If I had a nickel for everytime I’ve went on stealth arms website and built out a Platypus, I’d have enough money to buy one of those Platypus that I built out

Well, Stealth Arms claims that they’re going to make it in 10mm. They’ve been saying that ALL YEAR, in 2024. So, hopefully they’ll actually do it in 2025. I’m looking forward to it as well.
@omegaracerx the only thing bad i can see about it is those colors are uunfortunately close to nerf colors, which some ppl don't mind, but a prosecutor might
Great review. I love seeing UA-cam channels I am subscribed to review a gun that is made somewhat local to me. I work at the scrap yard that Stealth Arms brings all of there leftover steel and aluminum shavings from the machining process to. They actually take all of the money they get back from scrapping the shavings and donate it to charity. Everybody who I have met from Stealth Arms is very nice and easy going. I met the owner for the first time just the other day and he is a really cool guy. He personally shoots each Platypus before they ship it out to make sure they work the way they should. I have had my Platypus for about a year now and I love it. I am still looking into the best holster options for it.
These Platypus are so good and at a reasonable price, that they are back logged for 6 months. Saw a Silver and Blue metal platypus and it's been living rent free in my mind.
Imagine a world where you take that idea and start your own company or take it too a company and get paid for it rather than having your idea stolen 😮😉
Great review, I watched the entire piece. I love mine, found one in stock and snapped it up. Had almost everything I wanted, bull barrel not available when I got mine. Have not seen one in stock since. Grand slam!
The only thing I regret about building my Platy, is that grip you have on yours wasn’t available when I built mine, and that grip is f’n beautiful. DAMN YOU PISTOL GODS! DAMN YOUUUU! I really want to just build another just so I can have that grip setup. Agony.
I feel the same pain on a much cheaper level. My first gun I bought was an M&P 2.0 compact 4".. And 1½ to 2yrs later they "perfected" it with front slide serrations, optics cut, co-witness sights, & a much better trigger. All for the same price. And the only updated slide for sale is $500 on ebay (trigger is $120).😅 So now itll seem redundant when I buy the nearly-same-gun eventually
@@flexinclouds I feel that pain also with my M&P. I have the old hinged trigger performance center. But I like the new ones way better. I bought it too soon
Tonight on 1911 Syndicate: Jake receives an odd email, 30 comments will misspell "Platypus", and "Doing a Platypus" is now family friendly content.....
I got my platypus in May of 23. Found out about them and couldn't resist the urge for a custom 2011. Got mine as a commemorative piece for my Wire Fox Terrier since passed, so cream with black and tan accents. It was truly amazing to be able to make and shoot a gun like that... It's fast. 😊
I have one on order. I shoot with a guy that uses one as his competition gun and loves it. I had a bunch of different colors combo built out, including some FDE similar to yours, but when it came down to it, i decided if I can, why shouldn't i go a little different, and i went with a red, white, and blue combo, because it just seemed the thing to do.
Can we take the time to appreciate the videography!!! Another great review. The number of times I have built out a platypus then been like naw I cant get over having a grip safety. Atlas and Venom all day.
Grip safeties are controversial. I like grip safeties for the added insurance that when holstering a pistol with one, without the grip safety engaged, one is much less likely to have a negligent discharge.
Never heard of your channel other than mentions on Instagram; saw this video in recommended by chance (crazy I know) and you gained a new subscriber in me purely by being the first "influencer/guntuber" to accurately name what a 2011 is. As far as the review: love it. More or less my same takeaway, but that's also nice seeing someone comparing guns by class of gun and its accessories/features rather than "this gun is ok I guess but my Staccato XC shoots better". The complaint I have of the Platypus is actually in its full teardown and I mean ALL the way down. I'm a gunsmith by trade, I like to do my own tuning, so I got my Platy with the basic trigger and my concerns are interesting. I do not like that the trigger bow and shoe are all one piece machined aluminum unlike a 2011/1911 bow being a stamped steel flat with a shoe that's threaded or pinned onto it. The trigger bar cover piece in the back being ball detented is cool but it's very fragile when removed as it's also one piece with a very thin bar of aluminum linking the two ends. My last criticism is the safety itself. It's a keyed lock safety, which is a superior design to the classic STI/Staccato "friction wedge and blade" lock safety, but the area below the safety has a tendency to pinch the webbing of my hand if I get too aggressive with my grip, as well as I'd like a shielded safety option as I also tend to pinch my guns. My Atlas, Dan Wesson, and STI guns rock shielded safeties for this reason, but because the Platy uses an uncommon style of safety I'm stuck with it's factory ambi rather than being able to swap in a shielded safety. (I *could* modify an Atlas shielded safety to work in this gun with extensive modification but then it wouldn't match the style of my Platy that is tastefully styled as a Nerf blaster)
I love my 2311 and I don't know why. It does not shoot as well as my Staccato P in side-by-side drills, heck it does nothing better than my optics-equipped HK VP9. Also saving $30 a magazine when you are buying multiple $2,000+ pistols these days seems like a rounding error more than a selling point but I'll be darned if I don't just enjoy it and sometimes that's enough. I've had my eye on the platypus for a while now and you just convinced me to get one because after all it doesn't have to be "either-or", it can be "all of them". Total side note but I just bought an HCAR and that thing is completely impractical but runs great and is a TON of fun!
The bonus of the 2011 is that most of then allow you to shoot 9mm major. Which can't be done in lesser firearms due to not supporting the case properly. (Glock)
I ordered my Platy in April and it shipped in September. I am blown away by the fit/finish. I only have 100ish rounds through it so far but has been flawless. I went with a "Stormtrooper" color scheme and it came out beautifully. As soon as they start offering the frame in steel I will order another one for competition. Good Stuff!
If they ever do it'll probably be $1,000 more. It's easy to make a steel frame for a 2011. It's hard to make a steel grip. That's why there's not a lot of people actually making steel grip 2011 grip modules. I would imagine that a one piece frame and grip made out of steel would be a shit ton of machine time. They could do it. But I guarantee it'll be an extra $1,000. And if it is around $3,000 then you got to decide if it's worth it to get the platypus over in actual 2011. I was in the same predicament as you. I bought the platypus and used it in competition. But realized it was too light. So I ended up ordering a masterpiece Arms DS9 for limited optics. Couldn't be happier. I still use my platy for two gun but it's just not the same
@@CompetitionChris Oh yah, probably. The thing is this gun just runs and the fact that the mags are cheap and reliable means I can beat the snot out of it with little worry. As Jake mentioned 2011 mags can be a PITA and they definitely are not cheap. For a competition specific gun I want that sucker to run hard. I feel like this platform will do it. I would definitely spec out an aluminum frame for a duty gun, I think it would be awesome in that role.
On my list for sure as it reminds me of the old Caspian Hi Cap frame ( I have 3 still...2-9mm and 1 -45) which was a single piece machined casting from Rugers pine tree foundry. One of my favorite hi cap form factors for the 1911. Came out around 1992ish. The only problem Caspian had was magazines and each gun had to be custom built on their frame. No longer I believe so its good to see Stealth picking up where they left off 😁
Good Review! I liked how you distinguished between a custom pistol and a customizable pistol. The Platy is definitely customizable 😎 I have two of the Platypus pistols, one bull barrel and one bushing barrel. Love to shoot them! My bushing gun came with a ~4lb trigger and it has worn in after 800+ rounds to 3.5 lbs. The bull barrel gun came in at ~2.75lbs and has gotten a wee bit lighter with use. These guns are not on the same level as an Infinity or one of the other >$5000 pistols that are being offered, but the differences are not ( to me ) worth the extra expense. I have a Bul Armory EDC 4.25" that actually cost a bit more than either Platy but really is not as comfortable to shoot or as accurate ( in my hands ). A better shooter might be able to make the EDC run better but it is just a tad behind the Stealth Arms pistols in my opinion. Fusion Firearms is now offering a double stack 9MM that uses G17 mags and I would be willing to bet that other manufacturers are working on designs right now. Alpha Foxtrot came out with a G17 fed 1911 as well, but I don't know if they were the first or if they came after Stealth Arms. Either way, the market is getting crowded with good DS1911-style pistols and we ( the consumers ) are the winner!
For me it’s the Platypus, Kimber 2k11 or Bul Armory Tac Pro for dipping my toes in the double stack 1911-2011 world. Staccato is cool but I feel like that extra 5-800 bucks and not even getting the RDO plate is setting Staccato back a ways in the market (minus the LEO contracts of course, they’re crushing those) 😅
Tisas has a DS 1911 for $700 that I’ve not seen one bad word about so far. So those of course are all excellent options but if you’re truly wanting to “dip a toe” I might consider that. I’d say those are pretty much just a full dive in 😂😂.
Dipping your toes in isn't a great plan for 2011 imo. I love my platypus but as soon as I got it I realized it was just too light and ended up buying a Masterpiece Arms DS9. Steel frame, steel grip. If I could do it all over I would have not got the platypus as much as I like it. It just doesn't even compare to a hand fitted hand lapped gun that's less than $4,000. But I'm also thinking about this in a strictly competition use. And I definitely agree with you about the staccato. They're not that great. They have shitty triggers and they aren't even close as butter smooth as my MPA. The slide literally feels like it's on bearings. It's amazing
@@CompetitionChris Not sure on the MPA, read about inconsistency in QC thumb safety fit . The next one up from the list above would be Vudoo Priest probably. Not necessarily wanting a full steel frame yet.
I have both a Platy 5" and a BUL Tac 5" (not the Pro). The BUL is my Limited Optics gun for now. It is excellent for the price point though I'm forcing a tactical/duty gun to do race-gun work. I would definitely recommend both but there are better competition specific pistols out there, you're just gonna pay alot more.
Bought mine last year before the update on the bull barrel and hand grip. Gunna have to buy another. Incredible weapon for the price. Not one malfunction no matter the ammo. XP Pro from fusion firearms released last month. Same concept of all aluminum and Glock mags.
Jake, can you post the build details for this pistol, specifically the color scheme, and what parts are colored what? Love to replicate this build whenever Stealth allows customs again. The Syndicate always has great taste.
The one consistent thing with utube presenters. Presumed level of knowledge. I would be reasonably confident that this is 45 caliber. But, it was not said or written anywhere I could find. This presumed level of knowledge isn't bad here. In radio control fix wing and drone flying programing it is brutal. Same issue with the diy auto repair. Give us the lowest level data. If we know it already it will simply slip by. If we don't it will be appreciated. Great video , It left me with the ability to contemplate the Platypus and decide if it was what I wanted
Being able to use Glock mags is huge!! I have plenty of them. I did however get a Staccato XC and it is amazing, but the mags are super expensive. I am very interested in picking up the Platypus now because I can use my existing mags and the customization is so cool.
Regarding the comments on the OA 2311, I see why you might say that (not being different enough... or cheap enough... or being left behind), but I disagree. You mentioned wanting a pinned grip safety on the Platypus - the 2311 eschews the grip safety altogether. The 2311 uses an external extractor (like Staccato), better for long term reliability. The 2311 has a polymer grip module, allowing for aftermarket modification to suit the shooter. The 2311 uses a linkless barrel, eliminating a possible point of failure. It also has an ambi slide release (not sure how common that is on any 1911/2011). The 2311 has standard, ambi thumb ledges (not just textured indexing points). Saying that the market has moved past the 2311 is a tad... shortsighted... IMO. That said, I love what Stealth Arms is doing with the Platypus and plan to get one as soon as the wait times come down a bit.
@1911syndicate totally agree and I don't like OA marketing and customer service peeps. Very arrogant and acted like pompous a holes, atleast to me they did.
@@navyvet7138 The only negative customer service experience I've had with them is how slow they are. They had my 2311 Compact for service for over a month and didn't give me an update on it until I reached out to them. They could definitely up their service game. But they were always nice/professional (just slow). Service can make or break a business, so I hope your experience was an anomaly.
I have a lefty safety only on my platty, so safety on the right side of the gun only. All I had to do was call and ask them to do it for me and they said sure! No problem or questions asked. Customer service is top notch and can’t be beat. That to me makes it a custom gun not just customizable.
Fyi, for those of you who haven't built one. The Armor Black color is no charge. Other cerakote colors vary in price. Fortunately for me, when i built my pistol in Tungsten and Midnight Blue, this was not the case. Good looking pistol. Great shooter, IMO I also have an Armor Black with Prickle grip. That grip is a bit on the rough side for me. The standard checkered grip feels good and control is fine
Been waiting for your stamp of approval on this one. Good video. Yours is strikingly similar to the one i customized on their site. Sorta sandhawk at home theme. 😆
Oh Hell yeah a Platypus is an awesome gun just got done completing an order on one earlier today. All fde all the way Jake yours looks very close to what mine is gonna be.
You my friend are one of a total of two gun tubers that I truly believe when they say something. I do not believe I have ever heard a gun review from someone that was gifted a gun but yet, I still feel that I trusted every word of. This is due to your knowledge of the various platforms you speak on and the lack of the tatical poser act that dominates YT currently. I truly hope you grow to be the #1 gun channel on YT. We need many more just like you.
Fusion Firearms XP Pro 2011 was just released and takes Glock mags. A lot less money. Good reviews. Take a look and maybe we could see a video from you comparing the XP Pro to the Platypus.
Not strictly turkey. The American company Fusion owned by the former president of Dan Wesson 1911s went to one of the best manufacturers in Turkey and designed the gun. The gun is assembled in Florida as well as all repairs and warranty work will be performed in Florida by them.
If the gun is anything like their garbage azz 2011 triggers (the actual trigger itself, then I want no part of it. I remember a few years ago when the trigger shoe was falling off the trigger bar on almost all of them.
I met these guys a few years back, super nice and really engaging for feedback. They started out with one grip and it was super slick. Then they got feedback on that and they made a more aggressive grip. I think it is the one you got and to me it was so damn prickly I couldn’t stand it. So literally the grip has held me back from trying to get one of these. All else seems great about it… but if I can’t stand the grips I can’t buy the gun…
Been waiting for this one, man. If I had to undo my Staccato C2 DPO Limited for something else, it would be the Platypus. I went from a G17 to the Staccato and I have a bazillion G17 mags. I'm more than happy with the C2 but the Platypus is super intriguing.
Only thing I wish that stealth arms did was a nitro fin or thumbrest. I wish the the magwell was bigger. Big dog steel offers a holster to fit the gun without a light. There is another Fusion makes a steel frame 2011 ish gun that takes Glock mags.
Their gun builder is the coolest thing I've seen the firearms industry. I think I have built 20 different set ups now and I don't think I have broken $2,500. Insane. I'm ordering one.
I've had my platypus for almost a year. I shot limited optics in USPSA for about 6 months with it until I got my Masterpiece Arms DS9. It's a great gun. It's just not a good gun if you're the kind of guy that likes to upgrade components over time. It shoots 100% reliable. But for competition, it just doesn't compare to my 53 oz DS9. Mostly because of how light it is. If they came out with a steel frame version it would be insanely better. But I'm looking at it strictly in the competition sense. For a range gun it is good to go. And for people bitching about 2011 mags, buy MBX mags. I've got close to 10,000 rounds through my DS9 with zero malfunctions.
Ngl, I saw a lot of comments talking about the color of your platy and though I agree it does look beautiful, I will say I’ve never seen a group of dudes but so hard over… brown, and lighter brown 😂😂😂😂.
I have a Platypus, an OA Defense 2311 and I have a Fusion Firearms/Ermox XP Pro on order. I like unique things. You should review the 2311, it’s wildly different from the Platypus actually. The Platypus is my favorite 1911 platform pistol, easily better in almost every way than the Stacatto I’ve owned and it’s hard to call it outright better than the 2311, but it is very much different. I especially love the trigger on the Platypus. Mine is like a light switch, on and off. I also enjoy the fact that with the aluminum 1-piece milled frame, the grip is slimmer and not as bulky in the hand, which a lot of people have issues with on many widebody 1911s and 2011s. I’m excited for the XP Pro, but I don’t expect it to dethrone the Platypus. But it is smaller, so it’ll be more of a carry friendly option for most people.
I think the xp pro was an excellent idea. Take an existing platform, give it to the Americans to make better and then sell to the market at an affordable price. The good news is if you can afford the xp pro, you’re not far off from the platypus. I think any 1911/2011 guy/gal should have one
Agreed - I have a couple of 2311s (the OG 5" and a compact) and they are at/near the top of my list of favorites. Would definitely love to see The Syndicate review them.
Counterpoint.. I also have a platypus (commander length) and a 2311 (compact pro plus). One works fine (platypus) and the other couldn't make it through a mag without a ftf and has been in warranty for over 2 months. OA tells me they're done and are going to send it back asap with quite a few extra goodies for my troubles, which is nice of them, but brings to question QC in the first place as well as the fact that 2 months is a LONG warranty process and I still don't have a shipping notification. Now, the platypus is nothing special, but if anyone wants to get into 2011's/doublestack 1911's it's easy to point them in that direction since it's a better staccato c2 (if you order the commander) than the staccato c2. 5 inch gov to staccato p is a tougher sell since the P is steel framed and is slightly shorter than 5" and if you wanted a duty or do all gun at introductory prices I'd prob still tell them to get a P. Still, if price isn't an issue I'd go straight to custom/semicustom for anything range/duty/competition oriented and I actually think the Wilson edcx9 and sfx9 line are the best carry guns when you take into account carry ergos.
@@klee1410 You're the second person I've heard comment on the reliability of the 2311... and I definitely think that speaks to OD's quality control. That said, I've never had a single failure with either of my 2311s... though I did have to send my compact in for warranty work on the trigger (gritty even well after break-in) and safety (mushy with no positive feedback on activate/deactivate). But both handguns have been 100% reliable. Hate to hear your experience has been different.
The only thing that concerns me is that they do not anodize the aluminum frame before cerakote. Since anodizing treats the metal surface itself, I’m a little hesitant to pick one up. Just saw one that came apart at the frame near the beaver tail and not sure if anodizing would’ve made a difference or not. Just a thought.
After handling tons of guns this year. I feel very confident that for the 2k price range the Dan Wesson DWX. I’d pick it over a stacatto and today I got to shoot a watchtower 2011, nit sure the model but I’d had a comp and was extremely extremely nice. That would be my 3k choice for sure. But since I still have a kids, and a wife, my budget will probably start with a MAC or Tissas. I’ve also been a CZ/Beretta/Sig2XX fan. I enjoy my 1911’s but single stack is so much reloading for competition. I only carry a 1911 for backwoods and hunting protection in 10mm. I’m going to have to present a new gun budget to the finance committee for this year, last years budget will not alllow me to acquire the equipment I need to protect my home and family in case of super fast ninjas attack and I need a high capacity super accurate pistol that I can shoot super fast. And I’ll need more than one, two is one and one is none, plus additional options for comparing, we want to make sure we choose the proper pistols for defense against aliens, ninjas, and the occasional ninja turtle. If the committee tries to shut down the new budget I’m am prepared to remind them that since I’ve taken over as defense we have had zero altercations with tigers, monitor lizards, Sasquatch, great white sharks, man eating anacondas, mma trained kangaroos among many other serious threats we men face and keep away every day.
I looked at the platypus for a while but decided i wanted a higher mid-tier double-stack 1911. I'm getting a mpa ds9 hybrid. Shooting idpa and steel challenge, i think that will work better for me. Platypus is nice though.
So i just built my platypus on their site. I built one when they first came out as well and i remember it being around $1600-1700. This time it came to $2200. Did the the platypus get a decent price increase since it was released? $2200 is getting into staccato/bul armory territory. For that price i think i rather have the new tac comp for not much more. Btw platypus should 💯 add a ported slide and barrel from factory.
I have a Platypus, and it is, by far, the best handgun I've ever shot, much less owned. Every tiny detail has thought and attention paid. Even the thread protector is uni-directional, and has a rubber silicone O-ring to keep carbon off the threads. It is EASILY as reliable, with zero break-in, as an out-of-the-box Glock. They even ship it in a gorgeous padded case, with 2 OEM Glock mags, not PMAGs. Their customer service is the best ive ever seen, and I can text the owner/CEO of the company if i have an issue, and he will get back to me within a day. I couldn't possibly recommend this more, and if i could only grab one sidearm in the apocalypse, it would be my Platypus! I gkt the HEAVIEST factory trigger, at 4lbs, and it is perfectly crisp and smooth. I recommend that if you plan to carry this, use it for duty, or primarily shoot polymer-framed, striker-fired handguns. I also recommend AGAINST window cuts on the slide. It cycles PERFECTLY without, suppressed or unsuppressed, and why get such a reliable gun, only to add additional pathways into the gun for dirt and debris? I carry it on my battle belt with a foam earplug in the barrel, which keeps out debris, and which disintegrates and does not obstruct the bore.
Thank you again for another great and entertaining review, at some point I would really like to see you do a review on a 10mm… something that would be worth carrying in bear country…
I think this is the first comment I’ve seen where someones actually had a major malfunction with the Platypus….not to say that some of the ones they put out don’t have problems to say but I think the overall consensus is that’s it’s really reliable and incredibly rare to have a malfunction in anyway with one of these firearms.
If I had a nickel for everytime I’ve went on stealth arms website and built out a Platypus, I’d have enough money to buy one of those Platypus that I built out
😂😂😂

I run the Staccato P as well and have no desire to run anything else. When perfection has been achieved you embrace it.
So glad you finally reviewed this. I’m just curious what duty style holsters this will fit in
The bonus of the 2011 is that most of then allow you to shoot 9mm major. Which can't be done in lesser firearms due to not supporting the case properly. (Glock)
I think the best part about this is that you can use the fun sticks and whisper pickle. Making it a good home defense option
The Platy is definitely customizable 😎
I have two of the Platypus pistols, one bull barrel and one bushing barrel.
Yessir, custom and customizable as you put it are vastly different things
@@ManleyArts yeah I’ve heard the Pro gives the XC a run for its money-I’m definitely not in the 5k-6k race gun market at the moment 😅
Thank you for the outstanding review!
I appreciate your videos, they are quality with truth, and it’s appreciated very, very much.
Bought mine last year before the update on the bull barrel and hand grip. Gunna have to buy another. Incredible weapon for the price. Not one malfunction no matter the ammo.
XP Pro from fusion firearms released last month. Same concept of all aluminum and Glock mags.
I bought the rock island double stack 1911...love it and has never failed
Fusion firearm, is a 2011 thats cheaper than platypus and it also takes glock mags.
Jake, can you post the build details for this pistol, specifically the color scheme, and what parts are colored what? Love to replicate this build whenever Stealth allows customs again. The Syndicate always has great taste.
World class pistol, and a great review/piece.
If you had to use only one for the worst case scenario, would you choose the platypus or a H&K USP tactical?
Pretty cool option for sure for the 2011 platform. Good review and thanks!
9mm
To each their own, it there’s nothing about the 2311 I find appealing
Just wanted to point out Staccato only uses an external extractor on the C and CS models. Every other Staccato uses an internal extractor.
@1911syndicate totally agree and I don't like OA marketing and customer service peeps. Very arrogant and acted like pompous a holes, atleast to me they did.
@@stadce Fair point and it was one of the key reasons I picked up the C over the P.
I used a shock buff to "pin" my grip safety. Took 10 minutes. Love this thang.
Hey, please explain this further, I feel like my platy’s grip safety has too much give or “travel” for me. How does a buffer help? Thanks brother
@@GUNSnDOZESI’m also wanting to know how to do this. Please let me know if you found out how? Thanks
I bought one November of last year. My platypus out shoots both my Staccato C2s. The grip also feels smaller.
Fyi, for those of you who haven't built one. The Armor Black color is no charge.
Other cerakote colors vary in price. Fortunately for me, when i built my pistol in Tungsten and Midnight Blue, this was not the case. Good looking pistol. Great shooter, IMO
I also have an Armor Black with Prickle grip. That grip is a bit on the rough side for me. The standard checkered grip feels good and control is fine
Got mine over a month ago and have not had a chance to shoot it yet. But looks, yeah, it’s awesome!
Been waiting for your stamp of approval on this one. Good video. Yours is strikingly similar to the one i customized on their site. Sorta sandhawk at home theme. 😆
100% sandhawk vibes
Very Sandhawk vibes
Awesome! you gave some clarity to what a 1911 is and 2011 is
StealthArms just started painting the parts for my Platypus, i am Excited 😮😊
Ooooooo
Platypus vs. Fusion xp pro would be a comparison I’d love to see!
I always thought the price of a Platapus was much higher. Now it has entered my possible list along with a Bull Armory.
Thanks for the detailed video.
Glock mag 1911A2. The 1911A2 was Para Ordnance double stack 1911 that used proprietary mags. This just revives the concept
Thank you, I was curious about this pistol, and you answered pretty much every question I had.
Oh Hell yeah a Platypus is an awesome gun just got done completing an order on one earlier today. All fde all the way Jake yours looks very close to what mine is gonna be.
Sweet!!
Awesome video fellas!
Thanks gents
What a great video. Learned alot and now I have another one to add to the list!! And what a name! PRODIGY, STACCATO , PLATYPUS !!!!
Thanks bro I appreciate that
Who is the other one? Better be Yankee Marshall 😊
Love the video, checked out their website and the customization is just incredible.
Cool video and you couldn't have nailed the color scheme better dude that thing is sexy
Agreed that gun just looks clllleeaaan
I would like to know what color codes he chose.
Fusion Firearms XP Pro 2011 was just released and takes Glock mags. A lot less money. Good reviews. Take a look and maybe we could see a video from you comparing the XP Pro to the Platypus.
No!
Turkey
@@andrewcramer7214 Mmmm, Turkey
Not strictly turkey. The American company Fusion owned by the former president of Dan Wesson 1911s went to one of the best manufacturers in Turkey and designed the gun. The gun is assembled in Florida as well as all repairs and warranty work will be performed in Florida by them.
If the gun is anything like their garbage azz 2011 triggers (the actual trigger itself, then I want no part of it. I remember a few years ago when the trigger shoe was falling off the trigger bar on almost all of them.
How would you rate this against the Staccato P, and the Bul Armory Tac Pro? Great video btw! Trying to decide what my first "2011" should be. Thanks!
Gen 1-er. Love the gen 2 additions. Bucket list.
Ive been eyeing these for a while. Might be a birthday present this year
I met these guys a few years back, super nice and really engaging for feedback.
If a grip is too much, you just rub some sand paper on it. I have modified all of my funs. It's easy once you learn to let go. Life is fleeting.
Great video. I'm on the Stealth Arms website building one out now. Thanks, and keep making great content.
🤙🏻
Been waiting for this one, man. If I had to undo my Staccato C2 DPO Limited for something else, it would be the Platypus. I went from a G17 to the Staccato and I have a bazillion G17 mags. I'm more than happy with the C2 but the Platypus is super intriguing.
Fusion Firearms has their XP Pro that takes Glock mags.
Only thing I wish that stealth arms did was a nitro fin or thumbrest. I wish the the magwell was bigger. Big dog steel offers a holster to fit the gun without a light. There is another Fusion makes a steel frame 2011 ish gun that takes Glock mags.
Hush holsters seem good for suppressor holsters. I had to modify it a little to be comfortable for me getting a grip though.
Fusion is now doing this same style gun
Awesome review bro! 😎 definitely gonna get one of these myself
Glad you liked it
Excellent review. Cool gun, killer price and features.
Spent 800$ resell for mine pick up sometime next week very excited🥴
Ngl, I saw a lot of comments talking about the color of your platy and though I agree it does look beautiful, I will say I’ve never seen a group of dudes but so hard over… brown, and lighter brown 😂😂😂😂.
Uhhh Scars and their fifty shades of FDE
"So to sum it up, it's weird as shit!" 😂 I fukn love it!!
nice lighting
Crispy thanks you sir
i have one and it was worth every penny and the long wait time. guys GO BUY yours today you will not regret it!!
The fact that you’re speaking highly of the platty boi makes me wanna check one out. I thought it was a gimmick at first, but now I’m intrigued. 🏴🦍
What has your experience been with holster compatibility?
I looked at the platypus for a while but decided i wanted a higher mid-tier double-stack 1911. I'm getting a mpa ds9 hybrid. Shooting idpa and steel challenge, i think that will work better for me. Platypus is nice though.
Gonna need that fusion firearms xp pro next… THANK YOU
I’ve got a platypus and have been looking at those xp pros hard. Think it’s going to have to be my next 2011. The hard chrome is 🔥
@ that’s what I ordered is the chrome, I think I’m going to buy another non-threaded platypus next year 4.25 of course and maybe the OG grip for carry
Definitely interested in the xp pro. If they do an fde with a ported barrel I’ll be an owner
"... as horrible as glocks are". sir, you may very well be my new favorite guntuber! 😁😁
Hahaha
I couldn't agree more!
this was a long waited for review ... Thank you JAKE !
Cheers mate
Glad you made this video brother. Appreciate your review on it
So i just built my platypus on their site.
The Cerakote color pricing has changed depending on the color.
Why get an israeli gun
2:58 Could this Man be one of My people?
Just remember that asking a color of a weapon in court after a defensive usage is a valid question, and any color than black is helpful.
I've already seen one where the hammer attaches to the frame sheered off during regular range use.
🤷🏼♂️
I think this is the first comment I’ve seen where someones actually had a major malfunction with the Platypus….not to say that some of the ones they put out don’t have problems to say but I think the overall consensus is that’s it’s really reliable and incredibly rare to have a malfunction in anyway with one of these firearms.
Salutation from Geneva, Switzerland. Didn t expect to see it on your cap.
Just ordered mine couple of days ago .... Can't wait😂
As of my knowledge staccato and oracle arms are the only two double stack compact 15rd 1911s..
Dammit man. I wasnt really interested in one until the into with you edplaining what an actual platypus is. Now i NEED one.
Ayyy I talked to you guys at the Thor Targets booth in January about this pistol. I've had one since March this year.
Excellent Review very well done & informative
ill take this in 10mm
