    What an exceptional collection! I was scribbling away and had to add a new page to my TBR list 🤣 I’ve just bought the mystical shaman oracle cowritten by Alberto Villoldo and that deck is so powerful, I can’t wait to read more of his work! I especially loved the Norse and Shamanic book recommendations 💜 but I loved seeing all your beautiful cats the most!!

    Interesting bookshelf tour... But you skipped one very important book by the goat head in the core, central area of your library... The one I was most interested in... But I guess that one's private... Oh dear... Perhaps some day you will talk about what you've decided to put in your grimoire, maybe many pages of original spell work and recipes... Who knows? Maybe you draw, as well - diagrams, animals, insects, plants, figures of cats. Thanks for the trip to your garden, and the tour of your library!

    • @TheWitchInTheWoods
      @TheWitchInTheWoods  2 роки тому +2

      My "Grimoire" is a bit private to be honest, but also so precious and laborious that I tend to neglect it. I think I should start a different kind of journal.. so yeah, maybe I could open up a bit about it. Thanks

    Good afternoon, The garden is looking very abundant even though some plants have withered in the heat. You have a beautiful little sanctuary there. Awwww bless the little kitties. They obviously feel very safe and restful at your house so is nice to see them enjoying the garden. I'v fed a few stray cats in my time, always will i guess. Blimey you have a plethora of books there. Some i looked at and thought wowzers that looks a bit heavy going. I'm not a reader never have been so seeing them books looked daunting. lol. What an eclectic array you have. Your life sounds very interesting with living in Cyprus and India. That'll be nice to hear about that some day. Well enjoy this freakish weather we're having. I'm not a fan of hot weather so i'll be indoors. Have a great week and thanks for posting.

      Thank you. I'm a bit too much like a kid in a sweetshop to decide which of the books I should actually finish reading! Yeah, the cats are too cute.. especially the Ginger one who can take a pouch out of the box and open it himself if he's hungry. I think that's progress don't you? Well, keep cool, stay safe.. I am avoiding the midday sun.. I'm not that mad! I'll probably be indoors too, and the cats are staying in the shade today, so hope they cope with what's to come. It'll be over by Wednesday! Have a good week too xxx

    I love your small garden and it's layout. I LOVE the pond, I would like to have a pond but I live in Arizona and the heat would dry it up really fast. I enjoyed Six Ways, Aiden isn't a traditional witch he's more along the lines of a chaos practicioner. I'm reading his third book, Changeling A Book of Qualities, and it's pretty fantastic. I love witchcraft bookshelf tours.

    • @TheWitchInTheWoods
      @TheWitchInTheWoods  2 роки тому +1

      Oh thanks for the tip. I'll look out for it. Yeah my pond is drying up pretty quickly too.. I'll have to refill it from the rainwater butt. Usually there's lots of the stuff. I love looking at people's books always.

      @@TheWitchInTheWoods We have 4 koi ponds that range from 150 gallons to 300 gallons and in the spring and summer they evaporate fast. My Dad knows that I don't like them that much anymore because we live in the desert and so we run low on water and here we are with roughly 900 gallons of water just for ponds. Don't get me wrong I LOVE watching the fish, my main God is Poseidon so I like to do it in honor of him but enough has been enough in my opinion. Bookshelf tours are fun.

    I hear you, sister. I mostly feel like draping myself somewhere in the shade and doing sweet nothing. I don't know if I have a favorite subject, although I've recently been reading more about folk magic-type things. It all started with a book on Italian Folk Magic, which was a great read. Somehow, that led to numerous recommendations about Hoodoo but I settled on a book about The Magic of Marie Laveau instead, which is also super interesting. My reading list seems to be growing instead of shrinking... one book I wholeheartedly recommend is Intuitive Witchcraft.
    Your cats certainly are comfy in the garden! Out of our brood of eight, there's one who insists on sleeping outside under the table most days but I wonder if she'll want to come in today. We're expecting temperatures around 35C or more.

    • @TheWitchInTheWoods
      @TheWitchInTheWoods  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah I'd like to research a bit more Italian Witchcraft, and um, also Appalachian Folk Magic interests me a lot. But yes, I've heard of Marie Laveau! and also someone else may have mentioned Intuitive Witchcraft, so I'll look out for that one! I had to cool my cats down with water last night.. they actually thought it was fun.. so I recommend it...chase them with a watering can! We are going to be hot here today..look after yourselves. Wear a hat and stay in the shade. Other than that.. hope you enjoy the warm weather. Will Worksop reach 41 degrees?!! so they reckon...nothing to do but melt with a good book x

      @@TheWitchInTheWoods I think you might enjoy "Italian Folk Magic" by Mary-Grace Fahrun then. As much as I poopoo Llewellyn publications these days, the late Raven Grimassi wrote some books on Italian witchcraft that sound like good and useful reading. At least he sounds to me like he knows what he's talking about, coming from that tradition. Rebecca Beyer is a witch in Appalachia and I found her book "Wild Witchcraft" a neat addition to the bookshelf. It's heavy on herbalism.
