One other tip for Eclise in general as you move forward, sun is massively useful and sunflowers are easily replaced, where as expensive weapon plants are harder. Extra sunflowers in front can combo as both a shield and a boost in sun overall
Tip for Matt: All the secret levels unlock plants earlier than they normally appear in campaign, so it's just getting them earlier on. The secret levels are typically every ~5 or so levels and are typically really tough, but the plants can be really good rewards.
Tip: planting potato mines to stall zombies and stock up on sunflowers is a really good strat, especially if your playing a hard level dependent on sun
Yeah, although zombies appear on timers as well, if you kill all zombies too fast, it'll instantly spawn the next group, which can be lethal depending on what it adds.
Matt, you are actually playing Eclise beta 1.9, which is an older version. The mod is currently at Alpha 2, and the game basically got rebuilt from the ground up! However, since both versions are very different from each other, it's good to play through both, since both have their advantages. :D

If you want it for the p2w plants its not as good, as it will take more effort to get them and a lot of them have been nerfed or reworked, but you can also get a free shop mod on android for base pvz2 if that serves you better.
Eclise is a pretty cool mod. Its alot more about game knowledge and progresses alot more fairly and you don't need to spend money. It's harder depending but its alot more free and doesn't restrict you to as much as normal PVZ2 - which is good but not as good as playing as Elcise in my opinion. Love the content either way

@@vicked 400 sun isn't even expensive. It deals around four times the damage as in vanilla, but the firing rate is twice as slow. What I would consider very expensive is 1500 sun and higher, those ones I can't afford.

Eclise can be very hard sometimes, though, so here are some tips, that might come in handy, if you get stuck on a level: 1. Sunflowers are more replaceable than your damaging plants. The only thing I have against this of eclise ( I don't have anything against eclise ) but that eclise has so many balance changes that make it more balanced but it has a weird feel to get used to ( PS. just a thing to say is you won't really get most jokes because you have to have experience in the normal games but just somthing that's cool)
Yes, many of the plants are WAY more expensive than Vanilla. And, many vanilla players only use one column of sunflowers, which is a terrible thing to do in eclise.

I was a little skeptical of you moving on to mods so quickly at first, but honestly this just seems like what PvZ2 should've been from the start, and you clearly weren't enjoying the base game anyway! I'm really looking forward to more of this, and especially what your favorite plants, zombies and worlds will become over time with how much PvZ2 added!
Tip I thinks someone already said this, but try stalling the first few zombies by planting a potato mine, this way you could buy some sunflowers. This mod is pretty hard and you need some good micro management
About difficult levels in regular p2wz 2 there WERE really hard levels but they were removed from the game so most worlds reduced in size highly (like egypt went from 35 to 25 and one level in modern day famous for being used in 1v1v1 plant tests was removed with that update)
Fun fact: stalling is better than hurrying up due to the falling sun mechanic being less and less as the game goes on, you can get more higher power plants earlier.

I know that Eclise Mod is so much better than vanilla PVZ 2, but I still hope you go back and finish the Vanilla game, since although it's not perfect, it still has some interesting levels. You can even add in the Free Shop mod to get rid of all of the Microtransactions.
as a player of this mod, I really love the fact that you are playing eclise. it's a lot better than the vanilla pvz2, so it'll be better for you as well. and also I suggest you to upgrade this mod to alpha 2, the latest version. it has a lot of changes from beta 1.9.
Matt a useful tip is that bloomerang stun zombies for a moment when hit so 2 of them in a row can slow zombies down into a craw. Also they stop sandstorms and disbale shield of the shield mech in the far future levels.
It's available on mobile too,it adds a lot of plants and it's a pretty enjoyable experience, unlike vanilla Pvz2 that is full of microtransactioons and Pay to win plants.
Tip: I had made this strategy for quite a while.I usually put the Snapdragons behind the Bink choys for the double firepower.I also put a wall nut in front of the Bink choys for protection.
It gets artificially hard since it's balanced around you leveling your plants up or getting powercrept versions of old ones, which means spending money most of the time

In eclise, it is best that u plant sun producer as fast as possible, so i dont recommend using tier 3 sunflower as its recharge is very slow. In some level, u might even have to bring 2 sun producers since most of the later, better sun producers recharge very slow.
Vililla pvz2 was easy and never forced me to actually give them money to progress so it was a mostly well designed game drowning in pointless pay to win trash, and then eclise was harder than villa

expendable sunflowers are just as valid a concept in vanilla, at least in the way you just described

Alpha is not meant to be better than beta. Beta is more refined version of Alpha. Alpha is supposed to be buggy but new and everything reworked.
