There was a bay platform north end of platform one that housed the branch line to Dumfries via Loch Maben. You can still see traces at that end of the main station building. Another brilliant video Tim. Thanks.
Thanks again Tim and yes disappointing that the black 5 was not the lead engine on this occasion. I have virtually the same video of the same combination leaving the siding back in 2016 but on that occasion 45407 was twinned with 44871 and that was a wonderfull smoky sight but the diesel was again the spoiler..Was out on Thursday just south of Lockerbie and again at Beattock. but my filming was not up to your excellent standard.
Thank you for your kind words John. I must explore the possibilities both north and south of Lockerbie - but - very few opportunities for steam and it'll have to wait until the days start to draw out. Best wishes.
Very entertraining as ever. Was it just there because that was steam heat only stock ? You don't need a double breakdown in advance surely. Oh no. I've just reminded myself of the ETHELS . . . except that would have been the Brush 4 behind the Black 5.
Those Mark 2s would be electrically heated. The steam loco would be hauling the circular Christmas special from Edinburgh and I had assumed it would haul the empty stock - obviously I was wrong. ETHELs - that's going back a bit!
Another cracking video Tim well done great camera work as usual I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam bye for now Philip
Thank you Colin. There are two Steamtown runs scheduled through Carlisle tomorrow. The first one, light engine according to RTT, I'll just manage if I can catch the first train out of Dumfries. The second, if it runs on time, will pass through just before the last train back to Dumfries (it IS Sunday!). In between, there's a very long gap with not much to do - take a good book with me perhaps!
@@schoolshorts Good luck Tim A long day for you A good book sounds a good idea to pass the time being Sunday it will probably not be very busy with trains passing
@@schoolshorts First move is 2x 37s that have been on route proving duties during the recent storm, Second is the Northern Belle ECS (2x57s), according to the schedules the steam does not return to Carnforth until Xmas eve 24/12
Interesting video Tim, not what we all expected but these things are sent to try us! I look forward to the next one. Best regards, Tom.
Another good vid Tim and a nice open location. Good departure through the station.👍
