Good lord the dude in that last story...he listens to drama time but hears absolutely nothing 🤣 "how many wipes before I should leave?" About his guild group wiping for 30 minutes like face meet palm
I play on Moogle and yes, the French thing is definitely a thing. The actually good French players usually play with English language client and/or speak only English in random parties. You know you're not going to have a good time when you pop into a duty and chat is full of "slt". I speak a little bit of French so I can usually get the gist of the chat without google translate, but when things start going sideways it's hard trying to communicate with them and autotranslate only goes so far.
Also sadly a moogle player. The novice network... THE NOVICE NETWORK MAN. I never looked at it when i was actually a sprout and then when i joined as a mentor and saw the state of NN where it's 90% of the time in french... I most of the time immediately turn off showing NN because it actually bothers me so much.
That 2nd story is made all the more painful by the fact that 90% of pugs can clear all that shit no problem and this dude committed to joining a static just to fuck off. OP should have left 20 minutes in to wiping and left the guild. Excruciating on all sides.
12:00 now I never got deep into FF14 beyond the MSQ... but i have played enough MonHun in the Eu to also know that for some reason, the French are just bad at games. I have personally witnessed the meme of the HR999 frenchie who is unaware of basic game mechanics.
I know the problem immediately on Tales of F. Always wipe twice. Never, never, never lecture on the first wipe, because you literally do not give the group the chance to learn their mistake if you IMMEDIATELY cut off their potential to learn. ...Or, uh. Or I overthought a language barrier.
Oh yes, that underscored F was definitely synonymous with red Flag and and imminent Failure 1-2 years ago. Wiping once or twice was on the better side while I still did the low level roulettes. I'm not sure what changed, I didn't have bad french episodes in a while, pretty much since Shadowbringers. I guess after maxing out all jobs in ShB I kinda stopped doing all the low level roulettes, that probably helps. Edit: I remember this one run vividly with the wolf boss and his mechanic that has you hide behind ice pillars during his howl. I took us 10 wipes and alot of google translate to coach a french tank and healer combo through that...
I don't play on EU but over here in the US I and many of my fellow guild members and friends that play with us all hate the Ragnaros server, because they are constantly bad (I believe they are central/South America, though I have been informed they are not from Mexico and are not from Brazil). At this point it's outside of just avoiding them. My guild gets mad because I do invite Ragnaros members, to give them a chance because they have a good score or gear. And every time they fail in the most spectacular fashion.
The Salut thing reminds me of when you try to pug Mythic+ in dragon flight and see literally anyone in your team from Ragnaros or Quel’thalas That is an immediate abandon ship.
pretty sure i'd leave that GW II group to, but for me, i'd flat out tell them it's the total lack of communication, they seem to have. wiping on a boss for 30 minutes plus isn't that big a deal on its own. wiping on a boss for 30 minutes plus, with no one talking about whats is or might be killing us is another all together, and is 100% a deal breaker.
I guarantee that the 29 going on 92 guy (which is probably an insult to 92 year olds tbh) will think Mike and chat are being toxic for not "supporting" him. What an absolute tool.
I've never raided and got triggered by that early raid quit. I've had people leave DnD early without mentioning before we start they need to leave early, it just feels like a waste.
If you see "salut" or "huhu" you know youre in for a time one way or another. Over the years I've gotten a special kind of fear of german dark knights. Idk why but its always the germany drks........ All the sane/good german/french usually stick to English
I have a good friend who lives in Argentina. She speaks better English than most people here in the US lol. I have heard a lot of people say not to pug with people from the South American servers, but because she lives there too, it was especially funny hearing her swear by never pugging with people on those servers too.
Its funny how those bigs MMORPGS have their personal "region locked for being a problem", In WoW the bad players were almost all from South America, Final Fantasy in EU is almost all French players. The second story I refuse to believe this isn't fake. KEKW
Not gonna lie, I'm not that old, but "the Discord" really confused me when I first used it and I have still only recently figured it out enough to be fairly comfortable with it.
Holy hell, that last story feels like every single LFR player in wow. This is what happens when you cater to solo players in a damn MMO. They literally ruin it for everyone else who wants to play an mmo, not a single player game.
Reminds of "raid leaders" trying to be "combat callers" becoming exasperated when the group doesn't all know when the ability is going to happen. On one hand yes, we should all know and move accordingly. On the other hand, you not being able to play your toon and call out timers is another thing entirely.
God, if people do mechanics wrong multiple times without even trying zo understand the fight I leave after the third time. I am not patient and i think that's totally fine. And I didn't believe this whole 'damn these french people' stuff for the longest time. But I am playing FFXIV for about 6 years by now and if the FC had to use pf for a raid or an ex trial and the random person was a french , every run they participated in, was doomed from the moment they joined the party. I just don't know what it is.
It's so funny though, whenever I inspect a player who's playing absolutely horribly, they always have French language ticked in. So it absolutely checks out
Sorry Mike and chat, after about 30m of listening to Drama Time, i became tired and couldn't be bothered with finishing the vid even though there's only 15m left. Am I in the wrong here? If I am, I might have to send in my own Drama Time because apparently I must be some sort of autistic.
Mike- "i didnt go to war with them, we gotta move on!" Tell that to anyone demanding reperations in the usa lol. They dont seem to be able to comprehend it either.
Did i send in this "Tales of F" story and forget? i'm Belgian (Flemish), i play XIV on european server, i HATE how they dont have to learn dutch but we HAVE to learn french. I always shit on french players cause they're the worst. I sent this in and forgot, there cannot be two of me! no way.
I recently did the destiny 2 day 1 contest mode with a team for 24 hours straight to get the emblem. Hearing the 2nd story is weird af man( we did took a break here and there). Im not advocating to take no breaks but for fuck sake u gotta know what you sign up for man. Raids take time, things dont work out and if people cant accept that they shouldn't probably raid. Respect other people time.
Imagine doing this in a job. Just saying "Sorry, I'm tired and not fit to work anymore" and leaving 20 minutes early. Your team is getting all the rest of the work done down one person. And then you see a listing for your job on Indeed, and you wonder what you did wrong. LMAO. Bro, I spent 6 hours a week wiping to Mythic Raszageth for months. C'mon.
The number of people in the chat confused about "reaper" being mentioned in Chapter 1.....do they think the word was invented by FF? I don't get it, it was clear what the author meant when it was read out, but they still go on about being confused about "reaper" being mentioned, and how it could be a new player playing Ultima in EW. So bizarre.
The number of people in chat confused about reaper was 1. It was 1 person. It's also not that hard to see where the confusion comes from when the story starts by mentioning it takes place during ARR and then during a section talking about dps mechanics in an ARR fight, they mention a reaper. It's just a confusion about context. Such a bizarre thing to get hung up on.
Ability tooltips for DRG, maybe other classes too, but I know for sure DRG, had no positionals mentioned on them whatsoever at least up until Shadowbringers. So at least in part, French were terrible because they weren't given all the information.
To be fair to OP in the second story, 15 minutes is not a lot of time especially if they are doing Wing 4 with no raid buff. The group seemed kind of bad and frankly that 15 minutes could be better used
@@moldveien1515 The problem was this isnt like they were going for just 1 more boss. They were trying to start up a whole other raid 15 minutes before they were done.
