Well, anyone expecting people to pay for a whole show of that trebbly, clangy, stereotyped jazz tone needs to be taken outside and beaten with the stupid stick... 👍😜😁
Well, Dan from Ibanez is right. Neo soul aka "the chill jazzy thing kids play on instagram nowadays" has shown some increase in popularity and this sounds nice for that. Actually, for that sound and look, i wouldn't mind change the tuners and nut myself
Budget Ibanezes are getting impressive! I was looking at getting an Artstar or a Scofield, now I'm looking at getting two Artcores instead, the satin blue AMH90 and the satin black AG85.
these guitars are incredible. i have a southern rock/blues style & the ibanez are honestly my favorite guitars. i have 3 artcores that i love.. sound is better than my expensive american friends.
Yes. Now if that thing appeared in banana yellow with baby blue, I wouldn’t mind the red one to be a stylistic inconsistency. So, I’d love a AMH90-BYBB.
Wow, someone made my dream guitar? And it just happens to be one of my favorite brands, nice! Only wish the black and the blue colors had the same satin finish as the red one
Sadly these are $1200 aud - that's a lot of money here and used to be the average price for southe Korean guitars (not comparing quality but labour markets). I don't know if it's just currency or if there are extra taxes and shipping built-in to the au price, but 5-6 years ago this series (AM AS AG AK AF 90s and AR 300-400s) were half the price (I got añ AR325 for $550 and AG95s were closer $650 AUD). I just wish they still were under $1000 AUD. Great guitars no question, but coming from the supposed cheapest labour market for same or similar models I wonder what changed in 5years to literally double the price at least here in AU.
Nice guitar, and one thing I really like, those are bigger than normal F-holes, if you've ever tried replacing pick-ups in a guitar like this, you know what I'm talking about. Should make it easier to get everything back together again!
Mr.Pauly...a general question to you regarding a perception of "quality" with regards to electric guitars: Why is it that the more pieces of wood a guitar's BODY is made of means "lower quality" while at the same time the more pieces of wood a guitar's NECK is made of means "higher quality"?? Am I misunderstanding you - and pretty much anyone else who reviews guitars - in that "more is less" for guitar bodies and "more is more" for guitar necks? I've never understood this approach. I've seen countless guitar manufacturers brag about 7, 8, 9 or 11 piece guitar necks while most reviewers seem to frown upon any guitar body made of 3 or more pieces of wood. Why is this?
more pieces in the neck can give you stability and it’s done for tonal reasons, not so save money. A three or four piece body is only done because they used smaller pieces of wood which are cheaper and probably scrap wood from other factories (furniture). Glue can stop vibration and slow sustain, so you try to avoid using more glue and that means less body parts... but if it’s done correctly it shouldn’t be a problem. But more different pieces can also mean pieces with different resonances that might go against each other. A two piece body from the same piece of wood should have a rather equal resonance for both pieces. At least that’s the theory.. but many guitars I tested with three piece bodies sound great, so who knows.
How flexible is it. I have a Casino coupe. Nice guitar but, unlike a 335 semi, you can bend it a bit to get vibrato at the expense of stability. Also, I know this is utterly unfair but how does it compare to an Eastman Romeo? Thanks
This isn’t a gear question, but I have to know where you got that flooring with the words and numbers and stuff printed on it. Is it laminate flooring? Where did you purchase it?
@@EytschPi42 Genau! ( as I used to hear in Austria) Absolutely agree. I understand perfectly! Thank you for your answer. It's a good reason. I will think about it.
HI , nice review. 1 important question. Is the tailpiece on this guitar ringing. I mean does it give a ringing feedback especially when in a high gain mode ? Like quick hand dump on an overdriven sound etc.
Beautifuuuul guitar! I bought it on Reverb. And i also had a AS93, and i dont hear much diference in sound. Beside its a little bit lighter, i dont see a reason being a full hallow for such a guitar. Isnt better to have a central block anyway(sustain&anti feedbacking)?
at 0:24 , you can't tease that guitar with that amp and not do a playthru it, Henning. Well, you can because you just did, but come on. (loved the driftwood review, btw) It just hit me, you just put them together due to the tortoise shell pickguard and the amp plate color looking similar.

the pickup selector switch in the overlay has a white knob, but on the guitar it is black. unforgivable. downvoted, reported, unsubscribed, will warn parents about your channel
No bigsby on a hollowed body guitar is an instant yes for me 👍🏽
Jazz players love these - On tour, if one is broken or stolen you can probably find a replacement in any major city
This is my favorite playing from you on any of your videos! Nice hearing some clean guitar work. Guitar looks and sounds great too.
I would definitely use this for punk rock, Ibanez Super 58 pickups are suprisely nice and clear in high gain settings
It's great that Ibanez makes affordable, high-quality jazz guitars since nobody has paid money to hear jazz since 1973.
Naughty Cheddar, no donut for you!

Nice sounds, right price. I enjoy these videos where Henning gets to play those Berklee chords.
The hollowbody and semi-hollow guitars that Ibanez make are just amazing and unfortunately incredibly underrated..
I don't think so. I've never heard anyone speak ill of them and anytime there are recommendations going around, jazz folks will bring them up.
@@martinkrauser4029 well, as much as they are being brought up, I would love to see that number multiplied by a lot! lol, cheers man!

The sound of Dan from Ibanez hitting his forehead at the comments :D
With the Engl ... dang, that rocked, even pseudo-djented.
Never minded paid promotion. Henning's charming, honest wacky, personality however...

because Epiphone is Gibson and Gibson are bullies who sue small luthiers to extort licensing fees.
