I remember avoiding Marvel spoilers with all of my might. The days leading up to Infinity War/Endgame, I didn't use social media at all. I didn’t want a single moment ruined. Now I actively seek them out to see how terribly everything has gone.

I have to wholeheartedly thank Southpark for introducing... "Put a chick in it and make it gay and lame" to the lexicon. It shows the abject disregard these nutters like KK have for the characters and stories they have control over. I can't decide if the Bambi scene or the linguini one drove the point home more.

B) saying its ok to have horrible writing in something just because its for kids is dumb. some of the best written shows out there are for kids. Avatar the last air bender is one of the best shows with the most well developed characters.
@moseszero3281 George Lucas himself said its for kids, directly after the backlash Phantom Menace got for being goofy af. And with Disney's acquisition wtf did you geniuses expect to happen? You also act like writing in the Prequels wasn't bad when some of the most famous memes are literally about the writing. I love Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, but nostalgia is a hell of a drug because some dialog in those films are terrible. There's a reason "fans" led several of the actors to have mental health issues from things that weren't even their fault, like poor lines and weird cues from George Lucas. South Park has always made fun of Disney AND Star Wars, but they are able to stay relevant by poking fun at everyone, especially those that don't have the self awareness to even realize it

The plot is too stupid. If they already built a device that can harvest other planets, why don’t aim for unhabitable, uncharted or at least has no sentient lifeforms? Number of civilization in the galaxy just a mere fraction of the total number of planets or stars. Even if they cannot collect those planets, they can just use it on other planets on their system.
It's all so unbelievable. Lol
What's so annoying is they swap the character from the comics which can only mean that they know about the source material and not only refuse to use it properly, but go out of their way to destroy it to insert their agendas. Then they wonder why it all fails-taking no accountability-while simultaneously defaulting to ad hominems and perjoratives towards the audience. It's incredible to watch.
What's worse is the amount of money they're losing on these projects and still they persist. It's incredible.

I fully agree. any other business, that invests 300 Million USD and then has a net negative, would go bankrupt. no, not Disney, they find a way to push these crazy people in positions to make bad choices and ultimately give us the viewer (paying customer) a worse product.

Although, I don't blame THIS movie for using a character like that. I blame the "universe planners" - the people whose job it was to keep this universe coherent and on the track. The more they want to change it from comic universe, the more of a mess the universe becomes because they cut out characters, places and events that other characters need for their adventures.
Also, what is the point of basing the film and TV universe on comics if little to nothing in the comics is going to be used?

Here’s the whole issue with Hollywood. Casting used to hold a lot of weight. It was an art that has been passed down from years of study. However, a few years back, they decided they need to be diverse in casting. so they got people who were not very skilled at casting. so they figured only thing they had to do is cast diverse actors and everything will work out. Well that did not happen. Just like in sports if you don’t get the best of the best, you will not be the best of the best.
I've been saying this for a while now, but are casting directors even a thing now? If so then they are literally getting money for nothing. You read a character breakdown then cast the exact opposite? That should get you fired as a casting director. Remember when Leon Kennedy was cast as a person of colour in the last Resident Evil movie. I stupidly gave them the benefit of the doubt because the director said he encapsulated every aspect of the character. Watching the film you see that the character is NOTHING like the original and instead a whimpering coward who kills one creature in the entire length of the film.
Just like the narcissists that they are, they already believe they are the best of the best, its the audiences that can't not see it (in their delusional tiny minds).
I used to watch films where the casting directors would nail several future stars and think wow, this person has a real talent to discover talent
They are doing this with teachers, cops, pilots, and doctors too.
Also they have to make sure they get diverse directors who only directed small budget films and think just cause they are of different skin color , race and gender that will make the movie better

There's no way leaking is still a thing at that studio. They would have shut down any opportunity to leak anything by now, so the only conclusion that can be reached is that it is a strategic marketing move. Would love to be wrong about that, but seems unlikely.

Of all the cosmic villains to choose from, someone in the writing staff chose a one-and-done Silver Surfer villain as a successor to Thanos? The Marvels is gonna bomb straight into the Earth's core.
To be fair, given their propensity to rewrite everything out of agenda and disrespect to the source material, they could've turned a one-and-done Silver Surfer villain into a successor to Thanos. They just didn't.
Remember when our heroes had life shaping origin stories that framed their personalities, drives, and weaknesses. Remember Tony learning his life's accomplishments were used to create weapons that kills innocent people, or Peter using his new powers selfishly that lead to his uncle's death? Now we have a "strong female character" who gets even stronger by walking through a forcefield. And then people are confused why we don't watch these movies.

I had to look this one up. I stopped collecting "Silver Surfer" shortly before "Dar-Benn's" first appearance. One of the least consequential characters in the history of Marvel Comics, so I guess that's how much faith they had in "The Marvels" going into it.
Tanos is so memorable because his character and performance in Infinity War.
Not just because he was an enormous threat.

You misspelled Thanos, but unintentionally made the perfect name for the wannabe Thanos in this film.
Thanos was the Darth Vader of the MCU. If you think about the OT, Vader was not that threatening. It was just his malevolent presence the few times he appeared before the final showdown with Luke that made him so meemorable.
Marvel modelled Thanos after Vader. He never fully appeared before IW, BUT we had glimpses and we knew he was somewhere plotting to get thee stones.
Both characters after have some very memorable quotes from when peeedowood could write.
Disney still hasn't learned that when it comes to "power" your heroes are only as good as your villains. And it's got nothing to do with superpowers, it has to do with intelligence, competence, and determination of will, not the ability to scream like a banshee.

To be fair, "I want revenge on the one who killed my people" is Conan the Barbarian, 1982. It's a very good premise for an action film because everyone can sympathise with the desire for retribution vs. genocide. Thing is that Conan suffered and grew thru the film, getting his butt kicked several times along the way, including losing his girlfriend Valeria. While utterly over-the-top (for its day), it was still relatable. Unfortunately, these days we have "invincible girl boss, acknowledge her awesome!" instead, because men have achieved value while women have inherent--which is why these stories don't resonate.
Bet you money at the end of this film they don’t beat the villain they change her mind and she ends up helping them.

How did the girl boss villain get Ronin's staff? And it still has the infinity stone in it? Cause all the footage shows the hammer part glowing purple in the middle and she's shooting purple lightning crap out of it just like Ronin did when he had the stone.
Tbf, there is a chance that the power/lightning comes from her wrist band (she has the other one of Ms Marvel‘s), purple is just the classical color for going with green in comics and the hammer of Ronan was a part of him being a Kree accuser, all of those use these hammers. So it could be explained.
Huge Silver Surfer fan and I know we got this issue but... no, I didn't remember Dar-Bender.
And I agree, Hela wasn't great but okay it worked I guess for the movie. Not a lot of set up to explain her power level or anything but whatever.

Ronan: (GotG) Played by the tall skinny geeky guy from Pushing Daisies. Tall powerful presence that looked and acted absolutely NOTHING like any other character he's played.
Thanos: (GotG, Avengers) Played by Josh Brolin. A hulk-sized version of a purple humanoid, looks and acts nothing like any other character Josh Brolin has ever played.
Gender-Ben: (Latest MCU trash) Played by some guy's current main-piece. Looks and acts almost the same as she does in anything she's ever been in (including interviews), maybe a little angrier.
I think the biggest issue here is how lazy it is. The gender bending is expected at this point, but how is that even supposed to be intimidating? She looks like her biggest foe is most likely a teenage purse snatcher.
