The tube I have seems to suggest that one wet the door as well. "Dampen area with water and apply minimum amount of cement to the gasket channel" I guess that this is a mistake because the instructions do not mention making the gasket wet. Hmm. I did it. I think that a bit of water on the door as well as the gasket may have helped the bead of cement to stick to door.
