Purchased a Roku TV during the pandemic and was super impressed with it. Still working in the guest room. Thanks for the reviews - I like the new direction for the channel.
Personally, I prefer Roku for its simplicity & ease of use. Haven't purchased a ROKU tv. Thanks for your videos. They are informative & helped me decide which streaming device was best suited for my family.
I just bought a Phillips Roku TV 43”. So far it’s been a great TV, and the Roku interface is intuitive and simple. It came with a basic remote, so I upgraded to a Roku Voice remote.
I bought a 50 inch meant for a guest room and liked it better than the living room tv. The live channel option is nice to use for local channels with a digital antenna. I don't have to use separate remotes or switch between hdmi's.
I have 2 hd TCL 32" one was my moms i got her, i bought a 43" TCL 4K for my friend all are still working very well easy to use, my Sony 65" android A8H oled in my living room, its awsome
I picked up a TCL Roku 50” at Costco in 2019. Generally pleased with it, but it’s gotten very slow in the last year or so. UA-cam TV is almost unusable. I added an Apple TV device and its a night and day improvement in terms of speed. It’s a shame because I like the Roku interface and was happy with it.
I bought a Spectre 4K dumb TV, and hooked up the devices I wanted, and if the box/stick becomes outdated it's cheaper to upgrade than replacing my entire TV, plus it's easier to switch inputs, and I have more legacy ports for older game consoles.
I LOVE my element ROKU TV...... Their whole user interface and operating system is great and it looks exactly the same as my 2 ROKU Streaming Stick 4K's.......... I wont use anything else other than the ROKU
David I am in the process of trying to cut the cable. Can you please help me and tell me what I need to buy so I can watch TV in my home. I am elderly and completely lost. Thank you for any help you can give me😊
I run Roku on all three of my TVs. One is a hinex Roku TV, one is a Apple fire TV with a Roku soundbar pro, and the third is an older Vizio Smart TV with a Roku box (I'm not sure of the model of the Roku box or the Vizio. The Vizio is kind of dumb for a smart TV. I think it's about 7 or 8 years old). Anyway I like all three. The Roku interface is fairly easy to use. I use UA-cam TV as my mainstreaming platform, and also subscribe to several other a la carte streaming channels.
I have a TCL ROKU in the bedroom and it's fine for occasional use. In the TV room, however, I'll always buy a TV that has a keypad remote and plug in mt Ultra to use ROKU.

I have a 65" TCL Roku TV. I really like it. Cons: Live TV 90 minute pause/rewind buffer (using a USB thumb drive) and TV Guide don't always work. The live feed doesn't drop, but I cannot change the channel or pause/rewind unless I go home and reselect Live TV. Audio is TRASH! Apps like MAX push a lot of dialogue through the center channel and I had to turn the volume up to like 50-70 to hear people talk. Then an explosion happens, and it's loud af. I purchased a Samsung 3.1 sound bar with a center speaker (I know sound bars aren't great, but I'm happy with it). With ARC, the TV will turn on and adjust the volume of the sound bar. Only time I need the Sound bar remote is if I don't turn on game systems in the correct order. Only 1 HDMI slot is high refresh rate. I picked up a Monoprice Blackbird to run all of my game systems to 1 HDMI cable so that I can have the higher refresh rate on all devices. Pick HDMI on TV, wait a few seconds, turn on game system and the sound bar switches to HDMI on it's own (sometimes the sound bar doesn't and I use the remote to change to HDMI). Remote ended up not working. Bought the voice one and haven't had a problem. Pros: It works fine. I'd buy it again if I had a chance. Pretty cheap (but most are now) Free streaming channels on the guide (I know LG and Samsung do as well) Remote control phone app is nice A lot of apps available
My 43 inch TCL ROKU backlight went bad in two years, had to trash it. My 50 inch TCL ROKU has to be constantly unplugged to get the mini guide to work. I like ROKU, but have purchased my last TCL. I have A 55 inch Hisense ROKU TV, no issues so far.
Thanks..Luke for very informative reviews..I have 2 roku 4k+ sticks and for my main..roku ultra feed by ethernet..to a 4k projector..very happy..Thanks
I purchased a Roku TV 10 months ago. It’s still working ok but I get severe drift stick when trying to use the Netflix app. I May call before my one year warranty expires
Been a Roku user for many years. Bought the fist generation box when it was introduced. Have used many generations of the product over the years. Now have 2 Roku Ultra. I have never considered buying a Roku TV. I like the freedom the boxes give me to update to the latest Roku for very few dollars when the specs improve. Not locked in like I would be with a Roku TV.
My Camper came with a TCL Roku TV in th eliving room area. We purchased a Westinghouse Roku TV for the bedroom (since the camper didi not come with one) And the Westinghouse model connects to WIFI much better than the TCl model and they are only about 12ft apart! Other than that they both are fine. Does tak some getting use to the interface.
I would like to see an episode on what is the best TV TUNER for use with an antenna that is built into the TV. The internal tuners on some tv's aren't very good. Hope I explained what I mean by this.
If ATSC 3.0 ever gets sorted out, you will need an external tuner anyway, so just buy an external tuner for. ATSC 1.0 instead of a whole new TV, as I don't think he will test that many TVs to find a good tuner as that's a lot of money and time for a video that won't make it back for him at his current viewer count. Also a good antenna is more important in the overall setup. Antennaman channel can help you out on that front as he's tested a bunch of them over the years.
I have 2 tcl Roku 4K HDR televisions, 1 40 something inch (sorry can't remember the exact measurement) and the other I believe is a 55". Ironically with fire cubes connected to them and UA-cam tv as my main TV provider, but because I am an Xfinity internet customer I also have the Xfinity stream app on both and the Xfinity flex box on one of them.
I prefer FireTV or Fire Sticks UI to Roku, especially as a Prime member. It's a no brainer I don't like the Roku remote or UI and childish screen savers. With Prime Photos I have family pictures come up
I have a Tv now with basic cable. i want more channels though. I figured maybe add Roku. Is this a smart idea? How much will I be looking to pay per month?
I have a question I have not been able to find the answer to. Enjoyed this video. I have had TCL Roku tv's and am thinking of getting a larger one. When I give away the smaller ones, I guess the new owners will be able to add paid subscriptions that I will have to pay for. Am I right?
I have a lot of problems with my Onn Roku TV. Sometimes when I'm watching a movie the screen will go blank for a few seconds and then go back to the home screen. I sometimes lose channels and have to rescan to get them back. I also have a Hisence Roku with no problems.
What is the difference between 2023 and 2024 models. I need a 32 inches sizes. I cliced on your amazon link, but it is a purple box and I was looking at an orange box packaging? Might be a dumb question, but what is the difference between the color of the packaging?
You forgot to add that the remote is almost too simple. My biggest pet peeve is that it doesn't have access to direct channel input. There's close to a thousand analog and digital channels on my menu, so moving from a lower channel to high menu channel is very difficult. It's great that you can get a remote app but why not include channel buttons?
My RV came with a Roku tv and it was a really good tv, so I purchased a 55" Roku tv because it had great picture and very good price. Fast forward a year or so and now it will not play sound on several different streaming platforms like Max, Netflix, and even sometimes Prime. I have to reset tv and change sound settings to get it to work whenever I go from one service to another, even when the settings are on Auto. When I stream through my Xbox or Firestick there are no issues whatsoever. I have contacted Roku and have updated tv with latest available, even with a USB drive to no avail. This will be the last Roku tv I will buy. I do not recommend Roku tv's to anyone that would be relying on the tv as the primary streaming device as the frustration is just not worth it.
Does anyone know how to clean your roku flatscrean TV without scratching it or smearing it? I would appreciate any advice out there,,hope to hear from someone,,take care 😉
I bought the original TCL when it came to the US over 15 yrs ago, So i tried the Roku TCL combo and both have died in less than 3 yrs. they used to lag or crash constantly TCL blames Roku and Roku blames TCL, Both models 55 & 43 models have died in less than 3yrs with minimum use on both tvs...NEVER AGAIN will i buy a combo Tv from either brand !!! I now buy Signage Monitors which are Dumb monitors that cost alot more but are very robust & with multiple connections & uses I will never buy a so called Smart tv again !!
Sorry to hear that. The problem with so many of these TV's now days they are pretty much disposable. Seems as if 3-5 years is the average lifespan for so many of these TV's I love Samsung TV's and Sanyo's I have a Sanyo TV that is getting close to 10 years old and still works flawless. I have 2 TCL Roku TV's, 32 inch and 43 inch, satisfied with both.
Switch to a fire stick or Google TV and you will be happier.
What part, the camera it records you with or the mic that it also records you with?
I have 3 TCL Roku TV's. A 43 inch, 50 inch, & a 65 inch. Very happy with all of them.
Purchased a Roku TV during the pandemic and was super impressed with it. Still working in the guest room. Thanks for the reviews - I like the new direction for the channel.
In the beginning (of flat screens) TCL was the only brand that didn’t hurt my eyes. Stuck with them ever since. Love Roku with it….amd more.
Personally, I prefer Roku for its simplicity & ease of use. Haven't purchased a ROKU tv. Thanks for your videos. They are informative & helped me decide which streaming device was best suited for my family.
They are all the same when it comes to simplicity. Fire and google sticks are better in all ways

The Roku TV remote needs to include a numbers pad so you can type in Live TV channels by the channel number.
