I did not mention it in the video but the top speed on this car is 165MPH! What are your thoughts on this Mini GP?! Would you buy one if you had the means? Also, don't forget to follow me on Instagram & Tik Tok as well!
So they dyno'd a gp which made roughly 260whp. One could if they wanted, save 10 grand an get a JCW with a stick. Just need bolt on and tune to hit 285whp. It really just boils down to preference and if one wants exclusivity
I have owned a MINI GP3 for a few weeks (#1000) and cannot possibly describe how much I love this car. Have been a MINI owner since 2006 and am very active in the community so I know the brand and the people very well - and this car is something special even by MINI standards. The new MINI slogan is "All about the drive" - and this car is the pinnacle. It tends to make people giggle and laugh when you are able to do things on the road and track that you didn't think you could. MINIs have always been "surgical instruments" for carving a very fast line on curvy roads and sharp turns at high speed (wheels are put as far as possible in the corners - test drives usually involve doing cloverleafs at high speeds) - and this one keeps that handling but jacks up the power to 11. All the "compromises" in the car keep the weight WAY down to a level not materially different from my 2006 first generation MINI - in a seemingly larger car - but the horsepower is now a THIRD HIGHER. With all that weight reduction, the suspension and brakes are perfect in helping you stay in control and master that power. By the way, I posted this review on a Facebook GP3 forum restricted to only owners of the car - and the general consensus is that you are the first and only reviewer WHO GETS IT AND UNDERSTANDS THIS CAR !!! People are amazed that someone finally understands this car and what's special about it. It's ABOUT THE DRIVE. I am more than happy sacrificing power seats, stereo rear speakers and subwoofers, and all the other frills for the drive experience. That's what makes the price worth it. I often just turn off the radio and listen to the car music. So many of the reviews to date focus on what was taken out of the car, how the fenders look, whether the wing really does anything, and all manner of nonsense. No one has really spent much time on the drive experience. That's why we buy these cars. Thanks again for a great review !!
I Work in MINI garage in Ibiza, and had the chance to drive it, it's amazing, mi firs MINI was also a 2006 MINI S, and since then I'm in love with the brand, I preffer the old school, but MINI its still MINI... congratulations for the GP
Right on brother! #1672 here and you summed up the GP3 experience. These are proper little monsters. I fell in love the moment I test drove one and felt the surge of torque and the brakes biting down like a porsche along with the insane turn in and grip. Drive mine everyday, even through winter (put some continental dws on mine) and will switch back to the oem hankooks in the Spring.
Well done The first GP3 review I have listen to and gives a true feeling of what the car is all about entertaining and engaging drive with some driving skills needed to get the best out of this car
You will get the back fire noise on exhaust if you pump the gas pedal and release then quickly press it up down quickly... I mean fast. It already has the exhaust you just have to know how to drive it. When you did the exhaust demo I was surprised you didnt do that to show it off. Basically pumping the gas pedal will make the exhaust pop. Your not doing any damage to anything. What your doing is dumping a more fuel into combustion chamber for a back fire or popping noise. Most cars with that kind of horse power can do that especially the gp which sounded like it has a free flowing exhaust from factory. It sounds free flow from your exhaust demo on your video. It's expected from a sports version that's a 100 percent given in sports version.
I really like the JCW Clubmen more only because of AWD and more practical. I also live in Vermont and feel like it would do better in winter. The new 2021 Golf R did perk my interest however doing more research into it. I hated it more and more. Vermont is the state that loves Subs thr most but I like to be different and Minis might be my thing. Not common here as much as Golfs and WRXs. So I'm sure with a 2020 JCW Clubman I will catch some eyes. Also its cheaper then the 2021 Golf R and personal looks better. This car you're showing is sick though just with out AWD and a bigger back seat. I have to pass, family man so I need space.
If you deal with winter, this would not be a good option AT ALL. Would definitely need to switch tires. These Hankook tires have such little tread that there would be no point in driving in anything other than sunny weather and light rain.
my dad put 50k into his mini on changing the horsepower and tuning it and doing all this stuff to it but it was a sleeper. he was able to hit 200mph and thered be times he would come home to his break on fire. he ended up selling it for $4k for a v6 2003 camry with 50k miles
I love my 07 Cooper s r56 but I love that. Thank you for showing me that there is a key in the key fob. I have had this car for a couple of months and you just showed me that where the key is LOL. Thanks bro 👊
Excellent Review !!Love The GP ! Mini coopers JCW's Not Every Motorist Wants A SUV or Crossover or AWD !!!!! Wish Car Manufacturers Get that thru their Heads
You said at the beginning that you would discuss every little detail of this car, but you didn't mention the Torsen differential, you didn't say anything about the engine, or any specifics about where such power comes from compared to the JCW unit. Does it have other, larger coolers? how much wider is it in the wheels? is the exhaust the same as in jcw?
That instrument panel is a huge improvement over the older setup that looked cheap, especially the old LED gas gauge. RPM looks almost like how Saab used to make RPM, but that is a really big gas gauge!
Cool intro again 😂 Lots of details on this MINI GP. Not a fan of the quarterpanel. Almost the same stuff like the Honda Civic R-type. I like my car conservative A Ford Focus ST is a good competitor for this MINI.
It’s technically a 2020 but since the US got it a bit later than Europe, we are calling it a 2021. COVID-19 also threw off timing so it can be either at this point. No differences between the year models.
Not a good daily driver, unless you don't mind very harsh bumpy rides. It is a great car for track, or for enthusiast that don't mind giving up comfort for speed and style.
I just found your channel and I have to say what the hell bro you’re not making any more videos seven months ago was the last video what’s going on you got a huge follow me. I would like to see more videos this year for 2023.
Seems like for the price, the GP3 should be faster than it is, but I think you’re paying more for the exclusiveness of having a “limited production” car more so than for its performance.
Well it’s also depends on the road your on lol.. and your on a fun road! Drive this in downtown Boston at rush hour lol .. not so fun! My 2019 golf R turns into a penalty box lol

I bought one, and by no means disappointed. #2502
The red thing in the back is a strut brace for your suspension. I picked up number 1394 last night. This thing is a rocket!
@@ylafla how many miles she got on her
@@ricefarmer1point6 I got the GP with 56 miles and added another 70 within 2 days. This thing is a blast to drive.

@@cybercityoedo808#0565 here, love my angry mule.😂
The graphic on the side is meant to represent the letters "GP" blurred by high speed...
Love this car and the choose your fighter intro.
Never been into Minis but this one is pretty sweet! Great video Forrest, appreciate your time!
I've had my new GP3 for a few days and love it. I was warned about the firm, bumpy ride but not noticeable when focused on spirited driving.
Well done The first GP3 review I have listen to and gives a true feeling of what the car is all about entertaining and engaging drive with some driving skills needed to get the best out of this car
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by & hope to hear from you again! 👍
I’m 73 just bought the cooper S had it remapped great to drivy
The decal is GP. Ps. I have a GP2...my gaol is to collect all 3..
The red decal on the side kind of looks like a stylized GP.
boofighter correct that’s what it stands for
Good eye🧐
Yes its because the GP circuit
Great review.
I’m especially impressed with your video quality and editing.
Thank you!
Love the review Forrest.
Big fan of chill folks who appreciate cars (The Straight Pipes, Doug Demuro etc.)
This car doesn't have Torque Steer!
Scrub the tyres properly, get a layer off & kiss torque steer good bye ;)

I just love the gp no other look like it. I have mini cooper s 2016 . My next will be a GP . Il like the reviews.

You are so underrated, you deserve more subs. I hope you will reach more subs soon. I subbed.
The color scheme is spot on.
Super dope review man! Appreciate the crispness of these shots, editing, and overall review style. Smashed that subscribe button!
Great objective informative review...thanks!
The side Decal is a combination of the 'GP' moniker.
Sick intro
Thanks!
A really good review.👍
Thank you so much!
Adding a cargo net in the boot hooked between the seat belt tethers in the back and the seat belt D-rings up front makes it very useful. #2974

Great job
The only thing I would change in this car is that dumb ricer rear wing, everything else fits perfectly!
Shame you didnt demonstrate the kick down when travelling at 70mph.... it's like hitting a warp speed function!
Yeah lol, 8th to 3rd is incredible
does this GP come in AWD system? standard or automatic? no optional sunroof? the wheels come standard 18"? 45k?!!! holy shits!!
Nice Intro flow!
300hp club?
It has 302 bhp.
Is it a '20 or '21 model year? Some other reviews are calling it a '21.

serial number 2497 here! I love mine!

Killin it bro
What kind of microphone and video equipment do you use Forrest? The audio quality and your voice sound so crisp!
Thanks! I use a Sony A7iii, a Deity D3 Pro, and a Zhiyun Weebill S.
The overfender flares are a pain to clean and wipe

Hey you gave the hp but what's the displacement or liter? Great video btw
Sorry! It’s a turbo 2.0 four cylinder engine. Same engine from the M135i

What are the odds of this video coming out right after Doug Demuro’s 😂
I KNOW! That can be both a good and a bad thing. We will see how it plays out! Lol
Hope you still enjoy the review!
But that side cladding over the wheel wells? No. Really?
I want one
Great review. Not too much a fan of the gigantic wing, but nice details elsewhere. Red accents look good too
17.3 mpg ?????
great video quality, but you really need to learn to drive and get seat time to give proper feedback on cars.
IT'S OVER PRICED BY AN EASY $10,000.00...PERIOD!
Someone should install the Ford Raptor V6 engine 2018 model inside a Mini Cooper and see how much that horsepower launches a 600 lb vehicle
It’s 718 Porsche Cayman Money territory…..
Lol ill go with an sti everytime!! Mini is horrible and will leave you walking!
Say all you want until you own one. This thing is a one of a kind and only 3000 available worldwide.
