In my opinion, the best difficulty will change over your journey through GD, when you have beaten Jumper, your favourite difficulty might be 4⭐️. Afterwards, when you finally beat clutterfunk, it may be 7⭐️, and after you beat Electrodinamix, a 9⭐️. And after you have beaten Clubstep, it will be Easy Demons. Then, as you progress and get better and better at the game, your favourite difficulty will be a harder one, to the point that you are in Tride’s position, and it is Insane Demon. Or you could surpass Tride and your favourite difficulty could be Extreme demons. It will always depend on what you like, and whatever you enjoy most, it is ok, and nobody can say otherwise, even if your favourite difficulty is 1⭐️.
That's not surprising honestly, you don't seem like the kind of player to grind demons, more of a casual player who's just been having fun for the past 8+ years and not taking the game very seriously. At least that's the vibe I get from your channel
Very very good video. I feel the same in many ways. I love the mid-high range of extremes because it gives me the satisfaction of feeling accomplished, while not pushing my skill to a point where it requires weeks of effort. Its the most fun region. The not too hard, but just hard enough region
Yeah, i usually find that levels around 2 gddp tiers below your hardest (maybe 3 if you made a big jump) usually are the perfect place for a chill but rewarding experience in terms of difficulty, for me it's also insane demons, but it changes according your skill level mostly.
This is my favourite video of yours. I loved the part where you said “it’s insane demon time” and you insane demoned all over the place. Amazing video!
Hell yeah Tride doesnt miss,my first goal coming back to the game earlier this year was to beat an insane demon which seemed impossible but now sitting at 7 insane demons completed feels so rewarding definitely my favourite difficulty.
Insane demons are like the 3x speed of levels, not super hard, and not very easy, its just right in that middle part, it has traits of both, and i like that.
I really like this type of content, especially coming from someone who doesn’t really do scripted videos much. This is very insteresting! It’s genuinely fascinating to hear people’s opinion on why this/ that is their favourite, and go in-depth with it. Always opens up my mind :) Would love to get back into playing GD but.. gotta serve the military within the next month for 2 years so.. maybe I’ll get back into the game when I’m done, haha.
This is definitely something I can relate to, and something I wish more people in the community understood. Some people are really just passionate about this game and want to keep playing and having as much fun opening the game as possible. I've definitely turned more toward a showcase player rather than a serious player, part of it is time constraints, but another big factor is enjoyment. Many of the insane demons I beat back in 2018-2021 were some of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had in my life, and many times they came close to completely killing my motivation to ever play the game again. Now, with nearly 2,000 demons completed and some decent progress on entry-level extreme demons, I am content for the moment with where my skill level is at, and maybe sometime in the future I will be motivated to try to push it again. But for now, just showcasing levels and beating easy and medium demons consistently is what makes me happy, so I'll continue this new approach to playing the game until I am ready for something new. With 2.2 right around the corner, I am genuinely excited to see what kinds of levels established creators come up with in the near future, and being able to play a small part in the release of a monumental update that I dreamed of for many years, is honestly more than I can ask for. Keep up the good work and keep crushing those insane demons! :)
The way you like playing this game Is why this is my fav GD channel , I can really notice your enjoyment at playing and building in your videos and that motivates me when I'm frustated. Tride you are awesone!
great video!! i think it's very important to reinforce that GD is still just a game, and that you don't need to keep being the best of yourself all the time this applies both on playing levels & creating, where sometimes you just need to make a lil silly level to have fun again :)
I had been stuck mentally until recently in GD once I tried getting into harder stuff I started playing BuTiTi II for fun 3 years ago as I wanted to try a few parts that looked cool to me, after I started getting consistent at said parts, I tried the duals, which seemed impossible to me at the time. Still, somehow, I managed to learn the duals, and then, I decided to practise more seriously the whole level. At the time, my hardest was Nine Circles (being my only hard demon), but I got to a point where I thought I could beat the level. Unfortunately, my mindset was just awful, and after I got like 84% and not being able to get again far, I slowly stopped playing it and starting another demons that I most probably wouldn't finish. It got to a point where I had 5 hard demons started and didn't have any motivation to play those or GD at all. Time would pass and from time to time I would try and finish BuTiTi II, with no great results and little to no motivation at all... until half a year ago, where I tried once again. At that point I had a lot of consistency at the level because of how much I tried and even tho I was a bit desperate, I remained strong, even after getting 97% as I knew I could do it. Finally, I would beat it and start being motivated again to play GD. I finished practically all my unfinished projects and even beat a few insane demons like Night Terrors or, more recently, Supersonic A few days ago I started going for Allegiance as my first extreme, thanks partially to the showcase of Anathema and seeing it on GDDP, and I already got 66% on it with a much better mindset compared to BuTiTi II :) This video reminded me of that time where I just wasn't prepared for it and how important a good mindset is (yeah this is a good chunk of text but I felt I needed to share it)
So… literally THIS MORNING I beat nine circles, which was a jump from deadlocked and took me 2 months or more. I clicked on this video for advice, and it probably wasn’t what it was made for, it I got some good advice, soo… thanks tride ;)
really awesome video!! i love insane demons too, and this perfectly shows all the reasons there is to love insane demons. i enjoy them so much. thanks for making this ❤
i agree with this take even tho i only have 4 extremes for some reason insane demons feel more fun and less stressful to learn/play overall i’ve had more fun with insanes than extremes. really good video!
I do kind of feel the same way when I try to collect Hard User Coins from levels with varying difficulty. When I do collect them, it does kind of make me feel more motivated to collect other ones too :)
With my skillset, I find easy demons enjoyable. Sure, I havent been the best player for a long time, but I find stuff like the weekly demons very enjoyable, especially the ones with impeccable quality like Glorious Fortress by JamAttack. So yes, I'm not one to beat Nine Circles or Cataclysm or Acu, but that's okay. I enjoyed playing and eventually completing Deadlocked, and it's a good thing to me. I'm happy with where I am, and I don't think I need to play a super hard level to enjoy the game.
im trying to beat magma bound rn for a first insane and this just made me feel better than i actually am, i might get invested into insane demon grinding now i just wish there were more popular insane demons since there just isnt as many as the other demon difficulties
As someone who just beat their first insane demon last weekend, I have to say I agree with every point you made! So excited to discover more really cool insane demons in the future…
as someone that only beat about 30 easy and medium demons, i went to give necropolis a try on practice. it was actually quite fun and i wanted to try and beat it even tho it can have some annoying parts
I enjoyed insane demons like Night Terrors, Rupture, Windy Landscape and Crazy II, which are all lower-end insane demons considered easier and a lot more fun than Necropolis
Well said on having your opinions on this sort of topic man. :) - Even for us of having any sort of difficulty in the game of it being our favorite to play. Could say the same of doing hard demons to the easiest and hardest ones of having that sense of accomplishment, having that fun, exciting and satisfying energy once you do complete it. And of course, having the patience and keep it cool if you get unlucky, here and there.
Yeah I have to agree with this. Insane demons are such a blast to play. They are the perfect difficulty to challenge me but not be too difficult so that I abandon it after a week or two. Getting a new hardest in the game is an interest of mine for sure but it's definitely something I'm wanting to casually work in the background. My main focus is hunting for more insane demons to add to my list. Also Hard demons as well. They definitely can scratch that itch too. Just not as much imo.
I think at a certain point you can become good enough to knock out easy/medium extremes fairly casually, so the pressure is only felt on list or near-list demons. That’s what I hope to do one day, but for now I’m just dabbling in extremes to see which will be my first. My eyes are currently set on Empyrean
I think what's important to say, is that this kind of balance between easy and hard levels is very subjective. I personally find easy Extremes to be the perfect difficulty to play casually, they only take me a few hours at most to beat and they're generally fun to complete. I've noticed about myself, that i lose enjoyment on levels after a certain amount of time. When i play a level for 10k+ attempts, i start to get bored. I think it's just cause my patience and determination isn't great enough, so i guess I'm lucky I'm a fast learner. If levels took me longer to beat than they do now, I wouldn't have been able to beat Extreme demons, propably ever.
Wow, I was of this opinion a couple years back too for some reason. Insane demons just feel like a perfect ''hard'' difficulty in my eyes, hard enough to be a brutal challenge for the experienced, yet not hard enough to be impossible for a more casual player to practice and beat, not to mention not tight and stupidly tough enough to not allow creative gameplay aside from just ''straight fly, wavespam and tight timings.'' (And also allow room for some airdeco and creative designing in general)
Many players have different reasons for playing this game. This game allows you to play in many ways, so why not just pick out one that fits best for you? That's what I love most about this game. You can basically do everything you want. This video is very well made. Good luck on more of them insane demons ;)
I personally like easy/medium demons more. I think its really cool seeing all the cool stuff the community can put out and its really fun to be able to beat 3-4 levels in an hour with basically no pressure.
I used to think that, but over time I found it really boring. Spending time beating easy levels just isn't fun for me anymore, although I do enjoy playing a good medium demon from time to time, I avoid them for the most part.
I just beat 8o 3 days ago, which I started playing a long time ago but dropped for a year, and I understand the whole mindset thing so much, at the end, I knew I could do it but just needed to keep going until I broke through these last percents. And I just had to not give up after getting 92% lol.
I kinda see your point, for me (A more beginner player, best being The Devourer by Whirl and working on Brutal Calamity by Whirl), I think I have similar feelings to easy demons, my main struggle is finding easy demons to do.
This is the same for me but including hard demons. I had grinded till id beaten the hardest possible level I could run on my device, then I just didn't like the game anymore and didn't know why. I started to play hard and insane demons for a few thousand attempts till I'd beaten them in my free time. I'd play a bit here and there on a level for a few weeks and then beat it. This was much funner than putting hundreds of thousands of attempts into extreme demons, and it brought me back to geometry dash.
My hardest is clubstep ex/fire temple and for the past 2 weeks i've been into bloodbath which is the most enjoyable level i've ever played and i'm at 50% now. I'm not planning on stopping. Remember, do what you enjoy the most, regardless of what people are saying!
Yep! In my current point in the game (beating hard demons, going for an insane), i find easy demons to be the best. They are easy but i still get the accomplishment of beating a demon nonetheless, especially memorable ones like sidestep (felt even greater happiness beating it than beating nine circles imo)
i feel the exact same way. Most insane demons are easy enough to where i can beat them in a few hrs but hard enough to where i feel some sense of reward once i beat them. As someone who isnt trying to always push my limit insane demons are just that perfect difficulty that can help build up a certain skillset whether it be the wave or memory, etc without feeling drained or spending a week on one level. I'm also a completionist when it comes to games so i like getting levels done and moving on to whatever is next in mind and insane demons are imo the best difficulty for that
Finally someone agrees with me. I was at my peak back in 2017 and I was within the top 1000 players skill wise but unfortunately I died at 90% on subsonic before anyone made progress. Then aeon beat it and I lost all my motivation to play or get better.
if you like insane demons, i recommend the insane demon that i went for as my first, pixel thingy by hinds, it's the #1 most enjoyable level i've ever played in gd, period
I suck at this game, but once I beat my first hard demon i realized that it is a total waste of your life and now i feel terrible playing a level over and over again, taht's why im trying to become a good creator
this is so well made and high quality. i absolutely adore the video essay format, and the graphics, music and animations are so lovely. tonally, this video is perfect and a very easy watch. bravo!
Tip: try climbing the difficulties slowly, it really helped me out on improving fast. I went from my hardest being HeLL to beating 5 insane demons in just a few months on a 60hz mobile. I just beat like a low medium demon, beat another low medium demon, work my way up to a higher medium demon, and then when I try hard demons they’re so much easier. I did the same with hard demons and am in the process of doing that with insane demons.
I'm currently going for a new hardest for the first time in 2 years, which is Allegiance (ok well actually idk if it's harder than Acu) and not gonna lie, I think the main reason it's taken so long is just because yea, the grind for doing levels harder and harder is not as fun to me. Granted, Allegiance is actually really fun, but heck, my 2 hardest before Acu, being Spectral Tentation and Leyak, were both absolutely MISERABLE to play for me. I agree with the points brought up in this video, I've recently been doing a few more insane demons, namely Thorns and Brambles is my most recent one (very fun level, go check it out), and it's a lot more enjoyable than grinding harder and harder levels. Mindset matters a lot, and I think that can be applied to any context, not just GD, but this game is a god damn good way to prove it.
I completely agree with that, just try to have fun with the game and maybe beat some hard levels occasionally. I do somewhat grind the game but not to the point where I burn myself out. Also I’d like to add that Allegiance is definitely harder than Acu
great video man! Imo insane demons are very good for improving skill and some of them are very fun, but some of them are the worst levels ive ever touched
I have seen this type of video before on a channel of a pvz youtuber. That was the only place i have seen this video type(the type is basicly the words: "here's why")
bro I beat bloodbath and I still can't make myself beat crimson clutter, it's just not a fun level lol Anyway insane demons are one of my favorite difficulties too, I need to do more of those. Hard enough to feel accomplising, but still not a huge commitment
I play on mobile. Have done for a few years. I got like 92% windy landscape and 80ish% 8o a few years back and then I stopped playing the game for ages. Insane demons take up alotta my time compared to hard demons. I can spend a few days on a harder medium demon like verity and feel happy with myself after completion, or some well known hard demons like nine circles. I dont put enough time into the game to improve loads, imo hard demons are a such a good shooting point for new players after a while of playing. Plus the old school demon icon is so nostalgic.
my favorite difficulty is insane 9* because most of them you just practice and beat. i'm on mobile (which has such low quality the backgrounds on 720p gd videos look like a masterpiece compared to what i have) and i have a pc, but from what i've seen it doesn't support opengl 2.0. i hope 2.2 fixes that because i really want to play gd with a device that actually supports it.
As a person who beat only 2 insane demons (sharp minor and windy landscape) I agree I wish I was at the skill to beat them faster I’m trying to beat night terrors right now
Hearing him talk about how insane demons are just a nice fun distraction is WILD as an easy demon player
As an easy demon player this is truth
i've beaten Nine Circles and this hits *insane*
I agree
same as a hard demon player
Same as an insane demon player

@bobderstift some are good but not many

The look on peoples faces when I tell them my only insane demon completion is 8o is always fun

Agreeable. 👍🏼
Yeah, i usually find that levels around 2 gddp tiers below your hardest (maybe 3 if you made a big jump) usually are the perfect place for a chill but rewarding experience in terms of difficulty, for me it's also insane demons, but it changes according your skill level mostly.
you should do cataclysm or acu as ur first extreme@@Toxicated078

Yep! In my current point in the game (beating hard demons, going for an insane), i find easy demons to be the best. I suck at this game, but once I beat my first hard demon i realized that it is a total waste of your life and now i feel terrible playing a level over and over again, taht's why im trying to become a good creator
Tride I just entered this phase 😂 I just beat my first insane (Windy) and I’m starting to truly get into GD
My favorite Insane Demon, is by far Duelo Maestro. Its sad that no insane/extreme demons nowadays have a concept as unique as Duelo Maestro.
Condependence
@@xbabycry I haven't heard of it

I feel like for someone that doesn't play much GD, an insane demon is quite an accomplishment.
this is so well made and high quality. i absolutely adore the video essay format, and the graphics, music and animations are so lovely. tonally, this video is perfect and a very easy watch. bravo!
Numptaloid made a video about this a few years ago and if you liked this one you should really watch that one it's very good
You know it’s a good video when the first thing you see is a kettle boiling lol 😂
any difficulty that includes mental torture deserves to be called the best
This just inspired me I’m gonna try and beat a lot of easy demons (because that’s the hardest I can play I know really impressive)
Pretty much... I like insane demons... Has the right tone that I just wanted to play for example the insane demon arcane
Update: I just beat Allegiance, felt easier than Acu but still very nice to get a second extreme done
How to have fun in GD
Step 1: Don't take the game too seriously
Step 2: Don't take the game too seriously
Step 3: Don't take the game too seriously
Insane Demons always got me like "How the f do you do tha- ohhh that's how you do it"
Insanes got the weird timings and mechanics of extremes but are way more laid back
0:06 you cube too? Let’s go
Insane demon grinders rise up.
never knew that he had a good Rubik’s cube! My respect level went very high. And he used the j perm music in the beginning😂
the thing at the start made me burst in laughter
great video man! Imo insane demons are very good for improving skill and some of them are very fun, but some of them are the worst levels ive ever touched
Now thats some words from the wiser. Thanks for the advice Tride! Lets get Tride to 200K!
i havent beaten an insane demon yet but i agree
Ive had the most fun playing supersonic that ive had playing any level ever thus far
Damn, I need to grind insane demons again
depends on your skill level. medium demons for me are like top 15s for zoink, comparing our skill levels to corresponding levels
I have seen this type of video before on a channel of a pvz youtuber. That was the only place i have seen this video type(the type is basicly the words: "here's why")
Tride tried a new type of video with this video, and I really like it you have a very nice voice.😊
You should play ReRust. It's an insane demon remake of rust and it's amazing. Would love to see you stream it!
Despite me completely agreeing with him, the only difficulty I haven’t finished is an insane demon 💀💀💀
bro I beat bloodbath and I still can't make myself beat crimson clutter, it's just not a fun level lol
Anyway insane demons are one of my favorite difficulties too, I need to do more of those. Hard enough to feel accomplising, but still not a huge commitment
So i just casually fount a big Gs content creator nice
I play on mobile. Have done for a few years. I got like 92% windy landscape and 80ish% 8o a few years back and then I stopped playing the game for ages. Insane demons take up alotta my time compared to hard demons. I can spend a few days on a harder medium demon like verity and feel happy with myself after completion, or some well known hard demons like nine circles. I dont put enough time into the game to improve loads, imo hard demons are a such a good shooting point for new players after a while of playing. Plus the old school demon icon is so nostalgic.
As someone whose hardest is an insane demon, I feel this exact way but about hard demons
best difficulty is the random layouts you make that are buffed to your exact click pattern and skillset
Tride always chooses the best Baba is You songs.
Every good video starts with a kettle
my favorite difficulty is insane 9* because most of them you just practice and beat. i'm on mobile (which has such low quality the backgrounds on 720p gd videos look like a masterpiece compared to what i have) and i have a pc, but from what i've seen it doesn't support opengl 2.0. i hope 2.2 fixes that because i really want to play gd with a device that actually supports it.
Rare footage of tride drinking
Haven’t seen the whole video but I’m just excited to have a post to watch ❤
I see you fixed the shrug emoji situation
Wuuh
As a person who beat only 2 insane demons (sharp minor and windy landscape) I agree I wish I was at the skill to beat them faster I’m trying to beat night terrors right now
Magma Bound is an Insane demon, making the entire difficulty a 10/10
tride this is so real of u
Yo just subbed to one off my fav gd channels
I agree, my favourite demon difficulty is insane demon, matter if fact, im jumping from B to supersonic
i agree so much with this video, i love insane demons
Lad has a nice cup of tea
In my opion everyone as their own story of their demons and for tride it was the insane's.
I've only recently gotten good enough to beat some insane demons, and a lot of my favorite levels in the game are insane demons
This is very similar to the way I view easy demons. I guess it all depends on skill level
PLEASE KEEP EDITING LIEK THIS HOLY OMG
bro made a presentation 💀💀
I love that rubiks cube at 0:05 😂😂😂
