Constructed of 1000D Dupont Corudra, the Kriega R8 and R3 waistpacks are built to add lightweight, convenient, and highly durable carrying capacity to any ride. With the R8 and the R3 riders get 8 litre and 3 litre capacities respectively, with the R8 waistpack coming with removable tool roll. Kriega waistpacks are all about allowing riders to get more out of the ride by taking more along for the journey.

Just to add, on the R8 the smaller side roll top bag is removable.

Love my R8, as in previous comment, the small pocket is removable...... I still don't know what the 2 small loop slides are for above the buckles.....

Anil Löeb he’s not talking about the waist adjuster, but the plastic rings on the two closure straps. I’ve wondered about those as well. I’m guessing they’re for strapping something externally to the bag.

does the r3 have clip for keys in the front pocket like the r8 does?

    does r3 fit a 0.5 water bottle?

It depends on the size of the water bottle. The R3 dimensions are 150(H) x 250(W) x 80mm(D). -DrewZilla

Was just about to buy the R8 but not having both compartments waterproof is a real joke. Fail at that Price.

Different market. The fact that they put a tool roll in it tells everything. I own both R30 and the sling pro. While the sling is a sling, it's not really a quick access bag. But great quality, and I loves R30 for long ride. I just put my quick access electronics in a small dry bag and put it inside the outer pocket. Still water rarely go into the outside pocket - as per what this guy said for R8. That if you really need a peace of mind.
But if you look at their marketing (which focus on the fact that tool roll is provided and fit)- you knew exactly their target. and also some of the other bags. it really not for everyone ( or every purpose).
