I'm actually more curious what will happen in Dawn Township... Dawn Township is a one lap track, so what will happen if you finish the race before the countdown is over? Do you start all over again from the starting line?
@@LuigiLuigi728 Which map was that? The one which was at night in a blue castle with the Rainbow Road song? I finished that map as a VS Race and at the end there is an invisible cannon that brings you to the beginning. I was impressed when I saw my Mii flying for no reason lol

Because Countdown forces every track to have 8 laps, you would be on lap 2 after the finish line, resume from the beginning (as long as someone doesn't purposefully dodge the cannon or the out-of-bounds floor), and continue your race as normal! Alas, due to how one-lap tracks were achieved in MKW (in an unintended way), there exists an online-only position tracker bug: *you are the only player whose lap will count.* On the other hand, your opponents would be stuck on LAP 1 on your screen, which puts you in 1st place permanently after you've started LAP 2. Not just you, but anyone who enters lap 2 on their screen, would be stuck in 1st! This bug is the reason why MrBean imposes such a strict timer on the one-lap tracks in Countdown. Fun fact: Seaside Resort, a one lap track with three sections, was originally added in CTGP 1.02 as a 3-lap track (an old version, back when the custom lap count didn't exist!) whose checkpoints were altered to avoid the online bug, which was achieved by adding 24 fake checkpoints (for Lap 2 and Lap 3) on the final stretch right before the finish line. :-)

Flounderfest idea: Play with a mod which makes all vehicles inside drift and try using different karts and outside drifting bikes, and maybe try doing a best of 5, and use different vehicles each time.
