Do you need to know your “why”?

  • Yesterday, I decided to train in the driveway for the first time in a while.
My mind travelled back in time, to a similar workout I remember completing, over 6 years ago.
Here I am, more than half a decade later, in the same spot, doing the same thing I was, lifting similar weights to what I did back then.
A thought arrived inside me asking, why am I doing this?
what was me reason for doing it back then?
what was my reason for doing it yesterday?
Then, I let that thought pass by, knowing I didn’t have an immediate answer, and let the next thought follow the same process.
6 years ago, I may have pondered and investigated that thought a little deeper.
After all, we are told we must know ‘our why’ in order to succeed or accomplish any goal
    But is this true?
Do I absolutely need to know why I want to do something in order to feel accomplished or proud?
I’m going to make an argument for the exact opposite.
That wanting to do something is actually all you need.
It was Charles Bukowski who wrote "follow your bliss"
A quote I have been thinking a lot about recently, even before yesterday’s workout
This quote encapsulates the essence of aligning with divine order.
It suggests that by pursuing what genuinely brings us joy and purpose, we harmonize with our inner truth and the greater ‘cosmic flow’.
This alignment, found through our intuition, helps bring forth a sense of fulfillment and authenticity, guiding us towards paths that resonate with our soul's purpose.
In doing so, we not only honour our individual journey but also contribute positively to the interconnected tapestry of existence, affirming that following our bliss is not just a personal pursuit but a profound recognition of our place within the divine order of the universe.
    .
In my observations, this world rewards to do-ers.
These rewards may not always reflect the exact goal or mission the person set out to achieve.
I know religious texts and spiritual beliefs such as human design share similar views.
The ide that being authentic, allows you to be the author of your life.
To question “why” you have these desires, these ideas or inspirations, now seems not only backwards to me, but also futile.
You have ideas and motivations placed within you, because you have the ability to bring them to life.
If you turn your back on these offerings, and instead choose not to follow your bliss, the universe will simply find the next best suitor.
Just like a tree’s branches will grow through a man-made fence, the universe will get it’s way if given enough time.
    But
the world chose you for this idea, at this time, for a reason. You do not need to know or understand why.
I know a bible verse may throw some people off
    but
Ephesians 2:10 says - "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Maybe you’re not religious (neither am I), but this verse affirms to me what I have already observed over the years on this earth. That this world rewards to doers.
Say no the Universe’s needs and requests enough times, and maybe the ideas stop arriving altogether. Subjecting you to the low energy, “low luck” lifestyle the majority seem to have fallen to.
No diet or lifestyle hack can come close to replicating the energy and vitality of someone with purpose and drive. I believe it pushes the blood through our bodies more than the heart possibly can.
Following your bliss, means to follow your passions, and follow your ideas, but it isn't always easy. It requires courage to defy norms, resilience to weather setbacks, and perseverance to stay true to yourself.
But it's precisely these challenges that enrich our journey, shaping our character and deepening our appreciation for the rewards that come from pursuing what truly matters to us.
I believe the universe works through you.
    Not for you.
    Not against you.
    Through you.
Just like the idea for this video
I’m not sure why I felt like making it
The idea either popped in my head, or was given to me from something higher, and more creative than me.
What comes of it, I am not married to.
Just grateful for the gift, and the ability.
following your bliss isn't just about chasing happiness; it's about living authentically and making a meaningful impact. As we each embark on our own journeys, let's remember that the world needs our unique contributions. By following our bliss, we not only fulfill ourselves but also contribute to a more vibrant, purpose-driven world

I've been struggling with "the why" for some time now and then this popped up on my home page, I appreciate your insight into the matter and will look to remind myself of it the next time "why" pops up for me. keep it up mate 👍

Interesting timing! Just an idea of mine, maybe we can give ourselves permission to do something just because we want to
And it’s totally ok if that desire changes or vanishes. Cheers mate

Knowledge asks the "What´s" and "Why´s", Wisdom asks the "When´s" and "Where´s". This means that knowledge devoid of consciousness about the place and time to apply it is unwise, knowledge must conform itself in action with the pace of the universe or else it is anti-universe (anti God´s Will), and by extension, anti-self as we take ourselves out of the cosmic pace, we disintegrate and deny ourselves and our essence/bliss by not conforming to "What Is" in the present moment (the current place and time we find ourselves in) and to "What We Are" in it, meaning, to not chose the self expression that will bring us more joy as a whole in the present situation. Joy stemming from the self as a whole is contagious and should be shared with the world. This is our purpose in all times and places.
