  • Putting the rear back together in this one. Went smoothly on most of it, but the bushings had many issues. watch along to see if this could be helpful to you and your builds

I can’t believe there aren’t any comments on this video man. It’s a damn good in depth video 👍🏼. I need to do all this on my 05 GTO. Like you said though I’ll steer clear of that energy suspension kit lol. Right now I’m in the process of installing LS3 heads and intake and Texas speed stage 3 cam kit. Already installed long tube headers with a cat less 3 inch exhaust with x pipe. Through dual magnaflows. and a one piece drive shaft and a dyno tune. Currently I’m putting 350hp and 365 tq to the ground. I’m hoping after the ls3 top end and cam kit with another tune I’ll be able to be up around 425or more hp and 450tq. I love these cars and I appreciate anyone else that does too. But man I had to like and comment on this. 👍🏼 btw. How did the coil overs work out ? How much difference do they make vs stock ? As well the sub frame stuff. Did it help with wheel hop ? Does it help with the ass end kicking out from around on a wot take off ?

Thanks for watching, commenting and liking! Sounds like you'll have a nice set up. Should be pretty loud too! The coilovers are awesome! But since the install of the subframe connectors, my brake master cylinder crapped out. So I only got it around the block. You can tell the difference. Plus you have a great jacking point that's easy to hit. As far as the energy suspension kit goes, I don't know if I got a bad kit or something. The cradle bushings were too big and I had no clue how to get the sway bar endlink bushings in. Everything else I got on was helpful to the ride feel. Maybe order bushings individually. With the WOT, haven't gotten to really get on it. I have old summer tires with no grip, but the spohn toe rods, Hotchkiss sway bars, new bushings and coilovers should lock it down better. Once it's road worthy, it's getting new tires, alignment, tune and dyno. So until then, it's only speculation on my end what it should do. I'll have a video with my honest opinion of everything done to the car

@@Billy_Ray_Garage yes sir 👍🏼. Oh ok I see. Yeah it’s a process for sure. I was wondering about that subframe stuff you did as far as keeping the car straight on takeoff. I’m assuming stiffening up that frame should help with keeping it straighter. I’m making 350 hp and 365 tq to the ground and mine want to kick to the side on take off. I did put some nitto 255/45s on the back and that helped so much with traction but it still wants to kick out lol. I’m definitely doing the coilovers and bushings at least. After I get the heads and intake and cam and tune it will make a lot more power. The cam is where I’m stuck at right now but I do have a performance shop helping me out. I’ve done nothing lately but watch all the gto videos I can come across. That’s where I saw your videos. I’m looking forward to seeing your car and what it’s gonna do after you’re done with it. I should have mine done here in a few weeks. I’ll let you know what it dynos at 👍🏼. Keep it up. Keep us updated !

@@alphasaiyan5760 I couldn't get a good test drive with the subframe connectors. My brake master cylinder crapped out and I'm still looking for one haha. I know my car never pulled like you described. I have heard the rear cradle has come misaligned from the factory. Or maybe an alignment with the toe rods could help?

@@Billy_Ray_Garage thanks for the input. I’m gonna have the shop check that misalignment thing out for sure.

Good video. The only thing I might suggest is you should loosely tighten control arm bolts until your weight on wheels, then fully torque the bolts. This will add longevity to the bushing by it not being stressed and cracking prematurely.

Man that cradle bushing took me 2 days to install one side..
That bolt hole wont align and i just read a thread about the alignment tool, yup, after i stripped the big bolt threads and now the only thing i could do is install the plate without the big center bolt, definitely not a good thing but ill try my luck till i get it fixed

Oh boy! See if you can find that bolt at a junk yard. Or get a thread chaser and try to salvage it. Not sure about the thread pitch. Don't think I'd trust those 3 little bolts to hold it in place

@@Billy_Ray_Garage thanks, yeah i did get 2 bolts from the junkyard just in case, the passenger side seems easier to align that the driver side oddly enough, so I’m gonna bolt up the passenger side and hopefully it’s gonna be smooth.

@@Ray-tt6tn try cleaning the threads on both the hole threads and the bolt. On mine, they used some type of loctite. That could be holding it up too.

@@Billy_Ray_Garage quick update, i did the passenger side.. it was a big headache but much better than the driver side, installed the big center bolt first then the smaller 3 gave me a hard time cause they weren’t aligning well i cross threaded the inner one but hey i got it all in now!
Now i just have to go back to the driver side :) definitely not having fun with this project lol.

@@Ray-tt6tnthat whole cradle is a headache haha. Did you use an alignment tool? I've read it has come misaligned from the factory on some of the cars.
