Not liking the taste of something is valid, having your own food preferences is normal but she didn't have to be rude. If she just said she didn't like the taste of it or that she prefers the Italian version, no offense taken but to say "that's nasty" and "don't do that to spaghetti" that's where it becomes insulting because this is how we make our spaghetti, for every feast, celebration, and holiday, it's part of the culture. The way she said it is like saying we're doing it wrong when it's our version and part of the local culture. It's like someone saying Filipino English is wrong because it's not American English.

Their mixed reactions to palabok and the Filipino spaghetti is understandable. It is an acquired taste for many, especially for a dish like the spaghetti that is traditionally savory.
Based from all the reactions I've watched with Jollibee, it seems that the Jolli Spaghetti and especially the palabok are foods that only Filipinos can love lol
I really appreciated the lady with the black long sleeve blouse as I thought her reviews were honest, fair, and not harsh for the thrill of it. She pointed out that she wasn’t too fond of the spaghetti’s sweetness, but that does not take away from the spaghetti being delicious.
As a Vietnamese, I personally enjoy palabok, quite delicious. But the Sphaghetti, noooooo…you Filipino can keep it to yourself. Me and as well as most Vietnamese are used to the original savory and slightly sour Italian Spaghetti. But who knows? Some might like it. Jollibee is quite popular here. I mostly see Vietnamese order rice with Chickenjoy cover in Saigonese chili sauce with an exclusive item only available in Jollibee in Vietnam: Vietnamese pumpkin soup. With option, they would choose either peach tea or milk tea.
It really bummed me out seeing them hate the Spagetti for not being Italian when it is literally Fillipino. Yall shoulda told them about the Banana Ketchup before to prepare them because they were threw off by the sweetness lol. Its literally my favorite thing in the world
I'm Italian and it did throw me off that the Filipino style is sweet. But after 14 years (I've been with a pinoy for that long), I've come to enjoy it. They don't realize every country has their own interpretation of spaghetti.
This is what I say when foreigners complain about our Americanized versions of food. Italian, Mexican, Chinese, etc. These are American & are catered to our tastes
As a filipino, i get it why spaghetti would be as nasty for their taste buds, but I would die to have a Jollibee spaghetti now. In PH for a dollar you can get that and eat your merry way.
At 1st, I had the same reaction to the spaghetti. Like it wasn't my pallette, then outta nowhere I started craving it😂 with a salty side like Fried Chicken. Only had Jollibee once when I travelled to USA, but luckily we have friends that cook these dishes😊
tip for the palabok: please mix it and the yellow stuff you see is just the egg yolk crumbing down because when they were preparing it, the egg did have some of the yolk crumble. not mixing the palabok very well especially after you added the calamansi or lime will be a little bland on some parts and won't have an even distribution of flavors
I think they were objecting to the annatto. I've seen several Mamah videos where some of them object to orange cheese or other foods with annatto. Maybe it's just not a flavor used in Mexico? I loved the palabok when I tried it.
all video i see here in ytb trying to eat palabok for the first time always forget to tell to mix it first before eating it! thats why they reaction is so so about that food that i grown and love!
The sweetness they're tasting on the Spaghetti is definitely not sugar but Banana Ketchup. Banana Ketchup was used as substitute for Tomato Ketchup during the war due to shortage of tomatoes but since Philippines has an abundance of bananas, we created a banana ketchup. Resulting to a sweeter version of the traditional ones. Filipino spaghetti definitely raises a lot of eyebrows due to its peculiarity so we're used to it 😂. But every Filipino birthday (especially children's birthday) parties will never be complete without this spaghetti.
Mamah in the all black was loving almost everything 😄! Can't wait to try Jolibee! Can you have the Mamas try some West African food?!? Not the best looking but the flavors are there! I want them to atleast try Jollof rice. It reminds me of Mexican rice but with a bit more flavors and more spicier! I think they would like it!
Should've given them the option to choose between regular and spicy for the chicken and the sandwich, I'm sure a few of them would've preferred the spicy since one of them did say they would've added jalapeño - and Jollibee's spicy chicken sandwich does come with jalapeño.
I think in order for them to really you know, get a heads up, they're should've given a slight background about the food, especially for the Palabok and Jolly Spaghetti. Those two are a hit or miss for westerners' palate since italian spaghetti is more well known there.
Peach Mango pie is like the mixture of East Asia (peaches are growing there) and South Asia (mangoes are abundant there) which is make sense since the Philippines is in SOUTH EAST asia....and take note, even Miss Universe 2016, Iris Mitteneare of France, she posted one time in her Instagram when she was one of the host in Miss Universe Philippines 2022 that peach mango pie is her best rehersal snack ever.❤❤
It's true that the spaghetti is for kids though. And then the nostalgia makes it addicting. I love jollibee's palabok though and have to admit that it is an acquired taste
I think we Filipinos only enjoy Filipino spaghetti because of its nostalgia factor, for bringing childhood memories and not actually for its taste. Having been away from the Philippines for 20 years and eating mostly Italian spaghetti, I realized later when I tried Filipino spaghetti after all these years that it actually is too sweet and is meant for kids.
Fun fact, it's not the sugar that makes it sweeter but the spaghetti sauce is not made of tomato but rather banana. That's wht it's called Filipino Style Spaghetti, and a lot of kids love it.
