I got a gun cabinet, removed the racks and replaced them with shelves for a great glass door bookcase. Total cost including the new shelves was about $20. I'll be interested to see the drawers.
Great ideas! I use the Hobby Lobby boxes to make paintings and assemblages that use the boxes as shadow-box-style art pieces. Covering every “It’s Wine O’clock” box with something original makes me happy, lol.
That gun cabinet with the glass door would work for me for my out-of-control sweater collection (if I had any of the skills you and your dad have). New finish of course. Or in a bathroom for towels, with a big basket underneath for TP storage perhaps?
Great inspiration Andrew! The curbside finds have some nice potential. I could see adding wheels under the big, handhold cutout front drawers to use as under bed storage???
I reupholstered my couch , a danish modern joybird style. It wasn’t super hard, no tufting. The back is the last piece to cover all the parts, using a tack strip. You put the strip on facing out, then roll it toward the back, tack it in and it makes a nice quick no sew finish. I got the strips at Joann. I loved your ideas.
Oh my goodness!! So many great ideas. I had to pause a few times and get my tape measure and start measuring some of my thrift finds to apply these great ideas in my own home!! Andrew, I am loving your videos, my friend! So much inspiration.
Those two multicoloured metal chairs next to yhe ottoman are amazing. I love them. They would have gone home with me. Love the idea of turning those mass market frames into trivets are genius.
Dr. DIY Diagnosis!!! 😊 Love your prognosis, lol! Hope that wasnt too cheesy, and that you got a smile out of it! Love shopping with you and all the ideas...i happen to really like that ten dollar table!
I enjoy finding those "HL word art" frame/boxes to reuse for my own art projects. I'm glad you had the idea as well. You can also find them on clearance at Walmart, Target, Meijer, etc for a dollar or two. I also enjoy using cigar boxes for art work. There are many shapes and sizes, i prefer the all wood ones. You can take them apart and use different parts for art. The liquor store near my work gives out the empty cigar boxes for free. You can't beat that price!
Love these DIY diagnosis. First thought on the drawers was under bed storage. And I can't see the coat hook working to han that picture from, the scale seems big to me, maybe one of the damaged ones, and cut it smaller? Or cut the knob off the top and screw it to the wall and hang the picture from it? And "Olde English Scratch Remover" does WONDERS on furniture. might need a few trys to get the top looking presentable on that table but . . . Hey Queenie!
The first cut out panels can look good when backed with a mirror and hung horizontally above a window or door to create a faux transom. I have always disliked that style of dining table (Eastlake???) HOWEVER each of the parts individually are awesome in detail, and I think as a whole, that table would look great if painted in a Mckenzie Childs style, it's detailed and would take a while to complete, but the end result would ROCK !!!
All three hooks from the coat rack would look amazing just mounted to a wall by a front door for coats, or in a bathroom for towels! I love the idea oversized hooks in my entryway🧡
I totally relate to have lots of art in the walls. My house is like that 😂 and when I go to someone’s house and they have bare walls and one mass produced picture is like 😮, anyway ❤❤❤
I love gel stain because it's awesome when you don't need to sand everything down. Some pieces just don't call for all of that work. And when they do, I'll rise to the challenge or pass it to someone else. Have a great day! Looking forward to all of these flips ❤
this is such a cool creative brainstorming session. thoughts: -i almost love that Goodwill dinning table more than the other one you bought (sorry! lol) -i'm sure you and your parents can make a Frankenstein creation out of those drawers, maybe put the ornate one in between the two simple ones, or you can alternate them depending on how many drawers you end up using -the hook would look cool but then maybe your tapestry string might need a cool upgrade...like something braided or leather?
I have lamps that are around 50 years old that have rusted brass fittings. Does anyone know how I can get rid of or cover that up? Or are they a lost cause? I tried convincing myself that it was part of their rustic charm... 😄 But they leave a mess wherever they go. Andrew, regarding the uppity folks calling you lazy for not stripping down the frames in the last video... with all the work you've put into this house, saying you're lazy is laughable. Why put in extra work when it's not necessary?! The frames looked great.
8:59 I actually just did this on my Mammy’s antique faux leather ottoman! Had a huge rip on top so cut out entire top piece of fabric, tucked the new fabric under the piping, and hand sewed contrast stitching around the piping.
What clever ideas! I love the idea of the moroccan room with the mixed lights including the yellow glass. Or the dark academia, you’re speaking my language. I also never thought about taking a piece and chopping it up for parts, so practical and industrious. I also love the idea of using the gun cabinet for a hall tree. I’m assuming one wouldn’t sit on it, just use for storage? I love these ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Ohhh I think I would have jumped on the Cane Chairs. I think I would have gone with some type of animal print..maybe Zebra and a dark stain. ❤ and I liked the table also!!! My my my...I have to stay out of the thrift stores 😂
3:39 - The colors might not work for MySpace, but they'll work for a UA-cam profile picture. My upper case "P" has been replaced. For now, I've crammed all that Lilly Pulitzer/Marie Antoinette/geisha vibe into one small circle. Thanks, Andrew!
I really hope you didn’t take just those drawers from furniture that could have been utilized by someone if they were in their complete state. “crap I found on the street “.
All this is just talk. No refinishing, restoring or upcycling. Just walking around in second hand shops and a lot of what could be done. Not a lot of actual doing. More like an academic discussion. Your videos of actual upcycling, restoration etc is of much more value.
That’s one of the things I love about the way Andrew looks at pieces that most would and are walking past. Great ideas of how up repurpose furniture etc.
I’ve seen people use drawers as storage under couches and beds. Simple put casters on the bases so they are easy to pull in and out. They can also look great with the addition of a glass lid and legs to make a side table/coffee table to display treasured items.
There are a lot of home rehab and thrift channels out there, but I have to say yours is definitely one of the best I've ever seen! Keep rockin'!
Aw thanks!

🤣🤣🤣 I love your last sentence.
Haha totally!
Marie Antoinette & Geisha made me laugh!
😂
“Marie Antoinette and a geisha had a baby…” 😂😂😂
😜
Spot on. Now I can't unsee it

Smart!
Wait, that's a great idea! 🤔
I, too, seek to eradicate bare walls! Andrew, your thrifting bug is contagious!!

Yes! Perfect solution!
Those red cane work chairs are beautiful. I love your idea of the printed silk contrast fabric
Oh my goodness!! So many great ideas. I had to pause a few times and get my tape measure and start measuring some of my thrift finds to apply these great ideas in my own home!! Andrew, I am loving your videos, my friend! So much inspiration.
Yay! Let me know how they turn out for you!

I would absolutely have walked past that table without a second thought, I like the idea of using the pieces all over the house
Yeah, and I love the idea of saving the big thick sturdy legs for a future project.
I love the idea of taking a square art peice with the wood to make the tile trivet for the kitchen, I may try that! ❤
I’m making a video on that this week! So keep an eye out for that!
Thank you Andrew- I always enjoy your thrifting and your talent 🦘🇦🇺🐨
$10 for that gorgeous table!? Holy moly!!!
IKR? If I was still in my 1920's house, that would be in my dining room in a heartbeat.
You scored some great finds and I know you’ll transform them into unique pieces for your home. Your knit shirt is 🔥
Thanks! I got it at Goodwill this week for $8! 😂
I’ll be your geisha to your Antoinette. 😂 Thanks for awesome content. This is the most creative channel on UA-cam.

Aw thank you ❤️
I love these. It's a total brainstorm
The square art can also be converted into a nice tray

Random drawers make great underbed storage with the addition of little wheels
Love the video! Great ideas❤ the big hook on the wall is an amazing idea.
Who would say "Winter is my favourite season" ever?!!.. ..Only animals!! And people that eat children. 😂
Your ideas are always amazing. 😊
Very clever ideas to repurpose out dated pieces.
Loved the innovative ideas.
Love watching your content.
Even the ones that show your thought process during art creation!!
Thanks Margie!
Thanks Margie!
@@REISSUED came back to add....some of my favorite pieces began as crap on the street. 😂
Love the coat tree hack! I’m stealing that.
I dye/paint leather with alcohol based colour. Mine is the Japanese "Copic Various Ink". You can dilute it down with alcohol.
Great tip!
I love your ideas Andrew, you inspire me to do my own projects which is great 🤩
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing❤
Looks like more projects ahead! Cheers Andrew.

Hi Andrew, Fia Garcia recovered the ottoman in black for her mum i think, then the trays were also useful if they were flipped over.

Cope.
Great content but why do you talk so fast? 🥰
Marry me?!😊
No, no and no. Don't do it. It looked crap to start off, it look crap now. Just don't do it
Just curious, what item are you referring to that looks like crap?
