Worked at a chicken plant when I was about 19-20. I’m 38 now. I hated every.single.day. And I know exactly what you mean by that “slave system” like Amazon. It’s a dead end. I walked out, and never looked back. I did go back to the streets for min, but I thought about having a better future. Dropped out of a university after getting banned from campus (long story. I did get my Assoc degree though), started working two jobs. Got fired from one, the other my manager was caught stealing and everyone under him lost their hours or job altogether, including me. Was straight broke at this point, walked around and came into the military recruiting station. Joined the military, and was in the Delayed entry program. I walked 10 miles to work one way at another job. Got rides to the military meetings. My brother and I were homeless for a little while during this time. He was shot and killed shortly afterwards. Went to his funeral May 5,2010. Next week I left for boot camp May 19, 2010 and left that life of brokenness and despair behind. Here I am, 22 countries in , 2 homes, a fiancé later, with an online clothing business. I go back home to visit family and my brother’s grave. I’m thankful for everything. God is great. Hope you stick with your plan bro, finish your degree and get into the delivery business. Pray over everything, visualize your success and the future, and then take action. God bless bro. 🙏🏾🤲🏾

If you’re going to school in person, if you fill out the fafsa you should be eligible for work study. you should be able to get a desk / clerical job on campus, either at the admissions office or financial aid office or somewhere similar. Work study jobs work with your school schedule. I worked as a TA all through college and knew a lot of other people who did work around campus and everyone liked it. No experience necessary. Then you’ll have some desk job / clerical experience to get your foot in the door as a secretary / admin at an office if that’s what you want. Telemarketing / call centers can also be an option that doesn’t require college that lets you sit at a desk all day.

Maybe consider merchandising for a beverage company. It's entry-level, but a way to get your foot in the door, and meet and network with management in grocery stores. You can then try to move up to a sales position, and If you do make a connection with grocery staff, ask if you can use them as a reference. Just another avenue that came to mind. Better to take a chance and go for a life you actually find worth risking stability for than wasting years at some place and accumulating stress because you're afraid you "might not find a job" later.

It's time to get that skydiving license and live fully without risking the financial future in the process. Don't forget your future self. You want to hone your skills. Living day to day without direction is not propper adult behavior. Your inner contiousness will not be happy longterm.

@@bewater8417 Bro, you doing way more assuming than reading rn. Cause nothing you wrote got anything to do with what I said.
      1. "Coasting on savings" doesn't mean I'm out here chilling on the beach with nothing to do and no plans to ever work again. It means I am coasting on savings. It's literally no different than if I jumped into another shitty job after leaving my other one. Because I have the money to pay my bills. So what are you talking about?
      2. So you think living totally off savings and not having to work at all wasn't very freeing to you. But working for someone and getting a measly few weeks vacation is "living fully"? Wage-slave logic at its finest.
      3. I am older than you. So you can chill with talking down to me like you know better, G. You don't know me or my plans. Stop assuming shit.
If you're cool with a 9-5 until you die. Fine. Do you. But don't come at people for quitting jobs that make them miserable, with your paranoid play-it-safe advice like you know what you're talking about.

I worked in warehouses since I was 19. Started working jobs when I was 16. I had a girl on the way soon as I turned 20. And all I knew was how to go get a job after high school. I made sure I got put on a forklift license early for that extra pay that always getting you to go for. I worked all the way up until I was 30 and had a mental breakdown that just build up over the years. I had dreams of a music career. Wanted to take on DJ’ing but was afraid I was already too set in my ways to change my life. But I had been practicing in my room for years until I broke out. One day I had all my ducks in order and just quit. Quit my job. Couldn’t take it anymore. I was having terrible anxiety attacks right before getting out the car to clock in. I just really didn’t want to be there. Fought that depression for another 6 months. The shit felt like Stockholm syndrome for real. I couldn’t relax for anything.
I’m now 36 years old and I’m moving my whole family off of the money I’ve made from the DJ business. I only said all that to let you know that you aren’t alone, in how you are thinking homie. Working how we did is no longer the only way to success. So many different ways to get $ and live the life you want for yourself and the life you want to to provide to your family.
    Best wishes dude.

Bro you don't want to be no Amazon delivery driver. That job sucks too. They give you double the load of a UPS driver every day and you have to load the truck yourself in 15 minutes. You kill your strength before you even get started for the day. Go work at a grocery store or something and finish school if you can. I would suggest becoming an engineer over getting a business degree. Learn how to invent things. A lot of people don't want to do business with black people... even some black people, so if you can make something people can't live without, that could be the key to success. Good luck with whatever you do and stay up fam...

Left my warehouse gig, jumped into closet installation on a whim. Zero experience, but it turns out I've got a knack for handy work and attention to detail. Tough start-no training, sketchy coworkers, gatekeeping skilled guys. Hit many walls, nearly gave up several times. Eventually moved to a better company as a lead installer. Endure the BS, and you're essentially getting paid to learn. After four years, you gain experience, some cash, and new opportunities. Compare that to spending two years in school for an AA without knowing your career path-you'll end up with neither experience nor money, unless you like studying. But that's only my opinion because I did the school route and wasted years only to realize it wasn't for me. Keep us posted.

But, young people have to be careful and think hard about AI (artificial intelligence). AI is going to wipe out many current jobs, so be very careful about picking a field that will not be automated in a decade or two. Good Luck!

Hey man at least you have a wife and kids. I’m struggling to find a good woman to share life with. We all have problems man. Life’s not easy, gotta keep pushing. Edit: I spent all my life working hard to set myself up for a family when I meet a woman. Had several failed relationships, been fired and quit my jobs in the same career many times. I bought a home, payed it off. Now I’m mid 30’s and realised it all means crap to me since I’m not happy being alone. I am a good looking European Aussie man but here in Australia I struggle to find someone for future because I am an auto body mechanic. Women here look at us like crap, when I tell them my job they delete me on apps. Getting laid hasn’t been too hard but finding a connection has. Dabbling a little into heavy drugs here and there. I basically gave up in life. If you had what I have with ur family I hope u do because being single with a 3 bedroom house doesn’t sit right with me. Life can be depressing at times. Having a degree is not going to help you. Im in IT with multiple degrees and certifications. Jobs will still let you go and try to low ball your wage at the next job interview. My advice is to go to a trade school. Get a skill that you can offer if you go freelance. If you just want a nice 9-5 job somewhere then find a large company and apply as security or loading dock area. Just to get yourself in the door. Set up job alerts on your phone for that company and try to apply for a new position you might like from within. Dont stay at any job role more then two years. Keep moving up. A job will NOT promote you. Look out for yourself. In time you will have a nice desk job at a big company. An AA or BS will only get you an entry position anyways with student loan debt. Just save your money and apply directly for an entry position. Just do it for a company you can see yourself working for years for. Hope this helps.

Get a job that is secure, that pays decent, Something that will fit into your schedule while you can try to go to school. Learn a trade, something that you will make good money doing and have a future. It's gonna be hard, but you did things out of order so you're just gonna have to grind. In the Is meantime Don't have any more kids at the moment, focus on getting your money app working hard and getting your career going. People aren't gonna like what I'm about to say but it's just hard facts, the world doesn't care about a man's problems, a man is expected to be a provider and a protector And you have mouths to feed, So put in the work, set an example for your kids, giv your wife security and take pride in having the ability to be able to do that, comma focus on God and the blessings will come.
