Tim- I just moved into my first home today and it's been emotionally exhausting. Such a big change had me really broken up, but watching your videos has managed to help me feel comfortable and calm again. Thank you so much for sharing your neat collection with all of us.
Excellent as ever. I wonder if anyone playing with the necklace option ever had the patience to choose what order the beads arrived at the string. Nice to Tim! ⭐👍
Interesting collection of mechanical toys and devices. But, Tim, with you Geneva mechanism, you needed to have used a ballpoint pen, or pressed down a bit harder on the paper so we could see what was being drawn. Entertaining video nonetheless.
The "Geneva mechanism" was what my grandfather would call a "bs cutter" or a "calibrated time waster." Miss that old man. Seeing it again made me smile.
It's also known as a trammel of Archimedes. I'm not sure it actually is a Geneva mechanism; it's like two interlocked, which would be over constrained, but then the distance between the axis of rotation is unfixed. Terminology varies a lot. 😊
There was a delay when extracting the pen in the other end of the pen meaning it's not the same pen coming out that is going in. my guess is there is a button or a trigger mechanism in the hole where when you put the pen in on one end, it makes a similar looking pen tip come out of the other side.
i would encourage any new parents to invest in toys like these coz the mechanisms and physical motions encourage curiosity, creativity and ingenuity that you dont get with tablets and screens :)
@@Cheesy_33 Is that a regular store that sells invisible ink pencils, or an invisible store that sells ink pencils. Because I don't think I have the second kind around me. At least I've never seen one.
I think i know how the second machine works; it works with a lever, when the pen is pushed in the box, the lever transfers the direction of the force and the other end pushes another pen out.
Is it as loud in real life as it sounds here? Because I know my kids and if they had this they'd be like, "I'm going to make a jumprope" followed by 7 straight hours of BRRRRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRTRRRRRR
I hope Tim knows how much happiness and enjoyment he has brought to people.
The entire reason goofy old brits exist is to make people happy, so I’m sure he knows.
he knows, thats why he does it.

Great episode, as always! It's nice to see that sir Timothy is still posting videos with his fantastic collection of toys, even after all these years
Excellent as ever. I wonder if anyone playing with the necklace option ever had the patience to choose what order the beads arrived at the string. Nice to Tim! ⭐👍
well, you could simply start the threading yourself instead of letting the machine do it at-random
@@alexanderdickens2517 No no no! That's no fun at all. One hesitates to appear grouchy, but isn't Mr Dickens being a bit of a spoilsport? 🤣
