I can relate with your situation. Don't be too hard with yourself and your cooking skills. The dishes you made look yummy. You also seem to be a very lovely and intelligent person. How did you end up in Germany? In your other video you said that you envy german women because they are tough, but moving alone to a foreign country so far away from your home country is the toughest thing someone can do in my opinion. Not everyone can do that and it is very admiarable.
I always found cooking to be an essential skill and activity if you enjoy good food. Even if I don't have the time for anything else, I will always find the time to cook myself something nice. Store bought or restaurant food just doesn't have the same customization or consistency to it.
Hello, I am a woman from Poland and spent Christmas just with my dog. Last two or three years I did Christmas for friends and/or family, but this year, I was alone. I was not sad at all. The only thing I regret is that I treated it as "normal" day. Next time, I plan to make it more festive for myself. I enjoy being alone as well, because in the end of the day I know I am not lonely, I have close friends I can count on. There is a difference between being alone and lonely in my opinion. Best wishes!
My first profession was cooking in hospitals, after some time the diets. I made it 7 years and after that I was done with it. I don‘t like it anymore even I had always to help my mother for holidays, we were a very big family…Now I spent those days alone or with my adult daughter, she loves to cook especially South Korean and Japanese recipes. This Christmas we had Bun Cha, Rosé Tteokbokki and salmon with parsnips. I am able just to enjoy myself, do what I want to do and enjoy the silence…It looks very delicious what you have cooked, even it seems to be simple, but it is not necessary to cook a 5 course menu, the taste is more important in my eyes!
Thank you for your compliment😊 While I can't cook complex dishes, I enjoy making simple and quick meals every day. Even on Christmas, I kept it easy and delightful😋haha
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I am german and just returned from a trip to Japan and I am very interested in the differences of both cultures.
I can't agree more, I feel what you have just said as an international student, working when people are going on holiday; I missed being with my family in these family-gathering moments 😢
Now I reached to the end of video 😅. Definitely I regain my interest and I found how much stress releasing and exciting can be baking/ cooking. Very excited to see your next cook 😍
After returning to Germany after a 6 months internship in Britain I missed the pies and savory pastries, so I adapted my favorite pasta sauce recipe to work as a pie filling - took me several tries over about 3 years, but the final result was worth the effort. There's even a vegetarian version now.
I totally feel you! I'm German.. Spent the last two Christmas holidays alone because I cut ties with my family a couple of years ago to protect myself. These holidays in 2024 have been so lonely for me as well.. I agree with you, I don't like groups of strangers either. Let's hope that we can spend this year's Christmas with lovely people (or just one). ❤️
Happy holidays and new year wishes! Thank you for this lovely vlog. Your cooking looked beautiful and delicious. I like best to spend Christmas connecting with people I love. 🎄💝 🍗🍰 🥂 I appreciate your peaceful thoughts and actions.
Your Christmas dinner looked delicious, I don’t like to cook 😅 I always prepare Mexican food and sometimes my husband prepares Belgium dishes, so I really don’t like to cook but looking your videos I take some inspiration, thanks for sharing, best wishes to you 😊❤
メリークリスマスとあけましておめでとうございます。ありがとうございます I came home from work an hour ago and your video has been suggested so i watched and it calmed down the mood i had from workshift. You prepared a nice christmas breakfast and dinner, i didn't even cook something special for christmas this time since i haven't been in the mood for celebrating without family but still going to work on 24th and right after christmas. But i decided to do so, and it was a nice to use this time for learning 日本語 instead. 😉 Since u decided using english for subtitle, do you also speak german language? Are you still learning?
Thank you for your comment, Happy new year to you too😊 I'm glad you spend good time learning Japanese😊You are welcome to check my latest video to see my German language journey 🤭
First of all, you seem to be an almost perfect cook. Everything you cook (in several videos) looks incredibly delicious and is always so beautifully presented. And yet you write that you can't cook very well? I think you are too modest! And I really like your video style! I'm sorry that you had to spend Christmas alone this year. Did you always have more foreign friends than German ones? It certainly seems that way when you write that your former friends have all gone back to their countries. Are you unable to make friends with Germans, or do you not want to? In any case, I'm sure that acquaintances or work colleagues would invite you to celebrate Christmas with them if they knew that you were all alone on Christmas Eve. Don't hide it if it happens again next year!
Thank you very much for your compliment😊 I was okay spending alone this year though, but this year I want to try some other way. Thank you for your kind words😊
Go to a German onsen, Thermalbad. It was quite crowded in the holidays, you can spend the whole day there so you are not alone. Meet some people at a Musikverein if you play an instrument or make a lot of different sports with other people at a Sportverein.
Have you experienced Christmas with a German family yet? Last year was my first time to be in Japan during Christmas season and it felt like a couple holiday and very different.
I don't know why your video ended up on my timeline. I am your 2nd subscriber and your video's 4th viewer. the title makes me think that you are kinda upset about the situation but your video makes me think you are grateful for your solitariness. or maybe I'm reflecting. Anyway, Merry Christmas 🙋♂

I have a pretty long story about why I ended up living in Germany. I will make a video about it at some point :)
Sounds interesting. I‘d love to hear your story. Wish you a relaxing evening. 😴

That's a good point:) I am a food lover and feel more comfortable with my own taste 😋

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your Christmas also alone😊
It's true that being alone doesn't have to mean feeling lonely :)
I have family where I live, my 2 sons live away from me , but I chose to spend my Christmas alone.. nice and quiet no stress…was lovely.. 🙏🏻🙋🏻♀️🌻
I'm glad you had a nice Christmas holiday too😊

I love Mexican food and I want to cook it better. Still a lot to learn🙈

Thank you for your advice:) I actually thought about going to the theme or sauna but still ended up staying at home creating this channel😊
@FrauSamurai sometimes it's good to do one day per week "Internet detox" and have a walk in the forest (it's a typical german thing I know)
I prefer being alone... I wish I could be, but my current situation isn't the best for it...
We all need some time alone, I believe:)
Next Christmas come to us. We live in Münster.
Thank you for a lovely offer😊
Münster is one of my favorite cities in Germany!:)
@FrauSamurai then be ready. We always have one more seat at our table for a "ronin"
Have you experienced Christmas with a German family yet?
Last year was my first time to be in Japan during Christmas season and it felt like a couple holiday and very different.
Yes, I have, and it is indeed a totally different culture. We don't spend Christmas with family, but New Year's Eve😌
Lovely videos! In which german city do you live?
Thank you very much😊I live in Düsseldorf:)
@@FrauSamurai Lovely! My parents are from this region. ❤

Merry Christmas to you too!
As I spent lots of time being alone, I got used to the situation and even started enjoying the time I believe:)
how long are you in germany? aren't there events for single people at christmas in your city?
I've lived here for 8.5 years. While there may be parties to attend, I prefer spending time alone rather than with large groups of strangers😌
