Monica is R&b royalty fr! She’s criminally underrated and I will understand why! Baby girl got some joints under her belt! You can’t mention R&b without mentioning her name! Hell you can’t attend a black wedding without hearing “Angel of mine” or “for you I will”. lol she definitely deserves her flowers! I met Monica at an album signing for After The Storm back in 2003. I was in High School.
To this day, she is one of the most beautiful, sweetest and down to earth celebrities I've ever met. She is a legend.

I was 9 when that came out
I missed meeting her at a club in NYC around 2005/6 when I left with a boy 🙄 and my friends all met her and said she was amazingly beautiful inside and outside. And she was MY favourite! I've always unapologetically loved both her and Brandy and I've lost out on meeting both due to my leaving early 😤. But at least with Brandy it was because I needed to study.

Yeah. Back then tattoos weren't as popular as they are now especially for girls. So they wanted Monica to keep a certain image so they had her cover it up so as to not influence young girls to get them.

Always appreciated her vocal skills ( Like This and Like That is my fave from her💚) and honesty about being exactly who she was, without shame or apology. She may have professed she no longer resorts to the "kick down your door and smack your chick" side of her because of maturity and setting an example for her kids but...I don't doubt for a minute that she holds that card at the ready, if she feels it's absolutely necessary. The ingrained "street mentality" doesn't just magically disappear from someone's being because they gain fame, wear designer clothes or surround themselves with new people.
Monica and 98 degrees was my 1st concert ever. I didnt even realize she was so young when she came out she was definitely miss thang. Also love her personality.....commitment is a banger !
