There is one major flaw with this design, and its the fact that there is nothing holding the locking bar in place inside the slot you cut out. Assuming you manufacture this (most likely 3d printed, lets be honest) it will go into the slot, then either be stuck in the vertical portion due to no tolerances added for a good fit or it will get stuck or be too loose inside the horizontal portion. Good idea in theory, bad idea in practice.
You could also make it like a bayonet mount, where the angle of the slot and the diameter of the male end locks it into place with friction. Its essentially the same as you designed except its sloped by 5 degrees or so and the male part is a couple of tenths of a millimeter smaller then the slot width.
@@zizor1759 sorry I wasn't very specific. I am working on a similar mechanism with a gasket to make the union water tight. I was having trouble getting any kind of friction fit on the slot. I was starting to wonder if maybe there was a better option for like a safety bottle lock? like it locks in place and only comes undone when pressed then twisted back. Also, struggling to get the offset face command to make a taper and not just a flat offset
IF YOU ARE GOING TO 3D PRINT
Make sure that the offset of the small square is at least 0.15mm because otherwise you will not have enough tolerance
I really like your video and it's a great idea to work with the Emboss feature
Thanks so much
Awsome
you made that look so easy, thanks!
Welcome to Your channel. And your welcome 😊❤️
Hi 3D Print Hub! Fascinating mechanism! We'd love to collaborate on a video with your team, would you be open to that?
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing
Nice! Could you post a download link to this project?
Sure, I'll do that after applying some changes.
Hi, any updates on this? :)

@@zizor1759 got any links to this?
@@luke53285 I mean i have made my own design with a bayonet mount, but if you are asking for tutorials then i dont.

How did you separate them for printing?
There are two separated files at all
instead of stl use 3mf and you can seperate the bodys in the slicer
The only thing missing is offset.
I set the offset but it cloud be better
