    Diffusers aren’t really my thing but this looks like a great option if they were. Great video Brad!

    I’m glad to see more humidifiers and diffusers in HMKit. I do wish companies would start to use other protocols other than Wi-Fi however. Great review as always Brad!

      I agree, Dustin. I've had good luck with Meross but I would love to see them transition to Thread.

    I notice you using water from your sink. The water is very hard in our area and it’s highly recommended to use distilled water. It’ll definitely increase the lifespan of the diffuser.

      This is a great call. I don't have hard water here, but you are absolutely right that distilled would be best.

    Great review again thanks Brad. I noticed in the sound comparison that the Meross has a clicking noise? Also on the video it sounds like it’s either the loudest or second loudest and I’m wondering if that clicking noise, together with the overall volume would be offputting? Our kitchen family area isn’t that large.
    Thanks again, really love the channel.
    Mike

      Hi Mike. It hard to really hear over video because I had to increase the audio so high there is distortion. There’s a bit of a
      gurgling noise. It’s not loud, but I notice it when the room is quiet (which doesn’t happen much, with two kids around 😂. Not distracting, but I notice it.

    Great video; very thorough. I am sure your viewers will appreciate the discount code as well. If it had come with Thread, I would have seriously considered it. I have too much on my WiFi right now and am looking for devices that use Thread instead. All of the devices that I ever have issues with, like "No Response" is because of WiFi. I am planning on getting a UniFi network system set up this year to replace my current Apple Extreme base stations. The Apple products are great, but they were never designed for lots of home IoT devices.

      Thanks Frederick! Let’s hope one day that thread gets added, I understand your concern with Wifi! Let us know how UniFi works once you’ve had a chance to test it out!

    Hello, Great Review…Since it’s a smart/wifi diffuser, are you able to move it from room to room, without it being plugged in? I’d like to be able to take it outside.. Thanks!

    Hi. I just got a meross oil difusser (mod 150). It shows a humidity sensor in home app. After a few weeks it is stuck in 100%, therefore it won't start difussing. Any thoughts on that? Thank You.

    How does this differ from a normal humidifier?

    • @TheBradLloyd
      @TheBradLloyd  2 роки тому

      Hi Michael, the basic difference is that because it's HomeKit enabled you can include the device in your scenes and automations, as well as use Siri to control the light or turn the spray on or off. I have a chapter on this in the video if you want to check it out. Thanks so much for watching!

      @@TheBradLloyd apologies I didn’t really word that right! What’s the difference between this and a typical HomeKit humidifier? Just trying to work out the different between a diffuser and a humidifier. Not a problem, great video!

    • @TheBradLloyd
      @TheBradLloyd  2 роки тому +2

      @@michaelthompson657 Ok np, that makes more sense! A humidifier typically has a much larger water tank and it's main purpose is to add moisture to the air. Many humidifiers now have a small holder to diffuse oils, it's not the main purpose. An oil diffuser will have a much smaller water tank with the primary purpose of diffusing oils - typically for shorter periods of time than a humidifier. HomeKit wise, I use the SwitchBot humidifier (using HOOBS), and love it - it works great to bring up the humidity, though I typically don't diffuse oils because personally it would just be too much scent to add to the air. If someone was sick, you could leave this on overnight and add a little eucalyptus oil though. Whereas, the Meross Essential Oil diffuser is smaller and more portable... I can just put it on for an hour here and there to freshen the air. Adding some humidity is really more of a side-benefit. Vocolinc also has a HomeKit humidifier and a flowered diffuser. Hope this helps!
