  • We travel to Henryetta, Oklahoma, for the AHRMA Vintage Trials National Championship where Greg Houchin wins his class. Watch to the end to see his final results and see the race flyer.
Light rain and wet leaves during the day made the rocks slippery and challenging. As always, the terrain is far steeper than it looks. I had some challenging riding just to get section to section to film the riders. In all, it rained 1.55 inches on race day. Although we were under a tornado watch and had huge lightning and thunder, no tornadoes were sighted near us. Whew!

It should be relatively easy to add a reed valve to that motor. Possibly one of the old Pabatco 100cc kits could be adapted. A 22 to 24mm Mikuni would be just right. A custom trials exhaust would be the finishing touch. Then this bike would pull down low like the TY175 that snuck into the video. I built my first Hodaka trials bike in 1974. Then in 1994 I built a replica of that bike and competed in AHRMA and STRA events in the Southeast.

Looks like you had a great time! Wish there could be something like this in Southern California, only a scant few modern events spread over a year.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I have wondered that the terrain was like in Henryetta. Good job Greg!!

Enjoyed the video! Not many "big bore" Hodakas are ridden in trials - liked seeing that! Nice ride and Congratulations on your National Title!
