At 10:40 into the video, note that they installed the valence bar UPSIDE DOWN and BACKWARDS. If you follow this video and how they did this, it will drive you nuts. Also note that they must have figured it out by the end of the video because they have reversed it and it is then installed correctly.
Don't wait until the end to find out!
I was confused by that too. The instructions are terrible and don't have a good picture, but I can confirm that this video installs the front bar backwards. Don't do it like the video.

We had trouble following this video because they didn't show each step on film. They would make changes off camera and not explain. The end of the video show's correctly how the awning should look once completed, but that's not how they showed it during assembly.
they installed the front bar at the front end of the awning upside down, but must have corrected it later. The front of the fabric should have gone in the narrow slot of the front bar, not the slot on the flat end that shares the "arm bar link" (T-shaped metal piece that slides in to the channel)
@@cinemachinery - I’m literally fixing this problem right now because I, too, installed it upside down, and when it came time to stand back & admire my success before actually hanging it, I realized that if I hung it the way it was, the awning would open down toward the ground, not out, over the patio 😂 It seems like they must have corrected it offscreen because it took me like 4 hours to realize what the problem was on my end, and that it no longer looked as though the awning in the video had the same problem.
I will say though, I could NEVER have figured this out without this video…even with the couple of small omissions. The written instructions included are essentially useless, and opening the box was entirely overwhelming. “Some assembly required” has never looked so terrifying! 😂

Thanks for posting this video it's been a great help in putting the awning together. I live in Spain so it came with instructions in pidgin Spanish and it's not very clear. One thing that I can't find anywhere in the "instructions" is the measurement between the wall brackets. Does it have to be exact or is there any margin for error?
Brackets has to be between end of the each main bar side and the were arms attached to the main bar. So 6 inch each in from the each end side. I don't if I could explain it clearly

Hi there... there are plastic posts - approx. 2inches long that get attached in the same slot as the tbars on the mainframe.. I think. E1 and E2 parts.. they stick downward and are supposed to be set 7.9 inches IN from where the outside edge of the hinge on the retractable frame Is.. you don’t show assembly of this, what it looks like when completed, or how they work after it’s together.. I think we’re having a problem with ours... is it possible to add a pic or video somehow of how they work.. absolutely NO legible instructions on the so called instruction sueet/ 🤦♀️🤷♀️😢

Hello all !! What to say about video ? It is ONLY ONE for this brand video how to DIY but no voice guidance. We can see why, but nevermind. The guys did not USED A PART # E-1 ??? Why ? Only awning is nice and cheap price due to "SOUTH ASIAN" manufacturer. For that reason perhaps YOU DON'T GET INSTRACTION BUCKLET IN ENGLISH !!!!! French and Italian and especially GO FIGURE theirs mesaurments, where to install on both ends the "streach arms" ?!?! Also be aware that this awning could be installed only on the wall, they don't have a parts/brackets for ceilling option. Go figure and yet the video is for deaf-mute audience. Thanks

Considering that it wasn't created by the factory, it helps a lot as the guy did what he could. If you don't like it to the point that you have to leave your terrible comment, then you should make your own video tutorial.
