Lydia, can you make a video about how you take care of your clothes? How do you keep your white clothes whites? What do you do with your leather pants? Do you have any tip to avoid usual “washy” look on black tops? Etc… Thanks

This is important to understand that copying someone's style won't necessarily work for you. Something that looks good on someone else might not look good on you and vice versa. Thank you for the helpful advice!

Best video ever that shows how to choose items that fit our lifestyle, not our “fantasy” lifestyle. I WANT a dressier wardrobe, but my lifestyle is very casual. You showed me how to make my casual wardrobe still look put together by considering all the elements you mentioned…thank you!😍

This is a great video, thanks for posting it. The first "fashion" video I watched was your 2023 spring capsule or essentials videos. It inspired me to get a trench coat. I found an amazing Sezane one on Vestiere. I was over the moon. It fit me like a glove, it made me feel so confident, and I suddenly got into fashion again after 10 years of ignoring it, especially after having kids, family etc. It did something for my self esteem and sort of flipped a switch. Then I saw your Arket spring haul and I bought almost everything you recommended for spring, bc I am basically starting from scratch to make my wardrobe. I was so disappointed. Everything was returned, and it looked horrible on me, it all overwhelmed my petite frame, and the colors did not work on me at all. The only thing I kept was what I ordered for my daughter. I made some other online orders watching videos from various fashion influencers. Again returned almost all, except some items for my daughter. I was so discouraged! Then I started learning more about my body type, colors that go with my undertone, and my own style and went through my closet and analyzed what activities I actually do and dress for on a monthly basis, to understand what I need. This helped a lot. Especially body type, color, and lifestyle. Even the Kibbe body type thing has been great. Now I am being much more intentional and not as frustrated when trying on clothes. I feel like I am gaining a much better idea of what clothes suits me and what I feel comfortable and confident in. Even though I love your videos and style inspiration. My style is definitely not yours:) I'm happy I was able to understand that and find my own way to start building my own personal style. But I do enjoy your videos immensely and you have helped a mom start to get her groove back, so thank you. I know you have done some investment pieces videos in the past. But if you could do another one for summer 2023 that would be great. Accessories bags, shoes, belts, etc. Maybe at different price points, around 500 mark would be awesome. Thanks so much, you look wonderful. Congratulations on your good work.

Love the advice even tho I’m not your target demographic it works for guys as well.
I too WFH and it’s interesting that I like dressing up now when no one really sees me vs when I was in an office setting. I hated dressing up and always seemed uncomfortable. But now I guess since no one is forcing to dress up I embrace a lot more smart articles of clothing.

My style is so different from Lydia's -- West Coast children's librarian who's out in the garden, outdoors with animals, or inside with children most of the time. However I love her style guides for looking put together while you feel good, and solving some of those styling problems we run into inside our own closets, and help me adjust what I'm wearing together to create a more put together whole. Thank you, Lydia!

I'm glad you said this Lydia, because I see you wear a lot of boxy styles with interest but they just don't suit my more curvy figure. Now I am over 50, I am culling my wardrobe from a kaleidoscope of patterns and colours to more neutral styles in quality fabrics because the simplicity of this looks more luxe. You are right about starting an outfit with shoes. I have had flat feet since birth and can't wear high heels, (or loafers or ballet flats either, sadly 🙁), so every outfit originates from flat supportive shoes. I like the look of wide-leg trousers and trainers because it visually lengthens the legs and gives a more balanced look, (literally for me with my flat feet!). I think it's good to analyze what others are wearing but ultimately it is your own body type and personality that will shape your look and give you a unique style.

I also loved classic shapes and colours in natural fabrics when young and still do now. Over the years when I have been tempted to stray the clothes have sat in my wardrobe then eventually taken to the charity shop. Working out your best shapes and best clothes then staying on that path is the best way. I love block colours or stripes, black, navy, white, occasionally red but not beige other than trousers. It works.

Great tips! I’ve def. been guilty of impulse buying a couple of those ‘magpie’ items. They are fabulous and beautiful but sometimes impractical for my lifestyle and won’t get worn very often. BTW I love those blue pillows! Such a soft pretty color for Spring/Summer home decor.

This video, and others that you have that are similar, are extremely useful. You've helped me understand what my style is. It is similar to yours in terms of color (neutrals), and solids (with the exception of small vertical stripes in my case) but more casual. When I retired I got off track with my style, buying things I would never have considered before. I didn't really like them, and it didn't feel "like me." Your videos helped me realize that getting back to what I felt good wearing for 40+years in the corporate world, but in a more casual way, is my best style. I'm now sticking to the neutral color palette again, but instead of crisp cotton or poplin button downs, wearing more linen; instead of lined trousers I'm wearing casual pants and denim; and instead of suiting blazers I'm wearing knit blazers, dusters/toppers and oversize linen or denim shirts as a top layer. I still have some work to do on the footwear. I ditched the pumps for flip flops when I moved to Florida after retiring and am having a hard time wearing anything else, but your videos are helping me get there. Thank you for helping me get back on track.

Lydia, I've been watching for awhile. I love your sensible advice, thank you for sharing your knowledge. Since I've discovered your channel it has sent me on my own personal style discovery journey. Your advice has been paramount in making my mornings easier. I now feel more confident in my own clothing and styling choices. Adding your advice to understanding my body type, flamboyant natural, and I recently also finally understood my colour analysis, with help from the girls at Sephora, has given me tons of confidence when dressing myself & shopping. I used to feel paralyzed when shopping or dressing myself. Looking at all the different colours, cuts, shapes and lengths. I'm ADHD with OCD tendancies so shopping can be very hard, if I don't have a structured plan or idea I end up wasting time and money, buying things I don't need or that don't flatter. With your advice, it helped me understand what's missing, so I can make lists and plan accordingly. Thanks for helping to build my skill set for dressing my self with less stress and more confidence. Thank you.

Footwear is a place I struggle because the shape and style I wear is quite unique and informs the rest of the look. Because of health conditions, all my footwear is completely flat and very wide, many of my shoes are custom made because of this and it leaves me trying to find clothing and accessories that compliment rather than compete with my footwear. Would love more videos which discuss how to find balance in outfits especially with footwear.

I love your videos so much! I love your style, but it's really not my style. I do, however, like to pick certain pieces that you have and try to find a little bit less expensive versions of them. I have a very small budget, but am hoping to save up so I can buy some staples for my wardrobe. Thank you so much for these videos!!

Hello L. I know the work you do to put out valuable content. I love a few stylists on line however they don’t always create a modern/ Lydia outfit and I don’t understand why. The pieces seem the same, white jacket, linen pants, tank, tee etc however your looks are aligned with my style aesthetic. Can you create a series of “Lydiaized” outfits that show the pieces but are adjusted to how you would put the combinations together? Just an idea for some intel - without outing anyone. Hide faces etc. etc. ❤️🇨🇦❤️

I always like your videos when you stress that what you are wearing is your own style and not a dictate of what everyone should wear. Of course you show pictures of you wearing what you like and what is your style but it would be interesting if you could show cutaways of women with different styles wearing the same piece of clothing you are talking about.

Love your videos and advice, I also love neutrals but do add colour in the warmer weather. I would love a ballet shoe like you have, could send link for those please :)

Hi Lydia! I follow you religiously and I have learned so much from your tips. I have two questions. I love the shrunken blazer and have two, but I find it difficult to use them as I don’t know if they would be considered cropped or not. My other question is what is the inseam you would recommend for a 5’3” if you want to use the slouchy Jeans with sneakers? I never get it right

Can you do a video about how to pair a classic/ bohemian style. Think boho hats, flowy, but classic to. I’m trying to find a balance between both vibes.😅

I had to watch this video a second time. I’ve noticed my style differs depending on the seasons. In summers, I go crazy with colours and patterns whereas in autumn, I tone everything down to a preppy style all the way through to the following Spring. So there 💁‍♀️ …how about you girls? Do you dress differently depending on the season? 🏝🍋🍊🍉🫐🐚 🌺🍏

💯💯💯 I rotate my closet biannually, in the spring and fall, because the seasons are drastically different where I live. My spring/summer 'closet' is definitely full of brighter, bolder colors and patterns.. the fall/winter is more practical, polished and all about layering for warmth, with a darker and more sophisticated palette. The cooler seasons are longer too, so my winter wardrobe gets more usage and is much larger.

Loving this! Thank you!! So helpful 😘
So, my own colour palette is warm & muted tones, solids suit me better than pattern, and I love wearing loose fitted non restrictive clothes. I love layering clothes, to create dimension 🤗 just dearly need help how to 😅
I’d add that keeping in shape, helps open up our wardrobe as well, clothes sit that little bit better 😊🤸‍♀️🧘‍♀️🏄‍♀️
