The Iron Hands heads also works with this legion. And the 2016 Warhammer Fest exclusive Cataphractii Praetor is perfect for IW. Its a shame that they dont have one.
Yeah, when I built my IW I used a set of the old IH heads interspersed among the IW ones and they fit perfectly on the battle line. Just holding out for some characters now to go with my converted warsmith.
My personal favorite legion. I really wish we had more stuff in plastic, but for now I’m happy enough to just print or proxy. GW needs to do more to get more of my money though.
Great video as always, definitely agree with you on Perty's base, trying to fit that thing together can be like a jigsaw at times and he's definitely out of place being so high up. I disagree with you on the Tyrants though. I think their minimalist style of iconography perfectly fits the legion's personality. Yes, they are the elite siegebreakers of the legion, but at the end of the day they're still just a cog in Perturabo's warmachine. They have enough style to stand out from your regular cataphractii but they're not overboard on decor like the Knight's Cenobium where they look a world apart from the regular line termies. Really now I'm just holding out for some characters when they finally remember we exist. Seeing Forrix, Dantioch, Barban Falk or Kroeger on the tabletop would do a lot to shore up the range alongside some generic praetors. Looking forward to seeing you discuss the rest of the Heresy ranges.

@@thecraftmasque If I had to hazard a guess, it's because GW's gone fully corporate and can only see factions a certain way, crushing anything that doesn't conform to that ideal image. So Space Marines are all primaris and CSM are all Black Legion with daemon engines and a pseudo-renegade feel.
I always took the perturabo sculpt to be an homage to David Lynch Dune movie’s Harkonnen. Bloated and mean looking. Aside from the height, I love purty’s model.
My opinion - IW MK2 Helmets way better than the MK6 IW Dreadnought better than the generic one overall I like how rough it looks with added plates and bolts Siege Tyrants, sure they look simple in design nothing majorly different from Cataprachtii although some of them have bionic arm and leg also cables in their torso and the helmets are nice Iron circle amazing probably one of the best looking legion specific unit out there Peurturabo is probs best looking primarch(although I'm not fan of the base) Totally not based since this is my favourite legion and the fact that I own all of these 😂 Iron hands bits are great for bionic parts! Iron father great for a IW praetor kitbash

Man i think your off on the dread. I think its perfect, one of the best. Everything you said about it, i feel the opposite about lool. I think the extra "ramshackle" armour is perfectly IW, they are re inforcing areas that house key components, without really giving a shit cause hes gonna die most likely anyways, they just want too get him too where hes supposed too be and let him survive for 8 minutes.. Id say its all personal taste. But id say the armour placement IS practical, and ramshackle IS iw especially mid war and onwards.

Thankfully my Chinese friend of choice always seems to have almost all of the heresy special characters, it's verrrryyyy useful as someone who only really got into the hobby at the end of 2018, and especially as someone from Australia

I seem to remember them being taller than a marine, but not twice the height of the Primarch, I also remember them having jump jets that allow them to jump into that Imperial Fists fortress, as well as a half dozen of them riding inside the Tormentor with Perturabo. The description and look correlate, but SCALE does not.
@@TheOuterCircle I'm not sure it's ever mentioned explicitly how big they are, at least in Angel Exterminatus. There are some descriptions of their shields covering up both Fulgrim and Perturabo along with a general feel of them being big

But That doesn't mean Contemptor big, especially in the context of that same book having them ride in a tank which is physically half the height of the sculpts. Even then, how do they, Perturabo and a few other characters all squeeze in? That's one big Tormentor!

The only think i don't like about the Domitar is the long hammer which is soo easy to brake. Apart from that I prefer to use them as Contemprot proxy with Graviton maul. I really like the Tyrants because they fit the way I imagine IW, with their kind of generic look. I agree they look a bit low effort, but in this case, for me it's not a issue. When it comes to Narik Dreygur I got him from ChinaForge before plastic Heresy was a thing (in times I would not be able to afford a Heresy army from FW), and he probably would fit in my top 10 Heresy Models easily. I was going to paint him as a Chaos lord or something, but then HH 2.0 happened. And yes, the tactical demolished knight is absurd.
I also never noticed Nariks right should pad has that unusual styling! And I also never noticed he has a scope on the outside of his bolt pistol! I do agree however, that he is an excellent model.
Honestly getting a Forrix sculpt would be a dream come true, he's always been my favourite Iron Warrior and it was one of the old artworks of him that made me pick them over Alpha Legion.
Hate the new helmets utter utter rubbish. I don't mind the dread. The terminators are ok but not huge on them Don't love them thats for sure. The models I have for them are your old ones an they look far better. I have some great stls for my next batch of them now. Iron circle is love I really do. My favourite iron warriors item but yeah have to say they aren't what I had in my head for models of them. That techmarine is sick hes the base of many many many of my models Narik is so bloody nice. One of my favourite character models I dont actually like the perty model due to the pose. It's so sub par for what they could do. One of the best primarchs yet such a miss on the model.
One point i think is important is just how SHORT this range review is, despite Iron Warriors being SO popular. It's bizarre

That CSM are the number 2 most popular faction in the entire hobby and yet their range is so neglected is truly baffling to me.

Makes no sense. Chaos should be using 30k tech in 40k so we should have chaos breachers, chaos volkite etc etc

Wait the Siege Tyrants aren't an upgrade kit to the plastic ones?
Nope. Full resin. Usually with bad moldslip on the legs which FW calls "within reason".

The Skull helmets from the new set look like a shoddy Chinese nock off version from the early 2000's.
I think you missed the biggest problem with the Siege Tyrants. They are smaller than other termies. And once you see it, you can't unsee it.
