Yes please more of these types of videos. I have been binge watching all your videos. Really studying them. All these years, I’ve been kind of clueless on how to pair my clothes and feeling overwhelmed and everything knowing what to wear. But you really have inspired and help me to plan a much better classier wardrobe. You are such a wonderful teacher. Especially now that I’m getting older I want timeless pieces, but I also want to look modern and classy and I don’t want to look like a frumpy dump. Lol.
Lydia if you had an online styling course you would be bombarded with participants. Your instructor/ trainer skills are outstanding and far in advance of any others I’ve seen on utube. ❤
This is so helpful! My eye for silhouette is stuck in the early 80’s and now that these styles are having another go around I need help making them look modern, this is a perfect tutorial!
Thank you. At last some one who believes as I do, your coat should never be shorter than your coat. You only have to look at the Princess of Wales . Always so polished. You have naile style
Such great tips Lydia. Outerwear just thrown on jacket/coat and easily get the proportions wrong but these tips elevated all the looks! ❤makes so much sense
What I like so much about many of Lydia's videos is that they show the practical application of the proportion rules ! (Or how it looks when we try to break them 😀). Special thanks to Lydia for all the details and comments provided with every (!) outfit !
Lydia, thank you I’m slowly retraining my eye from your lessons. I often feel I’m close but know something is off a bit. These videos are clarifying and very well done. 👌🏼
Excellent styling. I am slowly building up a coat/jacket collection. I live where in N US and all winter people see the coat of jacket. I think it is important to have the correct 3rd layer. I would like more of this type of video.
I love these kinds of videos from you its so easy to make a video with buy this buy that and you will look chic and expensive but those items paired together in the wrong way can end up looking like workwear or so out of place for day to day wear to try hard too dressed up or even if you have the balance of smart and casual down theres still something that just isnt working for you these videos are so helpful for those time thankyou for putting in so much time and effort with these lessons with Lydia type video they are so much more helpful than which pieces you "need" ❤
Thanks for the video its always so inspiring❤ I wonder if you’d have some ideas about how to dress with the Balmain-style cropped blazer? I found them so empowering to wear yet so hard to pair with…
great video! love how you inform on everything so we can understand why and how to do it outselves! :) could you do how to match bags to your outfit (size, style, ways to wear it)? :)
This was very helpful. A short while ago, I wore a long sweater dress, but I didn't have a coat that was of the same length. Now I know what are some good options. Thanks.
Woo! I feel like a genius as i already knew how you would style these. My fashion knowledge has clearly increased over the years. i was looking at a picture i took yesrs ago and i was flabbergasted and studying it is why i had similar ideas to you. The outfit; A midi length dress, an ankle length boot so there was a break where you could see skin between dress and ankle (shortening) ....then i wore a mid thigh length coat over a midi dress with ankle boots💀, that awkward length of dress hem showing under a not long enough coat? It was there, that skin gap by wearing ankle boots that doesn't come up enough it was there. I only analysed it because my proportions looked magnificently off, i looked shortish but in a disproportionate way and i have a long vertical line too so it was odd. Oh well you live and you learn, it means I'll think more about the versatility of the length of coats, knowledge is awesome. I was even thinking of getting only ankle length coats to save myself the trouble lol😅 but then they come with their own difficulties like dragging on the floor if you sit down in a bus😢
Hi my friend Love this one as I've question myself as to what coat to wear. I was wondering if you could tell us what clothes you would take out of your closet and why.Thank you
I had this issue last weekend- what coat to wear with a dressy, below-the-knee pleated skirt cocktail dress. I knew my choice wasn't great but I dont own the correct length/style coat.
Great tips Lydia. Please can you give some tips on short jackets like the one you were wearing in the video. I’ve got 3 and I never end up wearing them because they don’t seem to look good with the clothes I pair them with 😊
The biggest issue I have is finding a coat long enough to reach the hem of my skirts. I'm tall, not that tall, just under 5ft 9in but I've been looking for one that's long enough for years - and that is also long enough on the sleeves too. I've just stopped wearing a coat with my dresses/skirts now (which is a bit chilly 🥶) and wear jackets. I wish clothing manufacturers would consider tall people! Great advice though x
Hi Jo, we’re in the same club-I’m 5’10 with long arms. I just purchased the best Zara wool coat that fits me perfectly but they’re difficult to find. ❤
I'm short for a European and I have the same problem (ok, part of it is that I live in Japan, where people are short, so coats are shorter too). Plus they tend to stock only coats that are "in" and a really long coat has not been "in" here for some time. I love long dresses but that means either to have the strange length coat on the dress/skirt or have my bottom freeze off with a cropped one and I just cannot do that. So yeah, finding a lovely, perfect coat is a quest.
Good morning Lydia you're doing a excellent job keep up the good work and yes I like seeing the dos and don't. It helps me a lot to be informed about buying things that fit me well. I have a short torso so I'm going through my gym collections and getting rid of the high wasted jeans and going towards a more Mid Rise
Fantastic advice Lydia! Thank you. I would also love to get your take on types of jackets to wear depending on the neck line of the top you are wearing - eg. collared, vneck, crew, split crew, mock neck, etc.
I’d like to see you pair long and midi dresses with which style blazers. I have a fitted button up black satin dress that’s a midi length with slits on the side and it’s looser from Hips down with a light pleating. I am not sure which blazer looks better with it. Cropped or oversized?
Lydia, love your channel. Have learned a lot, in fact , bought a beautiful pair of leather trousers (70% off😄) as one of your videos inspired me. Leather pants were never something I thought I’d ever buy for myself, but I love them. Now, I’d love to know where to find the jacket you’re wearing in this video please.
This video is so well timed! Would the Toteme flared Jean be a fitted item or loose item? Just trying to figure out what jacket would suit when work with more fitted boots
Hi I love the source unknown shearling coat but it’s sold out. Do you have another rec that’s the same color? Like a gray/khaki. Also do you have a guide for essential fall/winter coats and jackets?
which brand offers those very long coat/jacket that cover a long dress? I honestly never found it. Maybe because i never travel in nordic countries ..could you please advice or recomend brands to google it?
There is an element of style that you don't account for which is physical proportions of each individual. For example, nit everyone in your example will look good in a cropped jacket because they may have very full hips.
I love styling loose fitting trousers but having them drag on the floor is silly and feels like a merchandising ploy so next season they can go back to a regular fit and we’ll all look out of touch with current fashion.
I actually saw that Sana NY has the same photos and trousers as Marcela London!! Pd: Lydia i am a huge fan! I can't wait more for your summer 2023! tipps (: Cheers from Germany
Hi Amal, Sanna here! :) Just wanted to respond and let you know that our assortment is a combination of both our own designs and styles from small, independent designers/factories. Any duplication is us just carrying the same style, similar to what you would find with other retailers who curate a select assortment. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, happy to help! xx
You talk too much, it's boring. And in the majority of your videos (the ones I've seen), you always look down at yourself and that look is annoying. It gives the impression that you admire yourself all the time. Or is it, on the contrary, for lack of confidence that you always have to check yourself?
I am committed to studying and earning my degree in the Lydia Tomlinson Effortlessly Elegant School of Style. ;) This video helps so much. Thank you ❤
Can I join the academy? 😊
Where do I apply 😊
Lol yes🤓
Same!! I treat these as my master class for effortless style ❤❤❤

Totally agree with you, I think categorizing into diff types of outfits is very helpful.
I LOVE your videos, Lydia!! I've learned so much from you. You're my favorite fashion/style influencer.

So helpful. I find jackets and shoes the hardest to pick out. Thanks !!!!
Wow! Stunning. Esp the long coat/skirt combo. Really like the jacket you are wearing. The way you style the white turtleneck sweater is chic.
Excellent styling. I am slowly building up a coat/jacket collection. I live where in N US and all winter people see the coat of jacket. I think it is important to have the correct 3rd layer. I would like more of this type of video.
Thank you for this. Coats are definitely the trickier to pair, it was perfectly clear
You have a great sculptural sense, Lydia!
Thank you v.m. I was one of those subscribers who asked for a video about jackets😀💕
Hi Lydia, I watch you from México, love your tips! ❤❤
This was great! I love your idea of just showing a few types of looks we can apply to our closets. Easy to understand and copy
You are an actual style genius Lydia! Thank you for all the amazing videos x

Thanks Lydia!!!! Yes!!!! More info for jackets please!!!!! Love your style, and I’ve learned sooo much from you!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Very helpful post, thank you. Not sure how to wear different necklaces, long ones, short, pendat, no pendant etc. Any tips very welcome
Stylish while being classy. That’s quite a great combination! Lydia, when shopping I often refer to your styling tips! Best regards from 🇨🇦
Useful indeed Lydia! Thank you for being so consistent with the content, appreciate the relevance of it all.
Lydia, could you please do a video on different length dresses and jackets to pair with them. Thank you
Wonderful lesson!
Short but deep!
I see exactly what went wrong in my long dress + long coat look last weekend! ❤😘 thanks for the good info!!
So useful! Just wish I had more space for different types of outerwear.
Thanks for the video its always so inspiring❤ I wonder if you’d have some ideas about how to dress with the Balmain-style cropped blazer? I found them so empowering to wear yet so hard to pair with…

I'd like to see your 10 favorite items in your wardrobe and how you would wear 5hem.

Fantastic education as always Lydia, thanks.
Hi Lydia love love love your videos as always. Can you do a video about ballet flats do's and dont's especially for winter
Hi my friend Love this one as I've question myself as to what coat to wear. I was wondering if you could tell us what clothes you would take out of your closet and why.Thank you
This video was extremely helpful.❤ Thank you.
Grey is sure your color ,your gorgeous in grey and black also , great video , spot on info Thanks
Thank you for a great video! Can you recommend what kind of bottoms and shoes look good with knee length jackets? Mine is quilted and with a belt.
It's all good baby. You have a great sense for fashion.
I had this issue last weekend- what coat to wear with a dressy, below-the-knee pleated skirt cocktail dress. I knew my choice wasn't great but I dont own the correct length/style coat.

@naturalwoman8315 I'm so pleased you found something you like - and that fits. The choice is so limited for us long limbed ladies 😔🙂

Your most helpful video yet, thank you!
excellent tips, very helpful. Thank you
Hi Lydia, love this video! Can you do another one of this but more in-depth? What about winter coats?
And with other type of jeans like de mom/baggy ones. And also talk about shoes and bottoms!!! 😬
And hats!
May I ask what jacket you are wearing in the video? Thanks.
You are so so good at this 🩷
This was eye opening! Thank you so much
Very useful video-YES more videos like this. Thanks Lydia ❤
I love your videos!
Always great ideas!
Kisses from Portugal 😘

👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🔥This is one of the most helpful videos! Huge thanks!
Much needed video 😊 thank you! ❤️
This video is so well timed! Would the Toteme flared Jean be a fitted item or loose item? Just trying to figure out what jacket would suit when work with more fitted boots
Great video Lydia, thank you so much! 💗
The coats/jackets you choose look quite large. I like this look - how many sizes are you sizing up?
Hi Lydia, the non fitted long coats do not look good on me. Would you then suggest to go with the boxy bummers instead ? Many thanks!
Hi I love the source unknown shearling coat but it’s sold out. Do you have another rec that’s the same color? Like a gray/khaki.
Also do you have a guide for essential fall/winter coats and jackets?
Can you pair the really long coat with the straight legs? You didn't show this combination. Thanks
Can you do another video for styling boots like Uggs, Inuikii etc (:
Can you link what you’re wearing right now?
What do you pair with tight cropped jackets like the last blue one you had?
They still have this Jovonna Malinka coat in stock 💕💕💕on their site.
which brand offers those very long coat/jacket that cover a long dress? I honestly never found it. Maybe because i never travel in nordic countries ..could you please advice or recomend brands to google it?
Lydia are you wearing Marcela jacket here?
Love this ❤️
Saludos desde México y felicidades por su contenido
Does anything actually go with a cropped jacket?
so what to pair with a fitted one, not necessarily cropped but shorter, I feel like it doesn't match anything..
Very useful video ❤
The Shearling Coat for $488 is made from more than 70% Polyester. 🤔
There is an element of style that you don't account for which is physical proportions of each individual.
For example, nit everyone in your example will look good in a cropped jacket because they may have very full hips.
I actually think that cropped jackets look good on someone with wider hips. Better than on someone with narrower hips at least...
What about a short skater skirt?
Divertido e básico e fishon😊👱💖
Now I know why a young woman's outfit I just seen on the metro looked all wrong. She needs to watch your videos!
Tq Lydia .
💚 frm India.
I love styling loose fitting trousers but having them drag on the floor is silly and feels like a merchandising ploy so next season they can go back to a regular fit and we’ll all look out of touch with current fashion.
👏👏👏👏

I noticed that too. Same parent company? Oh snap, just saw the other comment. Thanks!
I dont always agree with you. Shows how subjective all that is! Still nice video!
❤❤✅🙏🍀😍
A quick tip. Never wear running shoes other then for running. We need more elegance in this world.
That flower dress really ruined the whole video !!
Oh she talk too much
You talk too much, it's boring.
