was not a fan of the previous model's exterior design, however they've made some awesome design changes in this current model, looks like a very handsome suv.
This vehicle doesn't identify as a male. Can you please amend your comment from Handsome to Pretty or else you will be cancelled

😮 You have got to be joking, it's purely a descriptive word, it's not too precious to be utilised in this format.
I wouldn't call it handsome as it doesn't please me, but if it pleases someone so, handsome it can be.
Someone needs a life to enjoy, gees. 😂

Mahindra believes in frugal engineering i.e. giving more ( > competition) with less input costs and that frugality turns out to be expensive in the long run.

@Paul, the tyre is Apollo, an Indian brand, which is worlds’ top 15 tyre manufacturer. Not a fan of all their models but they have great tyres too. Apollo owns the Vredestein tyre brand of Netherlands. They also had tie ups with Michelin and Continental, in the past.
So, not top 10 then? 😁
Apollo is a reliable tyre brand in India.
It stops better than the Mazda even in the wet .Not bad
Indian tyres (Apollo) are well built for wet terrain

4 months isn't a long time

@ronaldochristiano3761 i got 3 of them running in my taxi fleet with 150k+ on all of them.

Bought one today 🎉 for the price point cant do better when you need 6 seats in Australia.
Damn commendable effort by Mahindra for the 700 series. I happened to see one on display at a local shopping mall and upon approaching thought that the bonnet was unlatched. Closer inspection revealed massive shut lines all about the vehicle; nice interior but those piano black surfaces were already heavily scratched/blemished and dumbfounded as to the certain high level of luxuries (Merc-like front driver seat controls, all manual for passenger side, Tesla like pop out door handles but halogen rear taillights). An interesting mix, and well priced.
Only the reversing lights are not LED, the brake lights and rear indicator lights are LED.
14:09 that shot is 🔥🔥🔥
Cracking value at 39k and it’s fairly reliable based on reports from India. Kmpl is the fuel efficiency standard in India, but like Mazda here (which doesn’t allow change from l/100 to anything else)
It’s not reliable.
It's very reliable. This is my 8th year of ownership, no complaints

Paul like to remind you not everyone lives in the city. In regional Victoria digital radio is still years away so the fact the car doesn't have DAB digital radio is irrelevant to some of us.
But relevant to the other 99% of us though.
@chillimocha we are a very urbanised populace but we are a long way short of 99% of Australians living in the city. Anyway my comment was just a reminder that not everyone lives in city / suburban areas.
Radio is outdated.
i fail to understand this obsession with radio. Spotify and youtube premium are far far superior options. i dont even consider DAB a feature thats relevant anymore
@sidjyothi I only listen to AM radio. I don't have Spotify and I'm too much of a tight arse to pay for UA-cam Premium
Gooday mate!! Wow finally we get to XUV700 👍
Hey Paul! Love the work you do! Been following you for quite a while now. I use this exact car here in India. Seems like you have missed enabling this feature “Smart Pilot Assist” for testing the autonomous driving! That isn’t the same as lane keep assist which veers too close to the lane markings for comfort. The former keeps the car dead center and I use it here in Indian condition quite extensively! Do try that out. 18:09
I won't trust Indian technology
Definitely missed it!
@@brokenSnake Yeah Especially if you are from Porkistan 😂
It’s 4th video i am watching about Mahindra vehicles and man oh man, you guys review the vehicle brutally😂 no soft corner and i love this kind of reviews
And one thing I noticed that Mahindra have launched only petrol version in Australia not the diesel version (which is available in India and i might be wrong) because in the diesel version you will have different drive modes known as Zip, Zap, Zoom and a custom mode where you can customise the drive feel as per your likings and the top end model comes with AWD (All Wheel Drive)
And yes one more thing to add, the model name AX7L the “L” stands for Luxury, which differs it from AX7 model with the features like Sony’s 12 speakers system, 360 degree camera, Electronic Parking Brake etc.
As someone in the US (Miami), it's always interesting to see the somewhat off the beaten track options available in Oz. In a former life, I was a subcontractor to vehicle OEM's (selling enclosed truck space for film shoots, events and prototype transport) and chased Mahindra USA, for a short while. Their only focus stateside is farm equipment (they have brought in their version of the Jeep Wrangler but, short of some adventurous buyers, have never seen one in the wild.) Given Oz's relative proximity to Asia, as a whole, it stands to reason that consumers would be less judgmental when it comes to vehicles from the likes of India and China / Korea to a lesser extent. I spent 20 (formative) years in Singapore, so don't hold the same prejudices (My brother lives in Brisbane). Always a pleasure to run into your reviews, Paul. Thank you for the content, kind sir.
I don't think Australia's proximity to Asia has anything to do with their acceptance of less famous brands. It's just that Americans are too stubborn and brand loyal to even consider a brand that hasn't been in America for at least 30 years.
@@yissibiiyteit's not accepting brands it's accepting what you can afford, Chinese utes are half the price of jap ones, if u need a ute but on a budget u don't have a choice
@@yissibiiyteI suspect it's the US lemon laws.
Any car company trying to pass off shoddy vehicles will go broke quick in the states.
I'm amazed Jeep survives, if they're the same as the ones Australia gets.
I think reason Mahindra has launched its passenger vehicles in Australia and South Africa but not in USA has more to do with the fact that these countries all have Right Hand Drive, same as in India. Vehicles in USA and most of the rest of the world have Left Hand Drive.

Hi Paul. Great review as always but what happened to the cabin road noise test? Warm regards in the cold weather.
the 4WD variant of the XUV700 should be on it's way to Australia by Nov - Dec 2023 . . .
Awd not 4wd
I have been driving mine xuv700 for 6 months. Best purchase ever made. Excellent driving.
Could you please comment on the cabin noise of XUV 700? Is it better than other mid sized SUV's or similar to them? I have renault koleos which is a great car but the cabin noise is a down side of this car in my opinion.
Thanks.
Hey Paul, Have u done a review with the new updated Subaru Crosstrek (Previously named XV in Australia) that just came to Australia? Really looking forward to a detailed review of that one!
In India we get both the 2.0L turbo-Petrol and 2.2L turbo-Diesel with FWD & Manual / Auto trans as standard, but the Diesel Automatic gets the option of an AWD version as well !
Sad that its FWD only.... and no Diesel for Australia, seems strange.
@@AMLagondait's on the way...
I test drove this car today. Frankly, I couldn't believe how great it was. Solid and refined at the same time. A pleasure to sit in and drive. The suspension is so good I didn't notice I'd gone over a kerb. And it's a 7 seater!
If only there was more leg room in front as I'm 6ft2. For those 6ft and less, I have not found any better Petrol version, and I've test driven lots.
Since it's built to withstand Indian roads, it should be very reliable.
That I don't see more on the road in Australia tells me it's got to be a well kept secret..
If they had diesel or hybrid, and people knew how good it is, it'll be selling like hot cakes.
I prefer the configuration of the 6 seater Scorpio with the rear captains chairs.
I think that's for off-roading and XUV is family friendly?
Great review Paul. I’m a big fan of all your reviews. When are you going to review the new Honda ZRV?
Great review Paul; great car for the segment as well, I reckon.
I just found the styling of the car really interesting: looks like a Koleos from the front, the doors/side profile of a Velar almost, and like a smushed, flat MG4 at the rear.
This was released way before the MG4. The Velar’s side doesn’t look anything similar to this. The front is inspired by the front of the old XUV500.
It has global Ncap 5star rating
One of the finest review I have seen, Well done ✅
Great review as always Paul, but I think your maths on 8.3L/100km equalling 12 US MPG is WAY off the mark. 8.3L/100km equals 28.34 US MPG.
I have a suggestion for your channel, is if you can include servicing cost. I think especially in this current climate viewers will find that helpful.
This car is great for the price and is the best value for interior and exterior. He was saying the interior is not impressive compared to a oultander or other but to be honest those suv s are 15-25 thousand dollars more and aren't that cheap. He also made up that the engine start and stop when driving is a laggy feature doesn't work properly but it literally in ENGLISH says that press foot to break.
Thank you for the review
Always Love your honest rivews.

Well what makes you think this is not an established brand. It was established in 1945. Quiet an old brand and still doing great in India, for a reasonable value and affordable price compared to the competition.
Usually all Indian cars with auto start stop feature also gives you a button to disable it. I'm surprised this doesn't have it!!!

The reason why Paul, you're not happy with a few functions and quality because there's still not much competition in India for Mahindra. Foreign cars have extremely high tariff. Need to lower the tariffs further. Competition will make this and other Indian brands world class. Or else China will always be ahead of us.
Well the truth is there is a fair amount of competition in Indian market. While it's true that foreign cars face elevated tariffs, this mainly applies to CBU imports. In reality, numerous automakers such as Kia, Hyundai, Volkswagen group, Honda, and others have a significant presence in the market and wield substantial influence with their diverse product offerings. Moreover, a substantial amount of their vehicles are manufactured locally in India due to which they are priced similar to their Indian competitors.
Nah... That's actually not true.
I prefer the other badge of Mahindra the first because the other resembles Suzuki Murotti.
Please include sun visor coverage over the driver window!
I've only ever had one car that had extending sun visor.
Why don't more car makers include extending sun visors
Pajero has it as well
While reviewing, hardware components needs to be given much importance rather than software comonent
good car but no parts or service backup in australia, probably a good proposition to own in india but if you have a small bingle it will be off the road for months waiting for parts and they will be mega expensive

*Does it comes with AWD there because here in India it's also come with AWD*
not yet
The look resembles the new toyota Rush
Very good package by the looks of it, but I would gladly swap the third row of seats for parking sensors. Given its array of tech, and intended customer profile, this seems a strange omission.
So No AWD.. They missed the mark not offering that as an option. That takes it out of the SUV category and makes it a Station wagon..
They only offer AWD in diesel
Ok, about those apps which don't do anything... I think they don't work coz they are actually not supported in Australia.
