You have to take the older screenplay into consideration, the Big Chap was supposed to mimic Ripley's voice over the coms. They clearly weren't sure about the final version, so the xenomorph ended up displaying variable levels of intelligence. The scene that began to sour the movie for me also shows the xenomorph using a high degree of smarts, it deliberately attacked Lambert in a slow unconcerned manner. It completely ignored Parker, who was the immediate threat, but went after Lambert who was in front of the oxygen tanks, like it knew that Parker couldn't fire given the circumstances. Or it was just plot armor, because Ripley was allowed to search for a cat, prep the self-destruct mechanism, and get into a space suit without being attacked.
It depends on the depiction and execution. The OG Big Chap acts like a massive creep with its slow stalker behaviour and is more like a serial killer and molester in that way. Aliens Queen is shown to be very intelligent and vengeful. The Dog Alien is feral and David Fincher wanted it to act like a rabid dog. Resurrection ones have scenes showing them to be smart but also not seem to care about their own, likely a human trait. AVP's Grid is brutal and smart like an action hero xenomorph. The rest they just seem to be movie monsters, especially Covenant, which I find lackluster. I like when the movies give its monsters personality, like the raptors in Jurassic Park, and sharks in Deep Blue Sea - they are so unusually fast and swift, makes them memorable from generic movie monsters.
I think we can say at human intelligence. They're born with some base instincts that override intelligence and on top of that. They grow incredibly quick. I'd say a lot of Xenomorphs are as smart as like 6 years olds maybe 13 year olds in some cases.

The xenos at Hadley's Hope were several weeks old I think, it took Ripley and the Marines a few weeks to arrive after they lost contact with the colony
I would say that Ovomorphs and Facehugger have only Primal intincts that manipulated by the Queen, i rank Chestburster as slightly more intelligent then Human Babys, Drones, Warrior and Runner are from what i would think as intelligent as a Human or a Velociraptor deom Jurassic Park, I would say that the Drones from Ressurrection are a little more intelligent but only a little more than the Normal Xenos, Newborn is as Intelligent as a Child and the Queen is defenetly more intelligent than any living Human on Earth
It's the other way around. Alien is Canon to predators franchise. whereas in alien films predators aren't Canon for them. Also blade runner and alien are the same universe
