Thanks bro I appreciate it! Yeah that shop really tested my patience lol. I know you know the story already but I’ll explain it all in the next video 😂
Yeah! you should do US slot mags on the 2nd gen also. With 15x10 on back and 15x8 in front. With P295 on back and 235 on front. Or you could put P275/60 on the back with 15x10 and it would be slightly taller and slightly narrower but can't hardly tell. The P275 will fit with 5" back space i think. the P295 with 5.25" back spacing.
Thanks Rick glad you like them! Unfortunately the mastecraft tires are made in Mexico.. but they still look great! Just wish they were made here lol.. the old Mickey Thomason’s that were on it were made in USA. However I do have cooper discoverers on the Dakota and they’re made in USA! Thanks for watching!
Well my 3rd gen went to the rebuild now so its expected to be completed by the end of April. So in May I will be getting a 1969 dodge dart 4 door 318 v8 will drop you some photos on dm. My dart is original white oh yeah sweet wheels man !
Looks fantastic! I’m running a similar setup myself, do you use extended shackles with air shocks, and have any issues with your springs, or are the springs reinforced?
Thanks! And actually I haven’t done any suspension work to the car, I bought it as is. But as far as I know there’s no extended shackles and i don’t believe anything is reinforced. The springs are good for a car with almost 50 year old suspension lol! Thanks for watching!
Can you drop a link to the video where you discuss the wheels and what went wrong when the tire shop had to re-order everything? I’m actually going with slots in mine as well and I want to get it right, thanks!
You can roll the inner fender lip on the rear fenders without changing the look of the outside and then you don't have to worry about cutting the sidewall of your tires. 15x8 standard offset not deep dish with a 275/60/15. Less then a quarter of an inch narrower and a little taller. With the standard offset 15x8 you fill up the wheel well and don't worry about damaging tire or body and you can say goodbye to the air shocks. Rides better, handles better and in case of racing gets better traction.
I was thinking of rolling the rear fender lip here soon, and eventually looking to upgrade / replace the air shocks with a new or different setup. I’m currently restoring the ‘79 camaro on my channel and my grandpaps ‘78 F250 so I haven’t been working much on the Plymouth. It’s in need of some body work and paint here in the future but I’m just enjoying it as-is for now! I appreciate the support and comment! Thanks for watching!
With some adjustment they can be tucked up inside a bit. But I love the old school 70s look, that’s the style I was going for! I appreciate the support and thanks for watching! 😎
You can find the manufacture date of the tire. Tires all have the date of manufacture, if you google mickey thompson manufacture date, I’m certain you can determine the date based on some code or stamping mark. I know you replaced them but it would be cool info to know.
Kind of ironic they’re called “US Mags” but made in China.. 🙄 I would’ve paid more for American made ones but couldn’t find any in my size and was on a budget at the time. Oh well, Atleast they look good lol.. Thanks for watching!
Great channel, just subscribed and can't wait to see more about your beautiful ride. My opinion on the wheels is that I like both of them but you did the responsible thing and replaced the old damaged tires, unfortunately they don't make the size you where looking for anymore but the 15s look amazing and the average person will never be able to tell the difference in size all anyone is going to notice are those new awesome looking wheels, again great channel and I am looking forward to more of your car 🚗 Also, yes I agree , Make It in America 🇺🇸.
Welcome to the Crew Jeff 🤝 glad you enjoyed the video and like the car! I appreciate the support and kind comment! I’ll be for sure making more videos on it soon! Feel free to check out our other videos if you haven’t already! Thanks for watching!
It’s such a shame they’re discontinuing those larger tire sizes. I actually considered getting that size you mentioned but I needed a bigger overall diameter.. I heard some 15” sizes are even getting hard to find now! Thanks for watching!
If I could find tires for the 14s I definitely would’ve kept them on the car 🥲 I really didn’t want to upsize but gotta do what you gotta do.. thanks for watching.
I decided not to do the 10 lug conversion on my Dodge truck and trade for the parts and labor for the engine rebuild but I think I'm going to do a level lift on the front
Im not too sure if your near the parkway west auto tech place but to get tires mounted and balanced cost next to nothing to get done. I've never had to get my tires done so I don't know that actual price. But it's very affordable. Always have my car on their when I'm bored and something needs fixed.
Appreciate the recommendation, I’ll keep that in mind. I went to the steel city wheelhouse imperial location and they did an awesome job. They mount some super expensive wheels too so they know their stuff and were very careful when handling my new wheels. They only charged me $30 to mount and balance both, and for two valve stems, which wasn’t terrible imo.
you will find out that the ride quality is much better with the 15 inch rims and tires I've had a lot of 60s and 70s Mopars and I put 15s on every one of them !!!!!
Nice to see another old school mopar enthusiast here on the channel! Can’t wait for the nice weather and get some miles logged on the new setup! Thanks for watching!
Yeah I agree, I have to refill them every once in awhile. Could also possibly be a faulty rubber o-ring.. that’s on my todo list! Don’t want those slices on my brand new tires lol Thanks for watching!
I know I'm going to upgrade my rims I hate factory rims on most everything even though my Expedition has 2014 F150 rims and it is a 2004 it was an upgrade for sure
Well said buddy. We should definitely be making our own products. They look great makes it look really tough. Great job.
Absolutely 🇺🇸 no reason why they can’t be made here! Thanks for the support and for watching!
Great video! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate the support as always 😎🔥💪🏻
Great car, I bought a brand new one in 1973! Fire engine red with white interior. Bought it in 12th grade for 3,200$ in Detroit Michigan.
I love the car. I had one when I was in high school back in 87 it was pretty blue with blue interior
Sounds like an awesome car you had! Nothing beats the old school mopars! Thanks for watching!
Have loved that wheel since seeing Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry as a kid and they look best on Mopars, cool car brother.
Thanks for the kind comment James! 😎 And I’d have to agree! Can’t go wrong with the slotted mags! Thanks for watching!
They look awesome
Thanks man! Glad you like them! 😎💪🏻🔥
See now ima about to buy one of these, fix it up and ride. Car club anyone? Lol
Heck yeah man! I’m in 😎 gotta love old school muscle! thanks for watching!
Love the look of these dude!! Shame about the tire shop dude, turned out great though! Can’t wait to see it in person!
Thanks bro I appreciate it! Yeah that shop really tested my patience lol. I know you know the story already but I’ll explain it all in the next video 😂
Looks awesome brother! Great choice! Made in the USA should be on a box if the company calls themselves US for sure
Glad you like it! And I knew a lot of y’all would agree for sure 🇺🇸 thanks for the support and for watching!
Road Runner, if he catch's you your thru! BEEP BEEP!
Nice touch
Glad you think so! I agree 😎🔥💪🏻 thanks for watching!

That would look pretty cool.. we’ll have to weigh our options and see, maybe someday lol! Thanks for watching!
Looks awesome 😎 those and ss cragars are my two favorite rims😊
Thanks John glad you like them 😎 I appreciate the support!
Looks awesome!! Very nice combo! I think the Mastercraft tires are made by Cooper tires in good ole USA.
Your US Slotted Mags and Mastercraft tires are smoking HOT HOT HOT🔥🔥🔥
SOME BIG OLE MEATS
Some wide bois 🥩

Personally, I believe tucking the wheel inside the wheel well would look better. The jacked-up look went out in the 70s. Sweet ride though. 😊

Beautiful China Mags

I know your pain. I have a 14x10 on my 84 grand prix. And with a bead blaster can manage to get a 245/60/14 from big mounted
It’s such a shame they’re discontinuing those larger tire sizes. I actually considered getting that size you mentioned but I needed a bigger overall diameter.. I heard some 15” sizes are even getting hard to find now! Thanks for watching!

@@thekehmcrew ok try discount tire 🤔 they might help get tires you need
hi ..
what is the maximum backspace if you have any idea??
thanks..
My backspacing is 3.5” Atleast that’s what the wheel is listed to have.. hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
@@thekehmcrew thanks so much 🙏
I decided not to do the 10 lug conversion on my Dodge truck and trade for the parts and labor for the engine rebuild but I think I'm going to do a level lift on the front
Hey nothing wrong with going that route lol
Im not too sure if your near the parkway west auto tech place but to get tires mounted and balanced cost next to nothing to get done. @@thekehmcrew that ain’t bad at all. Keep up the good work!
Had a daytona yellow roadrunner like yours
Just like daisy’s on dukes of hazzard! Love that color! I think an AAR cuda looks amazing in that color! Thanks for watching!
Where do buy the wheels
I got the wheels from Summit Racing. They have several sizes available and I got the tires from eBay! Thanks for watching!
you will find out that the ride quality is much better with the 15 inch rims and tires I've had a lot of 60s and 70s Mopars and I put 15s on every one of them !!!!!

The air shocks need to be replaced or the valve does because they will lose air eventually
Yeah I agree, I have to refill them every once in awhile. Could also possibly be a faulty rubber o-ring.. that’s on my todo list! Don’t want those slices on my brand new tires lol Thanks for watching!
Had same 14 inch on my 69 roadrunner and had to upgrade to a 15 inch for exact same issues..kinda funny….nice bird..
Wish these tire manufacturers wouldn’t stop producing stuff.. it’s kind of an inconvenience. But thanks for the comment and Thanks for watching!
I know I'm going to upgrade my rims I hate factory rims on most everything even though my Expedition has 2014 F150 rims and it is a 2004 it was an upgrade for sure
New wheels can definitely make a car / truck stand out and look different
Agree! We should be making our own stuff. Why we are supporting someone else’s economy is beyond me
You know it! I’d be more than willing to spend a bit more too knowing it was made here at home 🇺🇸
who is the hottie @ 5:53
Btw I got the dart for 1K
Got that for a heck of a deal!
1969 dodge dart custom 4 door 318 v8
295 50 15 same size I had on my 86 Buick regal
I bet that looked pretty cool on the Buick! It’s a good size tire for these older cars!
Do you know that's how Paul Walker died in his Ferrari by driving with old tires
