A lot of this is the result of how the homes are designed. Ja..is a society that doesn't appear to appreciate the benefits of incorporating extractor fans into the design of homes. This is basic stuff, and architects are failing jamaicans. They are very conservative with oversized egos, and most feel they know it all.
Use white vinegar and some water. Spray on it and wait for 10-15 minutes and then wipe it off. Make sure you wear a mask and make sure you are not in the room when you leave it to soak. 😉
Small areas: Use a solution of water and detergent or a mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water. Scrub the affected areas with a sponge or brush. Tough mould: For more stubborn mould, use a bleach solution (1 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water). Spray the mixture on the surface and let it sit for 15 minutes before scrubbing. Do not mix bleach with other cleaning products, especially ammonia, as this can create toxic fumes. There's also the use of special paints that are mould-resistant

Use Lysol Mold And Mildew Remover. Or spray with White Vinegar. If your painted surface is moldy, scrape it away and spray the mold with vinegar or Lysol Mold and Mildew or some other treatment. Allow the surface to dry properly and ensure all spores are destroyed before repainting with a waterproofing primer like Lanco's Dry Coat or Sur Fastyl. Then you can paint over that primer with regular paint of your choice. Ensure you wear a mask when spraying or scraping away the Mold.

I'm still waiting to hear the health effects of mould. It's dangerous and can impact one's mental and cardiac health. Mould infestation is terrible in Manchester where i live. I'm seeing it on the walls in my kitchen of my new apt, and I just moved out of an apt with this feathery fungus that popped out of the walls whenever the rain fell. Yes Hygienely is very good the best on the island.
Why didn't anybody talk about solutions?
Our jormalists lack insight and objectivity. !
Open the windows and doors to allow proper air flow. Yes, it's hot, but it can reduce humidity

What was the point of this segment?
To raise awareness about the presence of Mold so people can prevent themselves from getting sick due to exposure.
Good advice 😢🙏
I was expecting the reporter to ask about treatment options.

It was explained.High humidity causes mold…go to the country area where the humidity is high and look on the rocks and tell me you don’t see mold.
Mold has to be removed. You can clean, use paint etc but that does not fix the problem.
How u remove it from concrete wall
Thanks for educating, however no solution, was given and is there a government place one can call for them to come and inspect?

Lack of building and construction regulations is the root of the issue!!
Mold contributes to respiratory problems.

Mould is caused by cheap paints most paints in are antifungal
It’s not caused by cheap paints. It doesn’t help of course but it’s not the root cause…which they explained in the video.
The house I got in the seventies was of such poor standard that they filled many of the block pockets with paper. When it rained the backyard flooded the wall soaked and we got mould I scraped the wall of the old paint and put on a better quality paint and mould has not returned even after Gilbert!!

Combine SALT AND FABRIC CONDITIONER
Dehumidifier required but the windows should be closed, because you cant dehumidify the entire outdoors.
Dangerous. It can affect the skin and blood stream 😮😢
Government needs to install good drainage systems all throughout the Island

Keep windows open😢
Oh thats whats causing my shoes to dry rot? I noticed a slipper of mine has developed white stuff and everything has lifted up from the sole. Lawd😔
Solution, stop buying made in china. Use jamaican made building materials.
So how do people know when they just go to the hardware to buy their items. Make it make sense.

Mold- American English
Mould- British English
Mole - Jamaican Patois

Ive never seen the spelling mould either but dem seh people get brighter
I had to look it up also British vs American spelling
US vs "English" spelling, just like check v cheque, neighbor v neighbour, etc., etc
