I have done two of these recoilers now after watching this video. I am on my third and having a small issue. Any chance you could look at a video I did. Thanks
T-Mike, I've read on other sites that your not to use any kind of lubricant inside when you re-assemble the starter. Is that true? Seems conterintuitive.
Not sure how I missed this video? My Paw Paw will be smiling from the Heavens when he sees this motor return to the water. Thank you T-Mike!
Got yourself a little slice of heaven there my friend & i always enjoy your videos

Thank you for the helpful video! I messed up and had the spring feeding backwards my first try. Check that it is feeding in downwards not upwards.
Like those vintage outboards!

What size is the centre bolt as none of my metric or imperial sockets fit it?
Was the old spring broken not sure why it wasn't rewinding
Hi, I have this motor and was wondering if it was normal to have a slight bit of up down movement in the flywheel, it's not much but noticeable
Absolutely the worst recoil starter of any outboard for such a nice motor.
I just replaced mine today I struggled like crazy but for some reason every time I try pulling the cord it’s super hard and it still doesn’t retract ?

How to install an electric starter in a 4hp evenrude ?
Or, convert a pull start to push button start 4hp motor?
Thank you
Sorry. Can’t be done.
Mine just keeps slipping on that gear. Cant hold it tight enough with the screw driver
Mine too can't figure out why everything is back together right

You skipped through too many steps for me to figure out what you did.
