Yes, the cooling system will require bleeding after refilling. There's a bleed point on the EGR valve at the back of the engine. Full details in our manual!
I have been looking everywhere for a video like this as i'm doing the same on my Mk6.5 Fiesta 1.6 tdci and it has the same type of thermostat housing in the exact location. I haven't started to do mine yet as i could not figure out how to take of the hose with the white band around it and the thinnest hose with circlip which you just twisted off. Now i know. I want to also flush the engine and heater matrix/core along with the radiator on my car but i don't know which hose i should direct a flow of water into, to flush the engine so to see the water coming out of the bottom hose. This the last bit for me to work out now out before i start. Any help appreciated.
The easiest way is to flush the engine, radiator and heater matrix separately. If you remove the thermostat housing and bottom hose from the radiator, you should be able to flush the engine, then the radiator. All you need to do then is disconnect both heater hoses at the engine compartment bulkhead and flush the matrix. Be prepared for fluid spillage!
@@HaynesManuals If i disconnect the thermostat, i dont know which hose is the top one anymore. Nearest the firewall, there are two hoses. One has a white band around it which is the hose release tab and the other has no markings or any tab or clip and is a platic push fit hose. So out of the two , which is the top hose please.
Thank you for the great video!

Whether it is necessary to bleeding the cooling system and how to do it? Thanks

Super!!!
Thanks!
Are the front bolts you refer to, nearest to the radiator?. Just to make sure.
Yes, all references to front, rear, left and right are from the drivers seat
so you only add new coolant in the expansion tank not in the radiator?
The video is correct for UK models - US models may be different
