Rather than extending the hood why not just extend the stable nose piece rearward to meet the hood. That would take care of the center trim piece, you wouldn't have to do much of anything to that hood. I dig it.
Well scrounger extraordinaire, I couldn't believe the haul of aluminum . That's what sets you above the others, anybody can buy shit, you build it out of someone's junk. I had doubts but you are pulling it together, starting to look like something.
You have no idea the anxiety we go thru waiting for your next video. Its lonely, bleak, no fun, cloudy days where is the 35 and is He ok? Oh There he is ! Whew! I was going into a dark place. No Hot Rods. OMG! OK lets watch now. D Very nice video, thanks so much for sharing, Dennis
Messing with seats has to be one of the trickiest things to do but nothing seems to deter you. I thought that you would be running out of puff by now. Oh no you just keep on trucking towards the finishing line. A real pitbull.
Hi....those front wings (fenders) would look cool with Beetle or Porsche headlamps blended in. IMHO. Brilliant transformation whatever;you work miracles with your ultimate recycling projects. Your channel is a must watch.
Morning Brent!! I am one that definitely understands what it takes to put together a car like this, it's a ton of work!!!! you are fortunate that you have an endless supply of parts...where we live in Michigan, most of the vintage parts yards are gone unless you travel out into the country. Be safe, God Bless!!
Consider a fuel tank sending unit from an vintage British car, Also a SU-9 fuel pump is compatible for the fuel tank. Think smaller units that will fit.
The hood really makes the difference, to the overall look, and the bench seat , perfect. Dont you just love overhead welding, I avoid it like the plague, yet another jumper ruined, and burn marks on your head.
I just remember where this build started, and thought to myself "What doe he plan to do with all these old rusty car pieces?" You must have had a vision of where you wanted to go with it because it turned out to be a pretty cool car in the end. Keep up the good and hard work. Kudos Man!!!
Hey Brent i think extending the cowl out is a better idea than filling the front of the hood you are the man you can do it! you can name it stew coupe with everything you got into it, rock on...
Hey Brent, looking good. Really like the seat, and the swing away steering column, Aces. 👌 The fuel tank, personally I would try to keep it high as possible, in the event you air down, and there is a obstruction in the way. Anyway, nice work my friend. Be safe and have a great evening. 👍 👌
Looks awesome! Aluminum welding looks quite difficult. I vaguely recall trying it in trade school 40 years ago and was not impressed with my results at all. Keep up the great work! Spring is coming!🇨🇦👍
Comments here... 1. your front grill fabrication should be adjusted the way you want and blend in to the hood while you can leave the hood doors right where they're at. 2. calling all the name parts on your car = Exactly like I said on a few episodes ago "Franken-Coupe" Hot Rod. 3. Cool find and fab on your seats, I bet your lady will love it. 4. your gas tank subject... please make sure you put something shield protector for your gas tank due to how low ride your going.
Thanks for the great video Brent.I hope the swing away steer column works out.Nice to have the cruise switches with it.Nice look on the front grille and sheet metal. The long hood makes it pop.
Some one else had same thought that I did just make the nose or grille assy fit the hood a whole lot easier in my way of thinking. A thumbs up for the bench seat a whole lot more comfort for who ever rides there. Easier for Ester to drive, she may claim this hot rod.
Bonjour mon ami from your favorite Aerospace Engineer on the Riviera. Having help build over 4,500 F-16 Aircraft with "Aluminum Fuel Tanks" and having been the owner of a Russian patrol boat (made by Sukhoi) with aluminum fuel tanks, I highly advise you coat the interior of your tank with "Fuel Tank Coating" to prevent "Biomass" that forms inside and will clog your lines, pumps and injectors. Trust me ... not fun having to clean it out later ... like when you're at Sea and having to clean out Carb jets in a rolling Sea. While you can't obtain "mil grade/FMS" coating, the good folks at PPG Aerospace offer something similar ... "DeSoto® 823-707". Should be able to spray through the pump hose with your flex hose sprayer ... or "slosh" it around to get a light coat inside. Just free advice ... also gives the benefit of sealing up all pin holes when you do your 5 psi pressure test with Soap/bubbles.
Great video again! That seat and steering wheel will complement the rest of the vehicle! Fuel tanks are always a pain. Keep plugging away at it and it will all come together nicely. I'm always looking forward to seeing your next episode! Keep up the great work!
You could make a skid tank/plate in case you did have a flat. You wouldn’t want to stand back and watch your hard work burn down. Safety and looking right have to work together.
That first music track is so reminiscent of The Long Road by Broken Bells. I have to listen to it every time you put it in your videos. Great tune and great project!
Hi Brent. That seat and steering wheel will look great. You have no fear of making something out of nothing, so your tank that you are fabricating is awesome. Thanks for sharing your content. Have a great weekend.
A real flip forward bench seat in a hot rod. way kool. That hood is gonna be kool. and I have faith about the center hinge/strip down the middle. Be well.
Instead of adding to the hood, add to the grill shell, to help keep the balance of the awesome hood trim between the gaps, it also gives you an eazy reason to slant the grill to the perfect silhouette you're after. But what ever you do , it's turning out to be a nice ride. Really diggin' it
Brent, if you’re not careful walking around the shop, you might let us get a peek of a spoiler for your next project. Meanwhile, I’m really enjoying this one. 👍
Sure is coming along nice you're flying through this project like all the others I don't know how you do so many and also have a your other job thanks for the videos always a good time
I agree with the folks suggesting extending the grille shell back as long as you can make a flip door to fill the rad, or better yet, extend the filler pipe on the rad rearward off the tank like on my 35 Chev master coupe rad .And, I have a chrome centre hood strip here I removed from a similar Mopar hood some years ago I,ll donate that you could cut to fit. Vavavoom delivery included ! Hey, time is flyin" and we gotta help.
Great to see a bench seat will fit. Those swing-aside T-bird steering columns are really cool. A friend's Mom had one in her T-bird back in the day. What about extending the rad shroud/nose rather then the hood?? Gas tank looks good. Look forward to more on the old Dodge. Be safe and Stay well.
It's looking fab Brent. Personally I would lift the tank a couple of inches (or even more)and build the new floor to fit it. But every thing looks great, Joe
The set is sweet, the steering column is awesome, I think you should add the metal to the grill part instead of the hood then just put a longer piece of chrome strip on top to make them match. You're doing a fantastic job on the car , keep up the great work 👍
I was going to suggest the same thing. You are still going to have to modify the hood, but the grill will require even more modifications so why not just extend it to meet the hood?
Someone once said that if you want to be good at anything, you have to make it your life's work. Your skills show that this "hobby" of yours IS your life's work...I've watched nearly every video you have posted and I am truly amazed at your skills...Thank you for showing the world that an abstract idea can become a reality...
Rather than extending the hood why not just extend the stable nose piece rearward to meet the hood. That would take care of the center trim piece, you wouldn't have to do much of anything to that hood. I dig it.
I was gonna say the same thing👍
This is exactly what I came here to post lol if you gotta fart with the rad shell anyways why not extend it back to meet the hood
Exactly what I want to suggest
I was just thinking the same thing 😊
Same here, just extend the sides of the grill to meet the hood.
All day videos would keep me happy watching all would make this 85. Year old guy happy
Ester and Pablo are both going to love the bench seat!
I don’t have a clue Brent how much welding you have done building this car. Your 35 Dodge is going to be one of a kind for sure! Love the work! ❤️💯
Great ingenuity of removing the brace on the seat , it looks perfect.
Esther will be happy your putting in a bench seat! ☺✌
Best overall builder on youtube, not into wasting money, more into making his dreams from odd ball parts. That’s talent!
Johnny cash sang a song "I got it one piece at a time" and it didnt cost me a dime! Reminds me of your new rod!
I'm still going with Frank N Dodge with all the brands that have contributed parts. Going to be a righteous ride Brent. Cheers
The Hodge Podge Dodge!
Bench seat looks great! Love Pablo’s yellow bed! 💪🐶❤️👍🏼
Happy for your shop supervisor has a great shop bed..🐕
Love the t-bird wheel...classy...
Thank you Brent...movin' along.... !
the music was good all the way through how awesome
Well scrounger extraordinaire, I couldn't believe the haul of aluminum . That's what sets you above the others, anybody can buy shit, you build it out of someone's junk. I had doubts but you are pulling it together, starting to look like something.
Brent bring the radiator shell to the Hood and the Fenders up to the hood and then move the hood Ornament back to the trim on the hood
Bench seat 👍 now Esther can sit next to her man when cruising slow in town.
Bench seat win! Fuel cell win! The hood situation will sort itself out so more pieces in place and winning! Thank you for having us along.
The Johnny Cash! One piece at a time!!
With the hood on, WOW she looks AWESOME!
Great work Brent. I love watching you figure things out.
Magic coming together sweet so many cool details
Love the look of a bench seat in this car. Goulash is a great name for it.
Messing with seats has to be one of the trickiest things to do but nothing seems to deter you. I thought that you would be running out of puff by now. Oh no you just keep on trucking towards the finishing line. A real pitbull.
Coming a long nicely,,
Like Pablo's bed....😮
Hey Brent! Really love the front end! You are on a roll! Great job! Look forward to the next. Stay safe!😀😀
Hi....those front wings (fenders) would look cool with Beetle or Porsche headlamps blended in. IMHO. Brilliant transformation whatever;you work miracles with your ultimate recycling projects. Your channel is a must watch.
🤣😂😂😂🤣 The Goulash,😄. Ohh.. Sir did you notice that Pablo was laughing up to hearting his stomach.
The seat is really cool. Whatever you do to the hood, I’m sure it will be just fine. The tank is going to work out too. Best wishes.
I can come over to help out. I'm in New England... cu in an hour!!!
This project is just getting better with each episode!!

i love you show what we do without leaving steps out.....makes it more real for the general public. well done.

Hello from the Netherlands.
thanks for the video Brent .
Sincerely Hollandduck
Hey Brent i think extending the cowl out is a better idea than filling the front of the hood you are the man you can do it! you can name it stew coupe with everything you got into it, rock on...
I'm liking the long look of the hood, she's gangsta for sure. Wickedly cool car!
As much as l liked "Patches," "Goulash" sounds even better! With that wonderful hood on, Goulash is looking fantastic!
Hey Brent, looking good. Really like the seat, and the swing away steering column, Aces. 👌 The fuel tank, personally I would try to keep it high as possible, in the event you air down, and there is a obstruction in the way. Anyway, nice work my friend. Be safe and have a great evening. 👍 👌
The seat looks awesome. The gas tank is looking good. Keep up the good work.
Never seen a bucket of rust look so good
Bench seat, Yeah ! Ester sure will be happy ... and pablo too ... Good job Brent! 👍✨
Hey Brent, a drop in tank style like from a 66 Mustang could be an option. Love this build!
Me and my mates from down under are loving the progress on your project
Looks awesome! Aluminum welding looks quite difficult. I vaguely recall trying it in trade school 40 years ago and was not impressed with my results at all. Keep up the great work! Spring is coming!🇨🇦👍
The Frankin-Goul coupe, enjoyed this build epsoide looking great Brent!
So with the various parts that make up the construction of this hot rod it’s basically an international harvester

Yes that is the goal
Good job! I really like the hood with the portholes on the sides 👌
Great video proud of this fellow Manitoban 👌👍👌👍👏👏👏👏

Love how you look at random things and think i can reuse that for a build , Keep doing what your doing Brent ,
Simply Amazing.
Thanks for sharing .
35 Plymouth hood looks cool!!!
I know you'll sort it out, and make it fit your vision!!!

Well hey. Ester is gonna love the bench seat. She so wanted one. ❤
Looking good. I could live with the seat upholstery the way it is. You have lots of other items to keep occupied.
Kinda looks like a Auburn speedster from the front angle, that's really a cool look 👍
Awesome Brent, you never disappoint. Wicked as ever.
Yeh, make a little plate with the Word Goulash on it and install it somewhere prominent on the front. Cool Idea!!
Sure is coming along nice you're flying through this project like all the others I don't know how you do so many and also have a your other job thanks for the videos always a good time
This is looking like such a neat (fast) road trip car. It is long, low, sleek, and there will nothing on the road like it.
Your interior is really getting plush.
