🏡...How many times have I watched this video and just didn't get it ?
It's 2023 .As I have watched my little cottage , shady and narrow gardens suffer at my own hands ! I didn't realize the alkalinity would get worse , plants shrink, wither or don't produce blooms to brag about even with the perfect sun, shade and water if the PH is SO High !
I started everything with Biotone, fed semiannually , and still....
Now ,I Get it !
Plants require an environment they can thrive in !
I'm so glad I came across this video again *
I'm always tuned into your videos and lives .
Memories are wonderful aren't they ? Especially when we can take a lesson from them in learning 🕯️..
You both work so well as a team !
Thank you for sharing ❤.
Blue miracle grow with pelletized gypsum is the best combination. Use miracle gro at half dose weekly. Apply gypsum every other month around your plants.
Ugh, I love Laura!!! Thanks to her I discovered espoma and I love it
Same
Thank you! I fertilized my hydrangeas today. Super helpful instructions.
Very helpful. As learn from Laura. She and family are such joy.
My blueberries & I LOVE your Holly-tone!
Thank you! I have huge arborvitaes. And I use the plant tone. I can’t really put it around because it’s like a fence and also some are on the other size of my neighbors
Good video. I have planted about 30 emerald green arborvitae shrubs and needed to know what to fertilize them with. I’ll be using the Plant-tone for everything.
Ryan Copeland;
You are correct- Laura mentions PlantTone for Arborvitaes and Boxwoods in quite a few videos….I also have quite a few Arborvitaes and Boxwoods and have been treating them with PlantTone for about 10 years since I first heard Laura mention, I also water regularly.
FYI: They are also susceptible to spider mites so if you are watering regularly and they are starting to brown in spots it is pretty likely a spider mite issue. I spray with a miticide in spring and it helps. I also use on my rhododendrons as a few of my varieties seem to be more susceptible. I use the concentrated form; the one you hook up to your hose- I use different brands Bayer, Captain Jack’s, Seven…
And repeat the process throughout spring and summer.
Nice information, thanks!
I accidentally fertilized my boxwoods and peace lilly with holly tone. I guess I’ll wait to see if it kills them.
Perfect just what I was looking for
Good video.......Can I go "shopping" in your garage?? 😍😍😍
You guys are the best👍❤️
would you recommend plant tone for container grown green pepper and tomato plants and can it be used also in ground plants? just trying to learn how greenhouses get huge tomatoes on their plants in containers LONG before I do. I fertilize - but never sure how much to use. can this also be used on herbs (basil, oregano, thyme etc?) or on my bay tree.
Thank you!
Can I use Flower Tone once a month for both annuals and perennials? I am worried about over fertilizing and harming them. If it won’t harm, will it help or just be a waste for the perennials to get the extra fertilizer?
... being a seasoned gardener, I would use your Flower tone on your perennials once a month, and your annuals will perform better with a water soluble fertilizer on a weekly basis. Annuals are heavy feeders and this will give them that special "ummmph" and you'll see results. If you were ever in a quandary as to which one ("tone") you should use (and depending on availability in your area), generally Plant tone will cover most everything successfully. 👩🌾💚🏵️💐🦋🐝

@@naturegirl7777 Which Espoma product do you recommend for white to pink bobo hydrangeas? I've used Holly Tone before and wasn't sure if that was rhe best. I'd like to keep the current flower blooms the same color. Thanks.
@@shanew7361 ...Bobo is a type of hydrangea that will only bloom white (and not pink or blue). The pH of your soil does not affect your blooms on many white- blooming and Limelight (chartreuse) hydrangeas. You were correct in using Holly tone, as hydrangeas like things a little on the acid side (like hollies, azaleas, and rhododendrons... blueberries too.)
Switching gears, I lost my beloved BoBo (my cat) back in December due to having lymphoma, so you can only imagine that yes, I will be buying a Bobo hydrangea in his memory. Man, I miss my beautiful boy! I have never cried so hard! (I am not exaggerating!) Oh, I loved him so! 😭💕👩🏼🌾💚😿 =^..^=
@@naturegirl7777 Thank you, glad to know i made the correct choice. My mother was debating on using Rose Tone on her vanilla strawberry hydrangeas.
We have a 15 year old white Persian battling cancer. He's so sweet, he'll follow you around snuggle, give you rubbies just a beautiful loving animal. I'm sorry about your loss. My father is also battling cancer so it's been a trying time for everyone. This getting old stuff really hits home and how important making memories really are. 😪
@@shanew7361 ... I commiserate with my whole heart! Indeed it has been a difficult time and I sympathize/empathize fully. I share your upcoming sorrow. 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=
Are you supposed to drill down for the holly tone, or not?
mind of I ask where you're located? you talk about cold winters, but dry during the summer.
Laura and Aaron are located in eastern Oregon (Ontario); zone 6; high desert; 100+ degree days in the summer. 😌👩🌾💚

Have white to pink bobo hydrangea, what's the best Espoma to use?
I use general purpose on everything from flowers to peppers to tomatoes to cannabis to lettuce, berry plants. Not saying you should but I would
I have a question I am planting grass on the side of my garage and there's two evergreen type tall trees I was just curious if the grass seed and the espoma evergreen tone would clash in anyway with the grass seed growing?
Probably too late to answer your question:
I have 4 golden doodles, 1 likes to dig and every spring I am laying grass seed W/fertilizer on the bare spots and filling holes with top soil. I have a full acre of evergreen trees and arborvitae and have been using both varieties of plant tone and Holly tone and it has never affected the grass seed. The time summer starts everything looks beautiful. All of my hanging baskets/containers/ window boxes I use miracle grow liquid feed on my hose once a week. throughout the growing season.
Can I use holly tone during summer?
Yes
How about evergreen tone?
My blue Spruce turning yellow and die, why?
Try soil acidifier and iron tone
Probably need more water
It also maybe spider mites as they are susceptible to those nasty bugs and they spread quickly. If that’s the case use a 3 in 1 insecticide. It is hard to say without seeing the plant but most pines, weeping, arborvitaes are susceptible to spider mites. Most people think that they are turning brown because they aren’t getting enough water. I have a weeping blue spruce that I treat every spring and again in spring. I think they were planted when this neighborhood was developed as there are quite a few in front of neighbors houses. Since I’ve been treating mine is the only one that looks beautiful healthy silvery bluish green throughout the summer- the neighbors all look brown and brittle due to the mite infestation.
One other option is to use iron tone around the base of the plant since you mentioned yellowing as it could be an iron deficiency. You will know once you apply it will start greening up in a couple weeks. I would treat for both.
Good luck and happy gardening!
Use gypsum and apply blue liquid miracle gro at half dose every week. Spread gypsum around your tree monthly or every other month. Water deeply when you water. Water weekly. Just get a five gallon bucket put in one rounded scoop of miracle grow. Then add water so it dilutes. Fill bucket half way 2-2.5 gallons of water. Apply around the drip line slowly.
Honestly I watch quite a a lot, one of my favorite gardening channels but it’s often not realistic for a normal backyard gardener. I mean most of your plantings are probably easily over $1000 with all the pricey proven winners stuff and even this video of just some fertilizer looks to be maybe $500 or more. Just don’t see how it’s possible for a normal income person.
