Love that he gave you the missing metal mutant pieces. When I saw that he had the packaged figure, I wondered if he had an extra loose one that he was going to give you. Fandom is great :) Also, this video could have been two hours longer and I still would be just as engaged.
no kidding about memory unlocked... My cousin and I took those horror movie spit heads and cut the bottoms out and stuck them onto those mego figures when we were kids. We were beyond desperate to have jason and freddy toys in a time when there were none.
WOW! IT WAS MIND BLOWING! I SAW MEGO TOYS, THUNDERCATS TOYS, TMNT FIGS, AND SO ON! THANKS FOR SHARING JERRY'S ENTIRE COLLECTION! IT WAS ALSO VERY KIND OF YOU, IN HELPING A FRIEND. YOU HAVE A GREAT ONE PIXEL DAN.
When I see videos like this, I wonder if I made a mistake by sort giving up collecting the vintage tmnt stuff. I had been have so much fun tracking down the old stuff I grew up with, and completing waves of toys. Then the 2012 show came around and it was like a new turtle craze hit, so I went all in on grabbing the new stuff. Now, so much of the vintage toys are so far out of my price range, that I have no choice but to enjoy watching these kinds of videos and admiring other's collections.
I was that kid who played with the mid to late 90s TMNT figs. Yes, I still own in a bin some of these... all beat up, missing parts, and very very loose. Cyber samurai don, supermutant leo, sumo mike, shogun triceroton, a exo squad don (mech with mini fig), and a few other random stuff. Funny that they're all worth money, they're priceless to me and probably not worth it with loose joints, no weapons, missing armor pieces, and scuffs/chips in the paint.
Ya definitely hang onto them. With the TMNT vintage resale market going insane the last several years everyone either wants complete with all weapons loose or on card. Lots of like 20 loose vintage TMNT figures without any accessories are going for like $50-$100 these days. So like only a few bucks each or a tiny bit more. The loose but good condition ones and on cards have literally quadrupled in value the last several years. That helped the loose ones missing accessories to start piling up unsold on ebay, Facebook marketplace, toy shops, and toy shows etc. I saw several completed sales on ebay and other sites going for a fortune just for the weapons for TMNT figures between 1988-1996. A lot of about 40-50 weapons are literally selling for around $75-$100 after a few dozen bids battle it out. TMNT accessories are getting like the Star wars Lego figures demand wise. They're expensive and desired for different reasons as the Lego figures are just straight up collectable and the TMNT accessories are wanted to complete vintage figures, but still it's funny how little tiny things like that can suddenly become crazy valuable. Like you I have a lot of vintage TMNT from my childhood. They're also all without basically any weapons and definitely showing wear and tear. I'll be keeping all mine too.
If I had that Shogun Triceraton, that would definitely be one of the crowning points to my collection! I always wanted one, even as a kid, but I could never find it on shelves. Same went for Mutatin' Rahzar. I found Tokka (one of the last I bought as a kid; I found it at Target the day before we were heading out on a family vacation), but never his buddy until I grew up & found eBay. Shogun Triceraton is WAAAAAY out of my price range there though. My collection is intermixed because that's how I played. When I was a kid, I had a few, maybe 1 or 2 figures from each franchise I liked, so all my heroes fought all my villains, sometimes their actual enemy, sometimes it got mixed up. But MOTU fought with Transformers who battled TMNT who went hand-to-hand with ThunderCats who sparred with Bucky O'Hare...it was an awesome time
That's an impressive collection. Truly impressive. I love the Thundercats, I have the LJN Hulkster but not Roddy Piper & I had the Talking Ultimate Warrior but not the The Hulkster one. The Filmation Ghost Busters are awesome and Darkwing Duck was so cool back in the day. It was wonderful to see such collection.
Awesome to hear that there is another toy book in the works! I enjoy your MOTU book and will be sure to pick up the new one as well. Just wondering, will you be categorizing the toys by year? I think its something to consider as it really helps give a big picture view of a toyline's life, illustrating how it changed through the years.
Love this video! TMNT was my jam when i was a kid. Looking forward to that photobook. Hopefully you'll get a foreword from the TMNT creators and the Playmates prez
If you are working on a book of Toys of TMNT I can't wait for it, I can imagine how cool it will be. Seeing all of those toys mixed looks great and like he said to capture your attention on everything he has.
Wuaaaaooo 👀 that sublime and impressive collection of TMNT and Thundercats is a true luxury, your friend has unique pieces, it's all my childhood and that of many collectors, a wonderful 👏🏻 video, you are the best UA-camr Pixel Dan, greetings 🙂👌🏻 👏🏻🇦🇷
I went on alien encounter as a kid and cried so much that a Disney employee had to come over and walk me through what would happen step by step until the ride was over. Lol Good times.
6:00 That 5th anniversary TMNT golden figure it's pretty cool, although you'll never be able to unsee the fact that it's actually Donatello's mold and not Leo's 😅
Wow, just wow... what an amazing collection! Thanks for sharing with all of us, really really incredible. And it's funny, just as you showed off the metal mutants armor you got I was on ebay looking for pieces of the Metal Mutants Raphael figure that I'm trying to complete for my collection lol
I look forward to your next project/ books release. I really enjoyed the time and research that went into the MOTU book and anticipate this one as well. Thanks for the fun videos and time you take to talk toys wether online or in person. Thanks again.
"Toy hunting isn't always about finding something new to buy". Me.... "Technically correct since only 99% of toy hunting is all about buying another toy".
I had one of those 5th year gold Leonardo's in the box. I kind of messed it up trying to see if I could remove his weapons as I wanted to use the weapons with my regular figures and ended up just tossing it.
I think the problem with colored chrome is that it's actually silver chrome with clear paint over it. I suspect there's some sort of chemical reaction taking place that causes the chrome to flake. Chromed Transformers Beast Wars figures have the same issue, especially Transmetal Rattrap.
Definitely buying your book when its complete. I need it for my collection. At 600 MOC literature would complement the collection Awesomely. Thanks Dan for your excellent work.
What was your very first TMNT figure? Mine was the original Raphael. I still remember seeing it on the shelf at Rose's and begging my parents for it. It was only $4.95 back then
My parents were big swap meet and Park & swap shoppers, though I was a child of the 80's I got a lot of those second hand toy of the 70's like the Mego Spider-man and the Shogun Warriors: Mazinga, Gaiking and my favorite Godzilla! It was great to have a 19.5 inch Godzilla to step on my 3.75 inch G.I. Joe's which made it pretty much in scale.
Great video. And I'm really looking forward to your Ninja Turtles book, TMNT was one of my two big toylines when I was a kid (the other was Power Rangers, if you're wondering).
Hey Dan! I was a big fan of you growing up and Ik you reviewed almost if not every 2012 figure back in the day so I was just wondering if you’re planning on reviewing the new Mutant Mayhem figures. I’m eh on the trailers so far but the turtle figures in particular look pretty good! Especially Leo. Let me know if you’ve decided!
When Power rangers came out That was it for the TMNT. Great collection. paying retail price for all of them. Now in 2024 They say Power rangers may end up dying as well. I stopped collecting TMNT when Transformers came back My main focus. Back then I started to buy 2 of each. I had extra money, I wished I would have bought some of the tmnt at the time. I think back then I got $10 a week allowance.
If I remember, those two packs were Value Packs sold at places like Sam's and maybe Costco. I definitely remember when they were out. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Love that he gave you the missing metal mutant pieces. When I saw that he had the packaged figure, I wondered if he had an extra loose one that he was going to give you. Fandom is great :) Also, this video could have been two hours longer and I still would be just as engaged.
Man, yes! I couldn't believe it. Jerry is such a sweet dude. And I agree - the collection is INCREDIBLE! I wish I could have spent more time on it!
@@Pixel-dan ive got some of the the pewter figures MOC , pre toon too. Got a japanese key ring also altho box kinda squashed

no kidding about memory unlocked... My cousin and I took those horror movie spit heads and cut the bottoms out and stuck them onto those mego figures when we were kids. We were beyond desperate to have jason and freddy toys in a time when there were none.
Maybe this is a hot take, but, I'm starting to think that Dan might REALLY be into toys.
This is what I love about seeing people’s collections because it’s toy history being preserved. We will never get toy lines like this again.
Hi Pixel Dan! I really enjoy this toy room collection tour, very awesome! Thanks Jerry and you for the experience, you rock guys! 🤘😎
Been waiting for a TMNT of the same quality as your MOTU book 🔥
That alien encounter figure is AWESOME! I rode that when I was about 11 years old, and it was utterly terrifying.
I really wish I could have experienced the ride! The figure is so cool too.
I never knew there was a figure for the Alien Encounter ride/show. I thought that attraction was really cool and innovative

OMG Greg!!! I'm thrilled that you saw this. But you can come by and see it in person anytime!!
This is one of the most amazing collections that I have ever seen!!!
This collection is absolutely amazing!!
Those warrior winged figures makes me think of an amazing crossover episode with Gargoyles.

Awesome collection, love the flea market approach to the display. Also, cool to see your Metal Mutants Michelangelo slowly coming together.
I need to buy Jerry's Collection off him😂. He has an amazing collection and all his figures are in mint condition. Amazing just amazing 👍

Dan it brought back memories seeing those Batman Returns toys, I had only two of them, which were Arctic Assault Batman and the Penguin. Thank you.
I love to hear it!!

Is master splinter named that because he is a splinter of a Stick from Daredevil?
Those kids were really on to something.
No, though DD was trained by a guy called Stick so maybe there is some connection there
