- Well after spending a few days trying to diagnose the problem I think I finally have it figured out! So since the shop was closed today I had to do some work under the car in the garage not my favorite but you gotta do what you gotta do race car life! The twin turbo mustang boss 302 is back in action and ready to go now!

Try adding a heat shield to the starter, it may be getting heat soaked from the exhaust.
I agree. A fairly common problem in some performance cars, especially if the exhaust system is in close proximity to the starter.
I was going to say the same thing. I know the older Chevy starters would overheat & not start. Especially with the headers.

people keep saying that building the car yourself would give you more content, but it looks like this is bringing just as much content with the issues haha

High torque starter, race application type, shielding too. Tire pressure in teens, find sweet spot. Driveshaft, might not be able to get away from that. Can always check the balance. Good luck.

If you watched last video he saved himself a bunch of money going this route. Building a car to that caliber is not cheap. Plus I would say there’s a lot of people showcasing mustang builds on UA-cam so I think he made the right move
Building a car is a great but a lot of people are not patient and want to see it run and race and that’s where this car comes in I can start racing it right away and bring my audience the videos they enjoy. Build videos are cool but they take a while and the attention span these days is very short.

Well I’d consider his Whipple GT something he’s building. He’s already turned that thing into a beast and is working on an e85 conversion as we speak.

Rush you know there’s home garage lifts you can get that’ll lift your car pretty high up. It’s enough where you can slide under your car without any problems or fears of you hitting your head on something.

I had a firebird that had that problem.i replace it with a high torque one with a heat shield. You need Viking shocks for the rear.
Another thing to think about is get a good battery Ford's always seem to have small batteries I can't believe how small those batteries are

I dont know if you figured it out but try the ignition switch, I had a similar problem with my car not starting randomly and would start sometimes and other times not so forsure check that out if you havent already

Also just check your battery voltage. If it's low it can cause weird electrical problems.

If you can try getting a heat shield for the starter, high heat especially from all the engine bay components that will help extend the life of your starter!

I had an issue with the starter just like your issue but mine was with a different car. So yes it might be your starter

Hey dude should of just Bench tested the starter.. And bench test the new starter.. Had put it iin the new Starter and it still didn't work took it back had them bench test it and it was faulty.. Best of luck.. 👍

Where is the electrical box and computer? Also, where is the ABS block? Those things seem to be out of place or missing.
Things were relocated to make space for the turbo kit.
So my car has this issue as well but my car will only start if my clutch is smashed on the floor I later learned that the connection between the clutch pedal and the cylinder that it controls was loose after fixing that I haven't had a problem out of it

Run it with 18 psi on the wheels
12psi for digs, 18psi for rolls.
man if i was you when you go and upgrade your start keep the new one you just got for spar parts just incase some thing like this happens again you will have that spar one
If it's not the starter then it's the same problem I had ... Which is one of starting coil not working will making the same issue

There was a jack stands there I just kept the jack in place too for added security
If that doesn't work try cleaning your throttle body I had a similar problem with my Pontiac GTO it would start no problem when cold but when hot it wouldn't start without giving it a little bit of gas after cleaning the throttle body I never had a problem again had to do it every year or so

I don't understand the concept of buying a new starter, even though it works fine, knowing you were planning to return it and buy a different one later the whole time. I am not roasting you, but I hope at least you don't complain about the restocking fee.
I didn't return anything. I just took my oem starter out so we can make sure I bought the right one at the parts store.

Starter....
When cars start when cold and won’t after they are hot is an indication of a bad ground wire.
I checked the ground and cleaned off the surfaces for a better connection and that didn’t do it so it was in fact the starter
Rush buys gloves just to not use them 😂
Buys gloves and has them sitting on the ground lol always happens to me can’t work with those on
