Great, detailed review! Thank you for that. In the last few years I had Bleu and Allure in my fragrance rotation but I think it is time to revisit Platinum Egoiste again. Best regards!
Thanks for the review. I'm always on the hunt for a nice new fragrance. I currently use Dior Homme intense and, the new last years, Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal, which is an absolute must have in my opinion. Never have I worn a fragrance that so many strangers commented on. I had women in stores asking me which perfume I wore.
Its a great fragrance i have had some and ilked it very much, but I haven’t seen it on sale for a while, but now you have put it on your channel I will try to get some 👍
I'm late to this vid. Just subscribed though. I find Platinum Egoiste to be a fabulous, classy fragrance. The geranium works so perfectly with the woods and musk. Love it!
Good review. Although I remember this fragrance from the 90s, I only bought my first bottle last week! Allure was my first Chanel purchase, way back in 1999. I like the cooler, sophisticated aura of this one ☝🏼 though. It’s timeless, elegant and a bit different from the sweet aftershaves that dominate the market at the moment.
My all time favourite fragrance. I always get a kick out of the ice-cold metallic vibe (geranium, methinks) during the opening. It gives me the vibe of the 'zzinggg' of a katana (think Kill Bill here) cutting through the air.... As it dries down it changes to something completely different, something warm and beautiful. Amazing scent and a classic for sure!
You got my curiosity up enough to give it a try. Unfortunately in my job I cannot wear anything that smells, but on the weekends I’m free to use it. Good honest review.
Another great review, what a legendary fragrance, I've been using dunhill edition for some time now after watching your review and was looking for something a bit stronger and stumbled upon Roger and gallet open after owning the sadly now discontinued l'homme, it's cheap, and something way above it's price point, think adding tobacco to edition and turning up the vetiver to eleven! It's a real treat, I'd love to hear your views.
Chanel always has offered top quality products throughout the whole range. I've enjoyed and tried most of their product line. Any are very good choices. Love the bottles designs. Starlight
I adore and own Eternity for men. I heard this is an upscale version of Eternity, or in that wheelhouse. I'd love to own it but $125 for a medium sized bottle? Can't afford that😮
My mum recently passed away, & I found this in her Chanel collection. I am very confused why she would have it. As she was very feminine. Is it sold as a unisex fragrance? I just put it on I could wear it as a female but I can’t imagine my mother wearing it. She wears No5 ( wore 😢)
Anything can be worn by either gender if they like it, but Platinum Egoiste is generally considered a male oriented scent. Perhaps your late mother just really liked it?
Could you take a look at the fragrance called ; Sculpture by Nikos. It's been one of my personal favorite budget fragrance for years and it has been around since 1995. It was composed by Michel Almairac
@@TheChapsGuide Thank you very much for your reply! Looking forward to the video. The reason I ask is that I am looking for a parfum that is similar to Burberry London (my all time favorite for a long time) but the beginning headnotes of burberry that I love so much do not last very well and do not project, do you know of a parfum that has the headnotes of London in the heart of base? I have heard that Egoiste could be worht a try.
Great review👌 but I am sorry to say has been reformulated & altered recently by Chanel! But I prefer the vintage version which I used to wear over the years! Most of classics are now reformulated due to new regulations imposed by EU. Such a pity🤔 but still smells great👌 Cheerio🥂
All fragrances are constantly being reformulated between batches as the ingredients flex and change due to market availability and cost. Sometimes the fragrances get better, sometimes they get worse. I find the present Platinum Egoiste to be a faithful rendition and excellent successor to the original. I find that the very best houses, such as Chanel, rarely drop the ball on their scents. That is why they cost a little more than others.
@@TheChapsGuide I agree with you! But sometimes they are forced to reformulate due to EU regulations! That's another story! Even perfumers are fed up with this! @@belairscents different opinion here but I find most reformulations are for the better. take paco rabanne pour homme. the reformulation has tidied it up, taken away the animalic "dirtiness" and made it more soapy, and much more wearable, much more crowd pleasing. it's now a better fragrance than it has ever been. the re-release of lynx java is also better than it was in the 90s. one problem with it though, it's gone after 30 minutes. worn off.

The new 2022 bottles are the best since the original. Buy with confidence as they have fixed the formulation and returned it to its 5 star status.
