Mrkent the charge cable I purchased works fantastic , great workmanship . With this cable and my after market balance charger the bebop stock battery charges 100% whereas the stock charger charge to only 90%.

Mr Kent do you have any suggestions ? I was taking some video today and all went well. I was flying with the original big sky controller 1 and the Bebop 3.0 After plugging in the bebop's micro USB to my PC I could not get it to connect to import the video which it has done ok many times before. After jiggling the usb connection I got it to connect to the pc and download the videos, but on unplugging the micro usb the whole socket came away from the motheboard. OK I thought .....so now I will have to download any videos/pic via wifi and the FFP app........ no big deal. So after recharging the batteries off I go to the field but now the Skycontroller wont connect to the drone and all I get is a single red light indicator led on the sky controller showing the bebop connection Normally it goes red and then measured the power of the bebop battery. I also dont have any wi fi indicator led on the left of the skycontroller just a single red led? The sky controller goes through the sequence of tests white LED before it gets to the red LED indicator. The strange thing is that I can connect and control the bebop with my Tabletphone no problem, just not with the skycontroller Would a broken micro USB prevent the bebop from communicating with the skycontroller ? Any help or suggestions wold be appreciated as re-soldering the SMD micro usb is beyond me, PS tried a Hard Reset on the bebop and that went ok but still no connection to Skycontroller
I have never heard of such a thing. It may be that the micro USB connector is also used as part of another area on the circuit board. They do things like that to save space on the board. I wish I had a good answer for you but I'm sorry, I don't. It is a drone that has a long life -- about five years for mine. God bless you.

The thing that is confusing me is that although the skycontroller cant find the bebop, then how can the bebop be found without any difficulty by my Mobile phone or Tablet ??? The sky controller clearly is sending out some kind of signal as the FFPro app needed me to Calibrate the skycontroller and I was able to do this and it did calibrate ok, so there must be a signal going out and being received by the skycontroller ! The skycontroller is found by the phone/tablet WiFi, but when it connects is says "No Internet Connection" But if I select the Bebop's WiFi then it connects fine and says "unsecured network" Its like the bebop is sending a wifi signal that can be found by the phone, but not a signal that can be found by the sky controller.?
@@user-sr8pn9xg8z Hi Mr Kent, Well I have made some progress. While connected to the bebop via my tablet /FFPro I went into "Networks" and found that it was jumping between 5.8ghz and 2,4 ghz ? I managed to get it fixed/solid on the "All" Setting in networks. and now I can connect with the sky controller again as normal with good wifi So I think much of this is the FFPro software. Also now the screen display in FFPro is different ! Before when I pressed the "CONNECT" button it would just tell me to connect the WiFi but now when I press "connect" I see a long list of possible wifi connections with the bebop at the top of the list. On selecting that, all the skycontroller connections started working again and I get the skycontroller connected indicator, and a good video signal, plus on the sky controller it now shows the power indicator of both the drone and the skycontroller batteries plus a full strength wifi signal on the left area of the sky controller? Do you have any thoughts or would anyone else like to jump in ? many Thanks PS Yes!.... I did have the latest software on the skycontroller and on the drone with no updates indicated !
Just discovered your video so Im trying the reset .. I took my Bebop2 out the other day after no flights for a very long time .. it now doses this weird thing .. it flies about 20-30ft forward and then(own its own)rises about 10-20ft in the air, spins to the left and then immediately drops back to the initial flight height that I was flying at .. it only does this going forward, all other flight directions are just fine .. even if I let the controller go when it starts to rise, it continues rising and completes the spin before coming back down to the height that I was flying .. any ideas what might causing this? I disconnected the controller and tried flying with just the app and it still does the climb and spin thing .. so that tells me that its not the controller and I also changed out the blades
Hmmm - I'm guessing there has been a firmware update since you last used your Bebop, but not sure. Here is a link to a website explaining how to update to the latest firmware. I did the reset and took it out and the same issue ... if I fly it slow it goes straight and steady but as soon as I give it the gas, it goes about 20-30ft and do the climb, spend, drop thing

Another great video Mrkent. Finally got my skycontroller 2 replacement and now I'm going to reset everything and start from scratch. It only took them 76 days to send my replacement skycontroller 2. ( Must be some kind of new record for them ) LMAO ! God Bless :o)

My drone would not finish the compass calibration so I got a new one and it is doing the same exact thing. Calibration looks normal on first 2 steps but last step will not complete? Ever see this?

Hmmmmm . . . Well, as they say, "Two out of three ain't bad." But seriously, that is something to be concerned about. I think if I had that issue I would go out to a big park or open field and begin testing close up at first then extend the range while checking Return To Home. If that still works from a larger range it appears you can still fly with assurance that your Bebop will always come back. That's about all I can come up with. The Mavic I just got only requires two calibration positions - Yaw and roll. And I think those are the first two procedures in calibrating the Bebop. I hope all goes well for you and God bless.
@@AIRVLife I had the same problem today with my parrot bebop 2 power.I stumbled across this video and tried the reset and with no luck I kept getting the calibration error message after the final calibration. So I started thinking about how I did a firmware update a few days ago. I did some more digging and decided to downgrade the firmware and used this video ua-cam.com/video/mSMJF7Y-E6I/v-deo.html after doing this I was able to get a successful calibration!!! It is very windy in Indiana today and am debating on taking it out in the 30MPH wind gusts. Hi..my power edition hit a tree limb and fell about 20ft. I'm pretty familiar with these things.Now it wont connect to the Sky Controller. When I attempt to reset the drone (turn it on and wait for the light to stay on) the light just keeps blinking. I held the button for 15seconds but that didnt help. Suggestions??
I just got in from a flight with bebop and a crash just before touchdown ....hit the ground and slided then took off again and I had no control for a few seconds then came down into the woods about 10 ft away; what do you think? also/ I thought I did 8 or 10 videos and when I connected to internet only had 3 vids there...why is that I wonder..appreciate any help.tnx oh, and the return to home feature don't work at all. I am only using the controller and I don't go out of sight with it..
Wow, that is strange. Are you sure you didn't accidentally touch a control in the excitement of the crash? Why else would it take off again? The firmware and software aren't generally affected by a crash. Also, if your are referring to the Flight Data Manager I think it had some issues over the past week or so. I re-installed FreeFlight Pro recently to get it to work correctly. As the song goes in Toy Story, "Strange things are happening to me." Wish I had more answers. God bless.
Mr. Kent: When you uninstall FreeFlight Pro, you will lose all of your saved flight plans if you have purchased the FlightPlan program from the App store. How can you save these to another device and then transfer back onto the newly installed FreeFlight Pro app? Also, if you uninstall/reinstall FreeFlight Pro, will you still have the Flight Plan app previously purchased? Many thanks
Thank you Carole for your questions. It has been too long for me to recall the correct answers. I don't think you will affect the Flight Plan app by uninstalling and reinstalling the main app. All of the flight data is stored in the drone except for the videos. I hope that is helpful. God bless.
When I initially turn it on it won't stop flashing... it had a fall and a motor broke which I replaced. The light doesn't stop flashing, the fan comes on briefly as soon a I turn it on but then it goes away too. Any idea?
@@user-sr8pn9xg8z no worries... I checked all 4 motors were connected... Same thing happened. So I took it apart to check the motherboard. It has a few burned spots and the CPU as a hairline crack. So that's a goner... Ordered a replacement motherboard. 😊

Hmmmm - Off the top of my head I don't have an answer unless Parrot put a limit on the storage capacity of that area, or it has something to do with whether or not they no longer support that drone. I'm sorry to hear that and wish I had an answer for you. God bless.
my Parrot Bebop 2 Drone. propellers push down at the front and up at the back there is only one way my propellers will fit, it try's to flip itself over backwards or tries to if I hold it

I ABSOLOUTLY cannot get mine to calibrate. I've owned 3 of them and an very familiar with where I need to be with the drone while doing it I mean I don't even wear a belt . Hi Jonny. I really don't have an answer. If you have tried and tried and it still down't work it has to be something wrong with the drone itself. Each of the front legs should have a small round coaxial cable running along-side the flat cable that feeds the motor. One of the front legs holds the sensor for that but I can't recall which one it is. If you just received it and can't get it to work I would suggest returning it for a replacement. If you are referring to the phone app, it may be that you already have it installed. Although Parrot no longer supports the Bebop 2 I found the app in the Android play store. Thank you for your comment and God bless.

I had a smooth crash and my bebop 2 crashed into a curtain. I wasn't really a crash but my drone started beeping and motor error on my smart phone appeared. However, now when I turn it on it does not show any problems on the app if drone's motors got damaged. So, what do you think?
Hello Aramik. You are probably OK. It would be a good idea to do a factory reset and always reboot your phone before you fly. Just start out by flying close by and at very low altitudes to check out how everything works. Thanks for the input and God bless.
Quick question maybe you can help or maybe it’s nothing when looking at my app the gps symbol next to the controller stays white but the gps symbol next to the bebop turns green? Am I doing something wrong?
I'm not 100% sure about that. It means your controller is not picking up a GPS signal. It may be that you have airplane mode ON which prevents you tablet or phone from receiving that signal. I haven't flown my Bebop 2 for a while so I really can't be of much help on that. I'm sorry.
If you are flying it with the wifi from your phone that may be the problem. I tried something like that once and didn't have good results at all. Thanks for your comment and question and God bless.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Jello is generally caused by props that are out of balance. Check them closely and replace any that have nicks or dents. In the process of changing motors it is also possible that you may have one that is not completely seated. Other than that I can't think of anything else. God bless.
I've just reset my bebop 2 and now it won't take off anymore all the Motors spin very fast for about 5 seconds then stop, both GPS signals are on for Bebop hand controller 2, I can see what the drone can see, I can also the video it's taking, when I press take off the motors just spin for about 5 seconds and stop, I did take it apart and put it all back together exactly as shown

Thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a question about the sky controller 2 connected with my galaxy note 4 via USB. Every single time I connect the phone and sc2, it connects and then disconnects and it's a constant loop. Any ideas? Everything is updated on the sc2 and I'm running Android marshmallow on my phone.
Sorry about getting back to you so late. Are you saying the FreeFlight Pro stops working once you start it? The first thing I would suggest is to re-boot your phone before starting. Also you may want to uninstall FreeFlight Pro and re-install it after re-booting your phone. That's about all I can think of right now. I hope you get it figured out. When I turn on free flight pro I connect the sc2 and phone to the app. It connects fine but after a few seconds it loses connection. I've tried different USB cables and two different phones and it connects, shows a video feed, but after a few seconds it disconnects and reconnects in a constant loop.
@@user-sr8pn9xg8z I got it used ,but it is in perfect condition and I had 15 successful flights in the past 2 days and on my last flight it took off and rose about 6 inches off the ground and immediately landed and wont turn back on ...even after holding in the power button. I'm not sur how good Parrot is about fixing products but I did send an email to them explaining everything and they said they would get back with me...I'm gonna call tomorrow but i hate to think that i would have to go through the grueling process of shipping and waiting...just off of a hunch...seems like it may be the motherboard.
@@droneready8278 Well, as I understand, Parrot does not support the Bebop 2 anymore. Next question, do you have more than one battery? If so try another one. If not make sure your battery is fully charged. Hopefully it is in the battery. God bless.

Hi Paul. Thanks for your question. I cannot say for sure but you cannot damage your Bebop if you follow directions carefully and DON'T Rush. Give it more time than you think you should. Hi again Paul. I see a problem here: The phone and controller are to be connected by the usb cable only when using the skycontroller. Have you been doing it that way? Be sure to connect the usb cable before doing anything else. Then start the Bebop, wait 30 seconds or so and start the skycontroller. When its light turns green open the FreeFlight Pro app. That always works for me. God bless.
Yes I have always used a usb cable, I'm maybe thinking it could be the usb accessorie I'm using, it shows on my phone that it's charging when hooked up to sky controller, so I've assumed that it's ok, will have to check agsin with other cable just incase,thanks again
Yep, the "charging" issue shouldn't affect anything. The android phone battery has a lower voltage rating than that in the controller. The Apple devices have a higher voltage than the controller so there is no problem with them. God bless.

Couple of questions: Are you using FreeFlight Pro? and, did you uninstall it and then re-install it? And, finally, if you did re-install it did you NOT turn it on until the Bebop 2 and Skycontroller 2 were both turned on. Those are important steps if doing a "factory" reset.
mrkentdotcom yes, I did uninstall and install again , don't seem to connect , just the iPad, but once I m connect the ipad to skycontroller, connection with drone gone
I would suggest you watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/HpH5SPDFYvQ/v-deo.html This method will keep your tablet from connecting with your Bebop 2. Just make sure the USB cable is connected to your tablet before you begin. Step 1: connect the USB cable. Step 2: start your Bebop 2 Step 3: When Skycontroller needs FreeFlight Pro it will either bring it up or (if you have more than one ap) it will show you a selection. But watch the video. It is only seven minutes or so long. I hope this help.

One problem with Uninstaller and reinstalling the free flight pro ap it doesn't reinstall the flight plan or ow me functions .you have to re PURCHASE those again .I have 3 beebops and 3 devices . A Samsung phone .an apple phone and a Samsung tablet .I've had to repurchase the flight plan twice on each of them .same user name and password on each for my parrot

Thanks for your question Saad. Make sure you reboot your phone before every flight. Go into settings and make sure "Return To Home" is set to ten seconds or less. How are you getting it back down to the ground if you cannot reconnect to it? God bless.

Thanks so much, does that telemetry display on your smart device in real time or only when making a video. Last question, I see online some folks have added antennas for longer range. I am not much of an electronics wiz, is there any ready to use extender available?
Answer #1: No the telemetry data is only displayed on the final cut. Answer #2: The larger antennas came with the Bebop 1, allowing users to switch between 2.4 and 5 GHZ. If you are using the Bebop 2 with the Skycontroller 2 you only have 2.4 ghz available.
MrKent, 4 days ago, My Skycontroller 2 stopped connecting/talking to my smart phone. I didn't drop, bump or damage either device. It just stopped connecting for no reason. I'm stumped. I've had over 50 flights using the FPV before this happened and I'm following the same connection process as always.. I tried using another USB cord, uninstalled Freeflight Pro from my phone and installed the latest version but NOTHING I've done has fixed the problem! It still says no controller connected. I can still fly the Bebop from my phone via Bebops wifi, or straight from the Skycontroller but with line-of-sight only. FPV of course does not work. Do you know if there is a reset procedure or hard reboot specifically for the Skycontroller 2? I have been in touch with Parrot customer service and sadly, they can't help me. I asked to speak with the engineers and designers of the Skycontroller/Bebop 2, and have had zero success with that. Any help/knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have seen this before. Every time is is the result of a broken connection inside the skycontroller's usb port. It is fixable if you are good at soldering. There is a video you may want to watch which is how to make that repair: ua-cam.com/video/398L7EHMLPc/v-deo.html It is possible, or you can do like a friend of mine and take it to someone with the right soldering tools like a ham radio operator. I don't know of any other reason for this to be happening. I know - not good news. God bless.
MrKent, Thanks again for your willingness to guide and assist. I finally got the issue resolved! I'm VERY happy! And I must say the solution is quite embarrassing but I probably should share what was causing this as someone else might make the same amateur mistake I did and not realize it. Thankfully, the problem was NOT the fault of Skycontroller 2. A day or two before the problem appeared, I connected my cell phone to my laptop. It asked me how I wanted the USB connection to the computer to function as. It gave me 3 options. 1 For simply just charging the phone. 2. To transfer data back and forth from computer to phone. 3. To be able to transfer just picture files I believe. I had pressed option 1 because I just wanted to charge my phone. Little did I realize that this would also cut off all communication with Skycontroller as well, even though I presumed it was just a personal matter between the laptop and my phone at the time. As I found out with a truckload of stress, that it blocks my phone from communicating with Skycontroller 2 as well!!! As soon as I switched it back to option 2 by connecting back up to my laptop, everything was back to normal with Skycontroller and full FPV. I'm back in business! WHEW!! Thanks again! BTW, I've been to Phoenix a few times. I love it there. I live near Salt Lake City, Utah.
Alright! Thank you "Jet" for the update. I have never gone through the options available when that little notice pops up. Now, I will have to take a look at it. That is good information to pass on. I will keep it in mind. I don't know if I mentioned it but I live about 40 miles south of Phoenix. We just moved down here two years ago this August. I have a motor that says motor stage broken error and a red flashing light and I just put a new motor on and it is still doing the same thing reseting would do it help!

Mr Kent, how can I get my Drone like yours to come home? I hit the Home Button, and it changes the screen to the settings. I like your Videos very much! I have learned from them of how I was loading Updates to the Drone to make them update.
Mr Kent, I have done like you said to reset the Drone,and the Home Button works. Now I have trouble of the Video of the Phone loosing signal.If I fly it around the House, does it have anything to do with my Wireless Wi-Fi in the House? I only have 4. to 4.20 megabits Light speed. Going to go Across the the Road into a big Field to fly to get the Remote and Phone away from house. Do you have any suggestions? It seem that I put the signal on 4 g all and it does better.I also get a "RED" Signal on the Screen like its having trouble with Signal. I'm still in learning mode and don't want any mishaps! Before I fly too far!, I make sure "The Home Button" works.
It sounds like you already have it figured out. The further you get away from other wifi signals the better connection you will be able to maintain. I have the same thing with my Bebop 2 here in my neighborhood. I can only go about a block using the SkyController 2 and I lose signal. If I go out into the country I can get up to a mile range. Wifis are nice but they don't work with with interference from other signals. Thanks for your question and God bless.
I would recommend it although I'm not sure it is necessary. Doing a reset insures that no setting have been configured wrong during the upgrade. After I do a reset I turn off the drone, turn it on again and then do a flat trim as well as a calibration. It takes a few minutes but it keeps your Bebop from flying away out of control. I hope that is helpful.
Had a issue with my bebop 2 I gor it from ebay with the sky controller 2 this morning went to connect it to take it for a small flight when i turned the drone on turned right on once I turned the controller on it started smoking and caught fire on the I side not sure of the cause but never thought it would happen

mrkentdotcom I baught the bebop 2 from ebay first drone ive ever baught loved it when it work will be buying another I called ebay and they issued a refund no issues with that witch I was thinking I would have issues with but they were quick and once I sent pictures they didnt even want me to mail the drone back even though it was just the controllee that had the issue Thank you for the video helped alot god bless
Two of the props have small holes in the center. They go on the motors with the extended axles. The other two go on the other motors. Look closely. That is the issue you are probably having. God bless.

Hi Roberto. I'm not sure. You may have a faulty Bebop 2. There are two kinds of motors. One is labeled "A" and the other labeled "C". Are you sure you replaced your motor with the same type? Did you inspect the wire to the motor carefully? I cannot think of any other reason you get that engine error. You can send it in for a replacement if you have had it less than one year. I'm going to do this to see if it fixes my 4.2.0 Firmware issue. Everyone says it can't calibrate and drifts uncontrollably. Did this to me and I quit right away before I lost the drone
Yep. I have heard the stories. I have not upgraded mine yet, but it has been too hot to fly lately. As I may have said in the video, I always reset mine following each upgrade and also do a flat trim and calibration. God bless, and have fun.

I guess you can consider yourself blessed. Many times the x-body gets broken which take a long time to repair. I would suggest uninstalling FreeFlight pro, rebooting your phone/tablet and re-installing FreeFlight Pro. then fly low over grass for 20 minutes or so to do a test. Stay close to the ground. That usually occurs when the props are not on the proper motor. If that is not it you may have a motor error which will show up on your screen display. I am sorry to hear about that and hope you get it fixed. God bless.
mrkentdotcom I fly for 2 days and it fly so perfectly that I was so happy. And then when my phone said “ calibrate before fly” so did that and then my parrot start flipping on land when I press take off.
Wow! That really doesn't make sense. I assume you watched the above video all the way through . . . I would suggest doing it again and then do a "flat trim" which is found in the settings of the app. Make SURE the Bebop is setting on a perfectly level spot before setting "flat trim." By the way, when you press the flat trim it will appear that nothing has occurred but it does. Please do the reset as explained and then do a flat trim. God bless.

I found this. press the power button twice fast then hold on the third click for 10 seconds until the disco performs reset. remove the battery from the sky controller 2 for 20 seconds then reconnect then power both on and they should connect and go green.Jun 26, 2018 www.parrot.com/us/support/products/parrot-skycontroller Other than that, I have never needed to do that and I don't have a real answer for you from my own experience.

There is a set of steps that you need to follow: Connect tablet or phone to skycontroller through usb cable Turn on Bebop 2 - wait 30 seconds turn on skycontroller skycontroller will notify tablet to open up Free Flight Pro You need to click on the "OK" button on the tablet FreeFlight pro will open up. Click on the "Fly and Film" window. Click on "Take Off" If you still have questions please don't hesitate to ask. God bless.

Thanks for your comment. I think all of us would prefer to have the means to buy a DJI. I had a Phantom 1 and it was like a faithful friend - but only flew for about six minutes per battery charge.
I think several of those are when I was just working on something on the bench. I keep my videos in one place on my computer and am finding that I need to get them more organized.
Do a backup on other hard drive. I lost some of the my first Bebop videos due to a malfunctioning hard drive. The hard drive was on vertical position then it falls on the table. After that the hard drive heads sometimes didn't work well doing strange noises. After some months the hard drive start to colapse. In a hurry I tryed to backup as much as I could leaving a lot of videos and photos and more stuff on the damaged hard drive :-(
Yep, I do a lot of backing up. One application I have on my website has over 21,000 clients. I back that one up on a daily basis. I recently downloaded all of my youtube videos (mp4 format) and saved them to a portable hard drive. If UA-cam ever goes down I can still rebuild my channel. Flat trim is at the top of the menu in the flight settings of the Bebop 2. Just make sure your drone is sitting on a level surface and "click" on "Flat trim." You will not see anything happening because it takes just a "moment" to remember what "level" is supposed to be. Boy, I don't know about that. That is kind of a strange case. It has to be related to something physical. If you can, open it up and look at the circuit board for cracks around the socket. Thanks for the comment and God bless.

I was taking some video today and all went well. I was flying with the original big sky controller 1 and the Bebop 3.0
After plugging in the bebop's micro USB to my PC I could not get it to connect to import the video which it has done ok many times before.
After jiggling the usb connection I got it to connect to the pc and download the videos, but on unplugging the micro usb the whole socket came away from the motheboard.
OK I thought .....so now I will have to download any videos/pic via wifi and the FFP app........ no big deal.
So after recharging the batteries off I go to the field but now the Skycontroller wont connect to the drone and all I get is a single red light indicator led on the sky controller showing the bebop connection Normally it goes red and then measured the power of the bebop battery. I also dont have any wi fi indicator led on the left of the skycontroller just a single red led? The sky controller goes through the sequence of tests white LED before it gets to the red LED indicator.
The strange thing is that I can connect and control the bebop with my Tabletphone no problem, just not with the skycontroller
Would a broken micro USB prevent the bebop from communicating with the skycontroller ?
Any help or suggestions wold be appreciated as re-soldering the SMD micro usb is beyond me,
PS tried a Hard Reset on the bebop and that went ok but still no connection to Skycontroller
I have never heard of such a thing. It may be that the micro USB connector is also used as part of another area on the circuit board. They do things like that to save space on the board. I wish I had a good answer for you but I'm sorry, I don't. It is a drone that has a long life -- about five years for mine. God bless you.

The thing that is confusing me is that although the skycontroller cant find the bebop, then how can the bebop be found without any difficulty by my Mobile phone or Tablet ??? The sky controller clearly is sending out some kind of signal as the FFPro app needed me to Calibrate the skycontroller and I was able to do this and it did calibrate ok, so there must be a signal going out and being received by the skycontroller ! The skycontroller is found by the phone/tablet WiFi, but when it connects is says "No Internet Connection" But if I select the Bebop's WiFi then it connects fine and says "unsecured network" Its like the bebop is sending a wifi signal that can be found by the phone, but not a signal that can be found by the sky controller.?

So I think much of this is the FFPro software. Also now the screen display in FFPro is different ! Before when I pressed the "CONNECT" button it would just tell me to connect the WiFi but now when I press "connect" I see a long list of possible wifi connections with the bebop at the top of the list. On selecting that, all the skycontroller connections started working again and I get the skycontroller connected indicator, and a good video signal, plus on the sky controller it now shows the power indicator of both the drone and the skycontroller batteries plus a full strength wifi signal on the left area of the sky controller? Do you have any thoughts or would anyone else like to jump in ? many Thanks PS Yes!.... I did have the latest software on the skycontroller and on the drone with no updates indicated !
Just discovered your video so Im trying the reset .. I took my Bebop2 out the other day after no flights for a very long time .. it now doses this weird thing .. it flies about 20-30ft forward and then(own its own)rises about 10-20ft in the air, spins to the left and then immediately drops back to the initial flight height that I was flying at .. it only does this going forward, all other flight directions are just fine .. even if I let the controller go when it starts to rise, it continues rising and completes the spin before coming back down to the height that I was flying .. any ideas what might causing this? I disconnected the controller and tried flying with just the app and it still does the climb and spin thing .. so that tells me that its not the controller and I also changed out the blades
Hmmm - I'm guessing there has been a firmware update since you last used your Bebop, but not sure. Here is a link to a website explaining how to update to the latest firmware. I am assuming you have done the factory reset.

I haven't flown my Bebop for over a year also as my son gave me a Mavic 2 Zoom so I am not current on the latest info for the Bebop.

I did the reset and took it out and the same issue ... if I fly it slow it goes straight and steady but as soon as I give it the gas, it goes about 20-30ft and do the climb, spend, drop thing

My drone battery drains to 50 percent within a couple seconds would this help.

My drone would not finish the compass calibration so I got a new one and it is doing the same exact thing. Calibration looks normal on first 2 steps but last step will not complete? Ever see this?

Hmmmmm . . . Well, as they say, "Two out of three ain't bad."
But seriously, that is something to be concerned about. I think if I had that issue I would go out to a big park or open field and begin testing close up at first then extend the range while checking Return To Home. If that still works from a larger range it appears you can still fly with assurance that your Bebop will always come back.
That's about all I can come up with. The Mavic I just got only requires two calibration positions - Yaw and roll. And I think those are the first two procedures in calibrating the Bebop. I hope all goes well for you and God bless.

@@AIRVLife I had the same problem today with my parrot bebop 2 power.I stumbled across this video and tried the reset and with no luck I kept getting the calibration error message after the final calibration. So I started thinking about how I did a firmware update a few days ago. I did some more digging and decided to downgrade the firmware and used this video ua-cam.com/video/mSMJF7Y-E6I/v-deo.html after doing this I was able to get a successful calibration!!! It is very windy in Indiana today and am debating on taking it out in the 30MPH wind gusts. I hope this helps, I did not do the factory reset again as I don't want to run into the calibration issue again. Maybe if I have a hard crash I will. Hope this helps and have a great day!!!
Hi..my power edition hit a tree limb and fell about 20ft. I'm pretty familiar with these things.Now it wont connect to the Sky Controller. When I attempt to reset the drone (turn it on and wait for the light to stay on) the light just keeps blinking. I held the button for 15seconds but that didnt help. Suggestions??

I just got in from a flight with bebop and a crash just before touchdown ....hit the ground and slided then took off again and I had no control for a few seconds then came down into the woods about 10 ft away; what do you think?

Wow, that is strange. Are you sure you didn't accidentally touch a control in the excitement of the crash? Why else would it take off again? The firmware and software aren't generally affected by a crash.
Also, if your are referring to the Flight Data Manager I think it had some issues over the past week or so. I re-installed FreeFlight Pro recently to get it to work correctly. As the song goes in Toy Story, "Strange things are happening to me."

Mr. Kent: When you uninstall FreeFlight Pro, you will lose all of your saved flight plans if you have purchased the FlightPlan program from the App store. How can you save these to another device and then transfer back onto the newly installed FreeFlight Pro app?
Also, if you uninstall/reinstall FreeFlight Pro, will you still have the Flight Plan app previously purchased?

Thank you Carole for your questions. It has been too long for me to recall the correct answers. I don't think you will affect the Flight Plan app by uninstalling and reinstalling the main app. All of the flight data is stored in the drone except for the videos. I hope that is helpful. God bless.

When I initially turn it on it won't stop flashing... it had a fall and a motor broke which I replaced. The light doesn't stop flashing, the fan comes on briefly as soon a I turn it on but then it goes away too.

my Parrot Bebop 2 Drone. propellers push down at the front and up at the back there is only one way my propellers will fit, it try's to flip itself over backwards or tries to if I hold it

I ABSOLOUTLY cannot get mine to calibrate. I've owned 3 of them and an very familiar with where I need to be with the drone while doing it I mean I don't even wear a belt . Hi Jonny. I really don't have an answer. If you have tried and tried and it still down't work it has to be something wrong with the drone itself. Each of the front legs should have a small round coaxial cable running along-side the flat cable that feeds the motor. One of the front legs holds the sensor for that but I can't recall which one it is. If you just received it and can't get it to work I would suggest returning it for a replacement. I had a smooth crash and my bebop 2 crashed into a curtain. I wasn't really a crash but my drone started beeping and motor error on my smart phone appeared. However, now when I turn it on it does not show any problems on the app if drone's motors got damaged. So, what do you think?
Hello Aramik. You are probably OK. It would be a good idea to do a factory reset and always reboot your phone before you fly. Just start out by flying close by and at very low altitudes to check out how everything works. Thanks for the input and God bless.
Quick question maybe you can help or maybe it’s nothing when looking at my app the gps symbol next to the controller stays white but the gps symbol next to the bebop turns green? Am I doing something wrong?
I'm not 100% sure about that. It means your controller is not picking up a GPS signal. It may be that you have airplane mode ON which prevents you tablet or phone from receiving that signal. I haven't flown my Bebop 2 for a while so I really can't be of much help on that. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Jello is generally caused by props that are out of balance. Check them closely and replace any that have nicks or dents. In the process of changing motors it is also possible that you may have one that is not completely seated. Other than that I can't think of anything else. God bless.
I've just reset my bebop 2 and now it won't take off anymore all the Motors spin very fast for about 5 seconds then stop, both GPS signals are on for Bebop hand controller 2, I can see what the drone can see, I can also the video it's taking, when I press take off the motors just spin for about 5 seconds and stop, I did take it apart and put it all back together exactly as shown

Thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a question about the sky controller 2 connected with my galaxy note 4 via USB. Every single time I connect the phone and sc2, it connects and then disconnects and it's a constant loop. Any ideas? Everything is updated on the sc2 and I'm running Android marshmallow on my phone.
Sorry about getting back to you so late. Are you saying the FreeFlight Pro stops working once you start it? The first thing I would suggest is to re-boot your phone before starting. Also you may want to uninstall FreeFlight Pro and re-install it after re-booting your phone. That's about all I can think of right now. I hope you get it figured out. When I turn on free flight pro I connect the sc2 and phone to the app. It connects fine but after a few seconds it loses connection. I've tried different USB cables and two different phones and it connects, shows a video feed, but after a few seconds it disconnects and reconnects in a constant loop.
What can I do if my bebop 2 wont power on at all.

@@user-sr8pn9xg8z I got it used ,but it is in perfect condition and I had 15 successful flights in the past 2 days and on my last flight it took off and rose about 6 inches off the ground and immediately landed and wont turn back on ...even after holding in the power button.
I'm not sur how good Parrot is about fixing products but I did send an email to them explaining everything and they said they would get back with me...I'm gonna call tomorrow but i hate to think that i would have to go through the grueling process of shipping and waiting...just off of a hunch...seems like it may be the motherboard.

Hi again Paul. I see a problem here: The phone and controller are to be connected by the usb cable only when using the skycontroller. Have you been doing it that way? Be sure to connect the usb cable before doing anything else. Then start the Bebop, wait 30 seconds or so and start the skycontroller. When its light turns green open the FreeFlight Pro app. That always works for me. God bless.
Yes I have always used a usb cable, I'm maybe thinking it could be the usb accessorie I'm using, it shows on my phone that it's charging when hooked up to sky controller, so I've assumed that it's ok, will have to check agsin with other cable just incase,thanks again
Yep, the "charging" issue shouldn't affect anything. The android phone battery has a lower voltage rating than that in the controller. The Apple devices have a higher voltage than the controller so there is no problem with them. God bless.

Couple of questions: Are you using FreeFlight Pro? and, did you uninstall it and then re-install it? And, finally, if you did re-install it did you NOT turn it on until the Bebop 2 and Skycontroller 2 were both turned on. Those are important steps if doing a "factory" reset.

This method will keep your tablet from connecting with your Bebop 2. Just make sure the USB cable is connected to your tablet before you begin.
Step 1: connect the USB cable.
Step 2: start your Bebop 2
Step 3: When Skycontroller needs FreeFlight Pro it will either bring it up or (if you have more than one ap) it will show you a selection.
But watch the video. It is only seven minutes or so long.

One problem with Uninstaller and reinstalling the free flight pro ap it doesn't reinstall the flight plan or ow me functions .you have to re PURCHASE those again .I have 3 beebops and 3 devices . A Samsung phone .an apple phone and a Samsung tablet .I've had to repurchase the flight plan twice on each of them .same user name and password on each for my parrot

Thanks for your question Saad. Make sure you reboot your phone before every flight. Go into settings and make sure "Return To Home" is set to ten seconds or less. How are you getting it back down to the ground if you cannot reconnect to it? God bless.

Thanks so much, does that telemetry display on your smart device in real time or only when making a video. Last question, I see online some folks have added antennas for longer range. I am not much of an electronics wiz, is there any ready to use extender available?
Answer #1: No the telemetry data is only displayed on the final cut.
Answer #2: The larger antennas came with the Bebop 1, allowing users to switch between 2.4 and 5 GHZ. If you are using the Bebop 2 with the Skycontroller 2 you only have 2.4 ghz available.
I have seen an after market extender from FPVLR, not sure if anyone knows anything about it?

MrKent, 4 days ago, My Skycontroller 2 stopped connecting/talking to my smart phone. I didn't drop, bump or damage either device. It just stopped connecting for no reason. I'm stumped. I've had over 50 flights using the FPV before this happened and I'm following the same connection process as always.. I tried using another USB cord, uninstalled Freeflight Pro from my phone and installed the latest version but NOTHING I've done has fixed the problem! It still says no controller connected. I can still fly the Bebop from my phone via Bebops wifi, or straight from the Skycontroller but with line-of-sight only. FPV of course does not work. Do you know if there is a reset procedure or hard reboot specifically for the Skycontroller 2? I have been in touch with Parrot customer service and sadly, they can't help me. I asked to speak with the engineers and designers of the Skycontroller/Bebop 2, and have had zero success with that. Any help/knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have seen this before. Every time is is the result of a broken connection inside the skycontroller's usb port. It is fixable if you are good at soldering. There is a video you may want to watch which is how to make that repair:

It is possible, or you can do like a friend of mine and take it to someone with the right soldering tools like a ham radio operator. I don't know of any other reason for this to be happening. I know - not good news. God bless.
MrKent, Thanks again for your willingness to guide and assist. I finally got the issue resolved! I'm VERY happy! And I must say the solution is quite embarrassing but I probably should share what was causing this as someone else might make the same amateur mistake I did and not realize it. Thankfully, the problem was NOT the fault of Skycontroller 2. A day or two before the problem appeared, I connected my cell phone to my laptop. It asked me how I wanted the USB connection to the computer to function as. It gave me 3 options. 1 For simply just charging the phone. 2. To transfer data back and forth from computer to phone. 3. To be able to transfer just picture files I believe. I had pressed option 1 because I just wanted to charge my phone. Little did I realize that this would also cut off all communication with Skycontroller as well, even though I presumed it was just a personal matter between the laptop and my phone at the time. As I found out with a truckload of stress, that it blocks my phone from communicating with Skycontroller 2 as well!!! As soon as I switched it back to option 2 by connecting back up to my laptop, everything was back to normal with Skycontroller and full FPV. I'm back in business! WHEW!! Thanks again! BTW, I've been to Phoenix a few times. I love it there. I live near Salt Lake City, Utah.
Alright! Thank you "Jet" for the update. I have never gone through the options available when that little notice pops up. Now, I will have to take a look at it. That is good information to pass on. I will keep it in mind. I don't know if I mentioned it but I live about 40 miles south of Phoenix. We just moved down here two years ago this August. I have a motor that says motor stage broken error and a red flashing light and I just put a new motor on and it is still doing the same thing reseting would do it help!

Mr Kent, I have done like you said to reset the Drone,and the Home Button works. Now I have trouble of the Video of the Phone loosing signal.If I fly it around the House, does it have anything to do with my Wireless Wi-Fi in the House? I only have 4. to 4.20 megabits Light speed. Going to go Across the the Road into a big Field to fly to get the Remote and Phone away from house. Do you have any suggestions? It seem that I put the signal on 4 g all and it does better.I also get a "RED" Signal on the Screen like its having trouble with Signal. I'm still in learning mode and don't want any mishaps! Before I fly too far!, I make sure "The Home Button" works.
It sounds like you already have it figured out. The further you get away from other wifi signals the better connection you will be able to maintain. I have the same thing with my Bebop 2 here in my neighborhood. I can only go about a block using the SkyController 2 and I lose signal. If I go out into the country I can get up to a mile range. Wifis are nice but they don't work with with interference from other signals. Thanks for your question and God bless.
Hey Mr Kent. Quick question, do I need to do a reset after every update?
I would recommend it although I'm not sure it is necessary. Doing a reset insures that no setting have been configured wrong during the upgrade. After I do a reset I turn off the drone, turn it on again and then do a flat trim as well as a calibration. It takes a few minutes but it keeps your Bebop from flying away out of control. I hope that is helpful.
Had a issue with my bebop 2 I gor it from ebay with the sky controller 2 this morning went to connect it to take it for a small flight when i turned the drone on turned right on once I turned the controller on it started smoking and caught fire on the I side not sure of the cause but never thought it would happen

FYI - I always recommend buying Parrot products directly from them. I had a bad experience with the first Bebop 2 Power when I ordered it from Amazon - It was used and all scratched.

I baught the bebop 2 from ebay first drone ive ever baught loved it when it work will be buying another I called ebay and they issued a refund no issues with that witch I was thinking I would have issues with but they were quick and once I sent pictures they didnt even want me to mail the drone back even though it was just the controllee that had the issue

My bebop won't take ok..just flips over..looked closely on take off and front left prop is rotating wrong way....
Two of the props have small holes in the center. They go on the motors with the extended axles. The other two go on the other motors. Look closely. That is the issue you are probably having. God bless.

Hi Roberto. I'm not sure. You may have a faulty Bebop 2. There are two kinds of motors. One is labeled "A" and the other labeled "C". Are you sure you replaced your motor with the same type? Did you inspect the wire to the motor carefully?
I cannot think of any other reason you get that engine error. You can send it in for a replacement if you have had it less than one year. I hope you find a solution. God bless.

I'm going to do this to see if it fixes my 4.2.0 Firmware issue. Everyone says it can't calibrate and drifts uncontrollably. Did this to me and I quit right away before I lost the drone
Yep. I have heard the stories. I have not upgraded mine yet, but it has been too hot to fly lately. As I may have said in the video, I always reset mine following each upgrade and also do a flat trim and calibration. God bless, and have fun.

The back of the battery cracked.
I guess you can consider yourself blessed. Many times the x-body gets broken which take a long time to repair. I would suggest uninstalling FreeFlight pro, rebooting your phone/tablet and re-installing FreeFlight Pro. then fly low over grass for 20 minutes or so to do a test. Stay close to the ground. I am hoping that may help. God bless.

By Bebop2 flip over on group when I press Take off.
That usually occurs when the props are not on the proper motor. If that is not it you may have a motor error which will show up on your screen display. I am sorry to hear about that and hope you get it fixed. God bless.

Wow! That really doesn't make sense. I assume you watched the above video all the way through . . .
I would suggest doing it again and then do a "flat trim" which is found in the settings of the app. Make SURE the Bebop is setting on a perfectly level spot before setting "flat trim." By the way, when you press the flat trim it will appear that nothing has occurred but it does. Please do the reset as explained and then do a flat trim. God bless.

There is a set of steps that you need to follow:
Connect tablet or phone to skycontroller through usb cable
Turn on Bebop 2 - wait 30 seconds
turn on skycontroller
skycontroller will notify tablet to open up Free Flight Pro
You need to click on the "OK" button on the tablet
FreeFlight pro will open up.
Click on the "Fly and Film" window.
Click on "Take Off"

Thanks for your comment. I think all of us would prefer to have the means to buy a DJI. I had a Phantom 1 and it was like a faithful friend - but only flew for about six minutes per battery charge.
After many issues with my bebop 2 power, I purchases a dji Spark. Couldn’t be happier with it. Amazing quality and superior product.
You have 56 flights. I am seeing your flights on the map on the FlighData Manager.
I think several of those are when I was just working on something on the bench. I keep my videos in one place on my computer and am finding that I need to get them more organized.
Do a backup on other hard drive. I lost some of the my first Bebop videos due to a malfunctioning hard drive. The hard drive was on vertical position then it falls on the table. After that the hard drive heads sometimes didn't work well doing strange noises. After some months the hard drive start to colapse. In a hurry I tryed to backup as much as I could leaving a lot of videos and photos and more stuff on the damaged hard drive :-(
Yep, I do a lot of backing up. One application I have on my website has over 21,000 clients. I back that one up on a daily basis. I recently downloaded all of my youtube videos (mp4 format) and saved them to a portable hard drive. If UA-cam ever goes down I can still rebuild my channel. Hi how do I do flat trim
Flat trim is at the top of the menu in the flight settings of the Bebop 2. Just make sure your drone is sitting on a level surface and "click" on "Flat trim." You will not see anything happening because it takes just a "moment" to remember what "level" is supposed to be. Let me know if you have any other questions about that, I'm not sure I have it described in any of my other videos. God bless.
