of them.
My 2013 focus has aluminum lower control arms. But it's one piece with the ball joint so you have to replace it anyways. Stupid.
How can you possibly say, with straight face, that you only release two videos per day. You release at least seven videos per day.
That 883 tops out st about 105 mph.
The noise of those obnoxious Harley riders are inconsiderate people who love revving up their loud bikes, keeping people awake at night, because they are narcissistic typical Harley riders who think the rules and laws don't apply to them
Yeah, and we love it!
Hey Scotty, know of anyone looking for a 40th Anniversary Toyota Celica (it has 400K miles in it)?
Here in the UK the government is forcing us to have evs 😢

Sounds like your in a bad situation. Take it to a transmission shop and maybe they can fix a solenoid, valve body or reprogram. Probably needs to be rebuild
