Buying my Blackstone and finding this channel has been some of the highlights of my 2023! Can’t wait to cook along you in this new year! Thanks for all you do.
Hey boogie, I don't comment much but I have to say this is one of your best videos - thank you. You share the "why" of cooking more than just the "what to do" that so many other cooking channels have. It's an actual education. I feel like you may not even know you're doing this but your comments of why you do things certain ways is so valuable to people that don't have culinary training. Keep it up!
Man I gotta tell you all. Your dynamic between the two of you is awesome. I love the way your wife compliments what your doing so well. Happy new years to you and your family and look forward to the great cooks in the future
Who else would watch Neal and Sam the cooking guy do a cook off together and then have ballistic BBQ be the judge I think Sam and Neal would get along great happy new years Neal to you and your family love from South Africa
A tradition of mine for decades was to order Chinese takeout on New Year’s Day. 2 Years ago we ordered 2 entrees and 2 appetizers and the bill was $48.00. I hung up on them and vowed to learn how to make it at home. After a couple months with practice, a wok, and few simple tools and with recipes from UA-cam just like this I make far better than take out dishes. This dish looks amazing, thanks. We are adding chili crunch to our jalapeño poppers mix tomorrow, it’s a fridge staple in our house. Thank you for the clip.
Grow your own peppers. You get what you like, pick them at their absolute peak. And no messin with the masses at the store. Lovin your videos. Just got my Blackstone and getting a ton of ideas from you.
My very first cook on my converted Webber barbecue, now with full size griddle top was a smash burger which we loved. My second attempt was this stir fry recipe and it was superb! It is my new favorite. I am going to make up a jar of the mixture of sauces to have ready for when I want to do it again or add a little sauce to any leftovers at lunchtime. Thank you so much. I have been binge watching your Wonderful videos. ( your my go to family for instruction and recipes.Thank you so much for all you do and all of the teaching you do. I have found it invaluable in my quest to learn new skills at the age of 74.😘
Great video and content. Happy New Year! Received a 22” Blackstone for Christmas from the gf. Really appreciate your latest videos in using the 22”. May 2024 be an awesome year for you and Amy!!
Now that even looks good. Thanks for sharing with us Neil and Amy. I'm running a week behind so I'll be catching up. Keep the great recipes coming. Fred.
Dang it Neal!! I've watched and tried MANY of your recipes but this one goes to the TOP of my "gotta try" list. Now I don't even want my New Year's traditional menu 🤤😍🤤 Happy New Year!
Oh, man, I so feel you on eating bad stir fry from a restaurant. That's what got me into cooking in the first place! The flat top is such a game changer - large surface area, high temperatures, and no dishes. I'll trade the 5-minute cleanup for no pans any day. Thanks for your inspiration.
Love the video. I agree that takeout Chinese food comes up short on flavor more often than not. Will definitely give this a try. Oh yeah, love the crockpot idea as well. Thanks for all y’all do.
Great video again TFTK! Do you seriously get comments about sharing a spoon with your wife while you cook for your family? Good grief. Keep doing you and making these great videos. Happy New Year!
Absolutely 100 almost every single day...how disgusting it its to eat after me or her...thats cross contamination....heck you name it they say it....I just roll my eyes in disbelief.....not like we kiss or anything...
I love the idea of the chili crunch and garlic with the noodles! I’m definitely trying that! For the video style… I personally like a little shorter video where you do some editing and have some of the prep work done off camera. Happy New Year! 🎉
34 Degree Weather? 😢 Your northern neighbors are chuckling. South/North Dakota are still in light jackets. 😂 I'm still cooking outside. No problem. Now I do something that's a No No. When it's actually cold I griddle in my heated garage (With The Doors Open). 4 to -? When we're getting cold. 😅 But you southerners close down when you get a dusting of snow. 😮 I say this all tongue and cheek. Love you guys. Up here we do love our Crock Pots, & Casroles (Sp?) We call the Hot Dishes. But you guys are awesome. God forbid you share a spoon. 😅 Stay Warm & Be Blessed. 😊 ❤ Y'all. Shawn
We got creative based on a couple of your stir fry ideas. We made shrimp and crab meat with fresh veggies, we tried it without the noodles and used zucchini and shrooms. We made Texas toast with a cheese topping also on the 22-inch griddle. We are going to try this one as well, so appreciate your recipes. Happy New Year to all!!
1. never tire of your videos! 2. Yes, do a "Crocks, Grills, and Pits" channel" OK? I'll send you my sister's Mexican meat mix for your first slow cooker recipe because it's that good :) Even if I don't agree with everything you do (Yeast haha) I love the content you guys produce. So keep up the good work team Neal and Amy!! Mr. US Navy man, your tool skills on the grill are something to be humbled by. Incredible... This looks so good, I'm going to do it on the Evo soon.
You are correct sir! Prepping your food and adding what “YOU” like is what it’s all about. Looks delicious! The Vol’s and LSU got it done but hoped to see the SEC finish it up🙄🙄
You forgot the sesame oil and the chopsticks! Like fresh garlic, it makes a difference, not to mention that the chopsticks make it last longer! 😊 Martin Yan almost always started his dishes with ginger and garlic first in the wok followed by the meat and veggies and noodles or rice, but I always burned the garlic and ginger that way. I've discovered that the ginger and garlic can go in after the veggies soften up a bit and before the proteins are added. By then, the wok has cooled down a little and the garlic is less prone to burning. I still haven't tried it on the griddle yet! That's lookin' good! I love Chinese food! Some good Chinese restaurants around here - the benefits of living near a big university town!
Look forward to the crock pot vids! Also curious if there's an outdoor temp that makes using the griddle impractical? I grew up in SD and the winters were COLD cold and grilling wasn't practical certain times of the year. Until this video I never thought to ask the question to an expert though. Thanks and happy new years!
Honestly no...different things will happen...but typically its the person not the griddle that cant stand the cold...and others mention that when that cold propane will cease up...I lived in WY for several years as well... just the wind alone was horrible
Happened across your site and I loved it. Only thing, I couldn’t find a written recipe for what you made. Am I missing it somewhere? I’d love to try your teriyaki chicken.
First thank you...We try to include recipes with most videos like this...but not enough time...we are actually working on one now...we have other recipes available on our website theflattopking.com
Hi Neal and Amy, Great video - thanks! Could you let us know what brand, size, and where you bought the black cutting board that you use that is on top of your grill cart please? All the best, John in NC
FTK, Mrs FTK, That looks amazing. My 2 cents bring on the crockpot. My other 2 cents resturant by me makes a chicken cheese steak sandwich also very popular here are mexican tortas. Happy new year. Peace Luke T
That looks delicious! A food truck near my daughters house serves fried rice, a protein of your choice and veggies, each has its own sauce or flavors, so I made my own version on my Blackstone. I use Yoshida teriyaki sauce which is really good on the chicken, traditional fried rice with soy sauce and sesame oil, then a homemade stir fry sauce from “Sam the Cooking Guy” which is fabulous, they all have separate flavor profiles just like you said, on the veggies, reducing down the sauce until it’s thick. Better than any restaurant! I also like to use Go Chu Jang any time chili sauce is needed, it’s a sweet/savory chili sauce, it’s amazing if you haven’t tried it. I’ve heard of the crunchy chili sauce, will definitely try it. And lastly, fresh garlic is better, the garlic in the tube is not bad, but not as flavorful. Another great flat top video! Looks FABULOUS!
Dude, that looks almost as good as Navy yakisoba! You'll have to try that some time. 🤣🤣🤣😇😇😇 Seriously though, It looks absolutely incredible. I love the crockpot idea. I'd love to see a remake of the Mississippi Pot Roast.
Your wife’s voice sounds like Chrissie Everett’s voice. She’s one of the greatest tennis players of all time and now a fantastic TV ESPN commentator…your voice was made for camera commentating! Sorry for my unique observation of the day. Took my third time watching this video before I figured that out. Your videos have been very helpful, thanks for all the help. I’m prepping to try this recipe this weekend.
Good question! I think you could easily make this potion and just have a leftover for another day...cutting it in half would be easy and tough....easy to say less ingredients but tough in the idea of the amounts...
You mentioned to try different Soy sauces in this video. Curious if you use the Sushi/Sashimi soy sauce on occasion for a hint of sweetness to go with the saltiness of the sauce?
@@TheFlatTopKing on a gas range. Have to season it just like Halo griddle…..wash off mfg oil dry it and thin layer oil preheat oven at 400° for 1 hour. I did that twice. I really like cooking with it!

The crock pot sounds like a great idea everyone has one and no need to freeze to death for the whole cook 😀
ahhahaha no kidding...
Standing over a 36” steel griddle surface that’s pushing 450F keeps me plenty warm. But then again I live in Florida
Man I gotta tell you all. Your dynamic between the two of you is awesome. I love the way your wife compliments what your doing so well. Happy new years to you and your family and look forward to the great cooks in the future

That would be the crown jewel for me.....I like him as well...heck reach out to him...maybe he would say something
Oh heck yes!!! I'd definitely be up for that! Especially if Sam is wasted :D
