I wonder if there is a risk that running rope contacts the non-moving bite on the ring? If it does, it may wear out the rope which can lead to dangerous situation...

To make it work well, you must use a small ring ( the inner diameter of the hole is 34 mm ) and the lanyard linking the little carabiner must be as short as possible.

tried this redirect method today. it works well. but during retrieval i have to tug very hard to undo the hitch on the ring. does a smaller ring help?
