- Reviewing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 5G budget smartphone, costing under £300 in the UK. This well-specced phone lacks some of the polish of the Pro version, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G still boasts a 108MP camera, HyperOS shenanigans, a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen and 5000mAh battery. But how's the gaming experience, is that camera any good, and does the battery life suck? I've been testing it as my full time phone for a week now so here's the review!
My take-away verdict is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G makes quite a few compromises to reach that sub-£300 budget price. For one, gamers will be disappointed if trying to play anything more complex than PubG. Genshin Impact is very much a no-no!
Battery life has been hit and miss too. For now, I'm just about getting a full day of play from the Redmi Note 13 5G, but camera play drains it fast. Likewise, I miss the super-fast charging of Xiaomi's Pro and Pro Plus models. And HyperOS can be a bit janky at times, especially when using gesture navigation!
Still, the AMOLED display is a stunner for this price point and this is the only Note 13 phone to offer expandable storage and a headphone jack in the UK. But I would say, if possible, upgrade to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G instead!

you know the problem with this lineup is that there are the 4g and 5g versions of the non-pro and the pro (pro+ only has the 5g), and sadly the difference in performance between the 4g & 5g versions is massive, locally we don't have the 5g versions expect for the pro+, and the 4g are priced very high for what they offer.
I mean if Xiaomi wanted to lose a market share purposely then they sure did a great job.

Eastern Asia doesn't have wide coverage of 5G yet, and their biggest market is here.

I really dont understand why Xiaomi insists on releasing so many phones with minimal differences throughout the year in this price range...

I love it honestly, imagine seeing two phones with the same specs but one has what I would call a better design and can sometimes even be found at a lower price point

2. Market share
3. People like shiny new things.
The more they can drown out their competitors, the more market share they will gain and the more private data they can farm off people and sell.
Wasn't expecting a return to Redmi review. Also a surprise Threads mention, which is funny to me cause I remembered a comment on previous videos hating on FB when you show/mention it.
Yeah and funnily it now has (according to a local android site here in Sweden) 150 million monthly users

I think rather than in display finger print side mouth is best one thing screen broke from below and I was not able to open phone because the in display was not working

I find it sad and mading that the pro models don't have expandable storage. Also I checked online - in my country (Austria) you can only buy the 4G model or the Pro models from Xiaomi directly, the 5 G base models needs to come from other sources. Spec wise I was quiet impressed with the Redmi Note 11 a two years ago, but it had very outdated software even back then.

I HATE the flat edge phone design. I did not know ho unbelievably uncomfortable is it to hold for multiple hours until I bought the nothing phone 2a. Returned it after 3 days

I have a 10 pro . Great phone but for some reason the WiFi speed is much slower than everyone else's phone? So this is putting me off getting another Xiaomi..for example everyone in my house getting 300mb I'm only getting 110mbs...no idea why

I feel regretful that I bought this phone because the camera is not good and the screen is like colors that I did not feel were good and UA-cam comments a lot on this device when I follow the content and the video is slow sometimes

Wife is very happy with her prettyish purple Poco M6 Pro 12GB Ram 512Rom bought for under €200. Overall seems just as good as this Redmi. Didn't need 5G so not really missing out....

Sorry, but what Redmi gave us for this sort of price about 3 years was so infinitely better with the Redmi Note 10 Pro compared to what we have now where somehow the standard model is now it's price and if you want anything even remotely close to the highs of that old Redmi you're going to have to stump up like an extra 100 to 200 quid oh and don't even get me started on if you can't even reach that budget, since before you had plenty of choice with standard and S models but now you might as well kick yourself in the baIIs

That’s made for kids- I’m delighted Xiaomi kept the ergonomics capped in peanuts which is perfect for grubby hands.
***What would you consider is the whiskey version- if to remain Dolby Visible.

This phone is dope for its price and I'm using it now.
It's true note 13 4g isn't as good as 5g
But 4g version really has no bugs.
After hyperos i haven't seen any bugs.
I prefer less performance with no bugs over more performance with lots of bugs.
