I recently bought a Ventris 240 wood stove and were enjoying the inexpensive heat. One thing I have not been able to determine is the maximum safe temperature the stove canbe run at. Do you know what it is?

The tube I have seems to suggest that one wet the door as well. "Dampen area with water and apply minimum amount of cement to the gasket channel" I guess that this is a mistake because the instructions do not mention making the gasket wet. Hmm. I did it. I think that a bit of water on the door as well as the gasket may have helped the bead of cement to stick to door.

I bought a new defiant a couple months ago. If I put more than 2 pieces of firewood in it, it will run away. It has been over 825° with the air supply damper completely shut. There is no way that I could get over 3 or 4 hour burn times. It seems to constantly be feeding too much air. The ash door is latched. The supply damper closed. I can slow it down some by closing the door to engage the catalyst but then it gets even hotter. I would love to talke with someone from Vermont castings. The dealer seems clueless now and it's impossible to talk with the manufacturer. So much for buying American. Oh ya, the blower quit too! What a waste of $5k! If vermont castings is out there, please reach out to me!

Helpful but why do my logs look different? Are sets all slightly different? Mine fit ok but I don't have total confidence since my manual and this video have logs that look different.

Someone needs to upload videos of troubleshooting these. I wont ever buy this brand again and will NEVER shop at watsons again. Had it for 2 years and it stopped working. Watsons refuses to come out and figure out why the pilot light wont come on.

Why when I was buying this fireplace wasn’t it mentioned that I would need a 2.4 megahertz on my iPhone for the app to find the Wi-Fi on my fireplace! My iPhone is only 2 MHz. I am unable to use the sound feature that I paid the $59 to upgrade to. I’m really angry about this.

Whoever the jackass is who decided to ship these logs without marking each log with a clear and easy to find letter to identify it should be taken behind the woodshed. Don't buy it, for they delivered to us already damaged Nectre N350W woodstove.We guess it's due to delivery damage. Awful,shopping experience. with this Seller,for about 55 days we only have now damaged N350 W stove.We reported immediately for this damage ,we fulfilled requirement ito do the report for 48 hrs .Yet these Seller is lingering for about 2 mounts,,They have NO limit to give solution for the faulty product. Don't go with this site,people hiding behind the computer and selling most likely Returned products,giving all kind of promises,but not solution. Even it was promised to be exchanged after dozens of Emails and lots of pictures,they kept trying to create some excuse for Not doing the right thing.. Bad experience,so far .I will not removed this negative comment till these people are not exchanged the product. We are loosing a lots of opportunity to get the job done.And the Summer is Gone.After 3mounts we got the money back,Luckily. Sorry but this is our experience so far.
